Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various therapeutic methods in overcoming Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) based on study results from Indonesian scientific journals in the last five years. The method used was a literature review of five selected articles that discussed therapeutic interventions such as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), self-control techniques, and the Gestalt approach. The review showed that all three approaches are effective in reducing narcissistic symptoms, especially in adolescents and young adults. REBT and self-control techniques proved capable of changing dysfunctional thought patterns, while group counseling with the Gestalt approach contributed to increasing self-awareness and personal responsibility. Although the findings are promising, there are limitations such as methodological variations and the age range of the subjects that pose challenges in applying the results generally. This study contributes to the development of counseling practices in Indonesia and encourages further research with more diverse designs and populations.

Abstract

The phenomenon of toxic relationships has recently come under public scrutiny due to its widespread prevalence. This issue typically focuses on middle and late adulthood or parenting. This study examines the importance of emotional regulation and toxic relationships in late adolescence through a literature review. A literature review examines theories through the depth and breadth of previous research, including reviews of published journals and books. In general, it was found that the phenomenon of toxic relationships has pervaded late adolescence, and its relationship with emotional regulation is significantly negative. This means that if an individual has good or high emotional regulation, a toxic relationship will not occur. Conversely, if their emotional regulation is poor or low, a toxic relationship will occur.

Abstract

This integrative review synthesizes findings from ten empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025 that examine the role of gratitude as a protective factor for adolescents’ mental health. Using thematic analysis supported by a structured coding manual and thematic mapping, the review identifies consistent evidence that gratitude reduces stress, anxiety, and depression while enhancing life satisfaction, resilience, and psychological well-being. These cross-cultural findings extend the Broaden-and-Build Theory within collectivist contexts and highlight gratitude as an adaptive emotional resource that strengthens social connectedness and positive psychological functioning. Practically, gratitude-based interventions such as gratitude journaling and structured reflective practices offer a simple, low-cost, and effective preventive strategy to support youth mental health within educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning behavior and expressions of children with autism during learning activities and interactions in the non-formal Widya Wicara educational environment. The research subject was one child with autism with one companion as the main informant. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach through direct observations and structured interviews lasting 45 minutes with the companion. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman descriptive analysis technique which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the learning behavior of children with autism is strongly influenced by rapid mood swings and sensory sensitivity to the surrounding environment. Children tend to have difficulty maintaining focus and only respond to instructions or greetings when in a stable emotional state. When showing negative expressions such as rejection or tantrums, companions need to provide flexible responses and adapt to the children's needs to prevent emotional escalation. The non-formal educational environment provides a more conducive, flexible space and does not demand the achievement of specific academic targets, so children can learn and interact at their own pace, comfort, and readiness. Thus, non-formal learning is an effective approach in supporting the development of behavior, social interaction, and learning expressions of children with autism.

Abstract

Honorary teachers play a crucial role in the Indonesian education system, yet they still face various challenges, such as low welfare and uncertain employment status. These conditions have the potential to impact honorary teachers' work engagement. This study aims to analyze the relationship between job resources and resilience on work engagement among honorary teachers in Cilacap Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring job resources, resilience, and work engagement, and then analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results showed that job resources and resilience have a positive and significant relationship with work engagement. The higher the job resource support received by teachers and the stronger their resilience, the higher their level of work engagement. The analysis showed that job resources contributed 57.92% to work engagement, while resilience contributed 22.78%. These findings confirm that work environment factors and personal characteristics play a significant role in improving honorary teachers' work engagement. This research is expected to serve as a basis for developing policies and interventions oriented towards improving the welfare and work quality of honorary teachers in Indonesia.
