Abstract

Typhoid fever is a systemic infection that is still a global problem, especially in Indonesia. This disease is caused by Salmonella bacteria. The Widal test is used to detect antibodies to Salmonella bacteria based on agglutination reactions between bacterial antigens and antibodies called agglutinins. Routine blood tests be used to see the body's defense mechanism against infection. Lymphocytes are produced by bone marrow, the presence of bacterial endotoxin causes inhibition of the formation of lymphocytes, so that in some cases of typhoid fever, low lymphocyte counts are often found. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Widal titer and lymphocyte count in patients with suspected typhoid fever. The Widal test was examined using a microscope to see the agglutination formed, while the number of lymphocytes was calculated using a hematology analyzer. The results of the Widal test with a titer of 1/160 were 63.3% with normal lymphocyte counts and 10% with low lymphocytes. While the titer 1/320 obtained 10% of respondents with normal lymphocyte count and 16.7% with low lymphocyte count. The research design used was analytic observation with the type of cross sectional study. Statistical analysis using Kendall's Tau-b correlation test with SPSS. From the correlation test, the significance value is 0.009, and the correlation coefficient is -0.404**, which means that there is a relationship between the Widal titer and the number of lymphocytes with sufficient closeness.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang sistem pemantauan pH, Temperatut dan kelembaban pada pembuatan pupuk kompos. Peralatan ini sangat dibutuhkan oleh para petani untuk mengontrol pembuatan pupuk kompos untuk hasil yang lebih maksimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sensor YL-69, display LCD, arduiono uno dan pembacaan dengan software yang dihubungkan dengan MySql mampu terkoneksi dengan baik. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan ketelitian sudah mendekati hasil senbenarnya dimana semisal nilai 20% makan akan didapatkan hasil sebesar +/- 2,80% untuk sebuah nilai kepastian sedangkan ketidakpastian untuk suhu nilai maksimal 3 dan dalam pembaaan (70oC +/- 3oC).Dari hasil penelitian yang diproleh menunjukkan bahawa alat yang digunakan sudah bisa digunkan untuk sistem monitoring pH, temperatur dan kelembaban untuk optimalisasi pembuatan pupuk kompos dengan bemberian air yang sesuai dengan fan yang digunakan untuk pembuatan pupuk kompos

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang sistem pemantauan gas H2 dengan metode elektrolisis. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka mencari energi terbarukan ditengah kebutuhan energi dunia yang semakin meningkat sejalan dengan semakin menurunya jumlah minyak bumi dunia. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi pada energi baru terbarukan. Dalam prosesenya gas hidrogen dapat dihasilkan dari hidrolisis dengan menggunakan TGS 821 dan DAC serta dihubungkan pada perangkat PC dalam proses penelitian ini besar arus yang digunakan adalah 8V, 9V, 10 V, 11V dan 12V. hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkat jumlah hidrogen yang dihasilkan sebanding dengan peningkatan arus yang diberikan dan maksimum pada kuat arus 12 volt. Jumlah hidrogen maksim pada 998,20 ppm dan paling rendah pada 131,60 ppm.

Abstract

Timbal (Pb) merupakan salah satu jenis logam berat berbahaya dan toksik bagi tubuh manusia. Mekanik merupakan salah satu profesi dibidang mesin kendaraan bermotor, dimana kemungkinan terpapar partikel Pb akibat polusi atau emisi gas kendaraan bermotor dengan kadar jauh lebih tinggi dibanding dengan masyarakat lainnya sangat nyata. Terakumulasinya Pb pada penelitian ini memberi gambaran bahwa lama bekerja sangat mempengaruhi kadar logam Pb dalam rambut pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar timbal pada rambut mekanik di daerah Kampung Lalang. Penelitian ini dilaksankan di UPT Laboratorium Kesehatan Daerah Provinsi Sumatera Utara dengan menggunakan alat Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom. Dari 6 keseluruhan populasi, penelitian mengambil sampel Rambut dari 6 (enam) orang Mekanik. Kadar Pb pada 6 (enam) sampel Rambut mekanik di Daerah Kampung Lalang Secara Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom Tahun 2021, Dengan varabel lama kerja > 10 th (R5) 57.25 mg/kg termasuk tingkat pencemaran tinggi >25 ppm, sedangkan sampel dengan lama kerja 5-10 th 2.115 mg/kg dinyatakan mengandung timbal dengan kategori pencemaran yang rendah < 10 ppm, sedangkan 4 Sampel dinyatakan tidak mengandung Pb yaitu pada kode sampel Rambut R1,R2,R3,dan R6. Dan disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya agar melakukan penelitian dengan mengambil sampel lain seperti darah untuk mendapat hasil yang lebih akurat.

Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Severe cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection are characterized by a systemic inflammatory response in acute respiration. The inflammatory response can be checked by laboratory tests with C-Reactive Protein. The purpose of this study was to determine CRP levels in elderly patients with comorbidities who were confirmed positive for Covid-19. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional design using accidental sampling technique obtained a sample of 56 patients. This research was conducted at Pasar Rebo Hospital. Based on the univariate statistical test, the frequency distribution of males was 29 people (51.8%) while women were 27 people (48.2%), the elderly group with the highest group was in the elderly group with an age range of 65-69 years as many as 22 people (39.3%), elderly patients with comorbid Hypertension dominate as many as 18 people (32.1%). The results of laboratory examinations showed an increase in levels of C-Reactive Protein which varied, this was accompanied by the condition of patients who had clinical comorbidities. Covid-19 in the elderly also worsens the symptoms and course of Covid-19, due to decreased immune function, the immune system of organs and the many clinical comorbidities that occur.

Abstract

Leukocytes are blood cells that play a role in the immune mechanism. Leukocytes are classified based on the presence or absence of granules in the cytoplasm of leukocytes, which consist of granulocytes and agranulocytes. The normal leukocyte count is 3200-10000/mm3 of blood. If the leukocytes are above the normal limit, it is called leukocytosis. Leukocytosis can be pathological or physiological. Physiological leukocytosis that occurs during pregnancy is common due to two reasons, namely a physiological stress and an increased inflammatory response. Physiological stress arises as a response to changes that occur in the body of pregnant women, including the workload of the heart, digestive system, metabolism, thereby stimulating the production of white blood cells to increase immunity. The inflammatory response is a form of the body's selective immune tolerance, immunosuppression and immunomodulation of the fetus. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between gestational age and leukocyte count in pregnant women at the Slahung Health Center, Ponorogo Regency, which was conducted in July 2021. This study uses an analytical observational analytic method with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted by examining gestational age and leukocyte count in pregnant women with a total sample of 30 samples and using a total sampling technique. Examination of the number of leukocytes using the Hematology Analyzer URIT 3000 Plus. The results based on the average number of leukocytes from this study in the first trimester were 3.20 x103/mm3, in the second trimester 8.42 x103/mm3, and in the third trimester 12.56 x103/mm3. The results of test using the Kruskal-Walis obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results of this study can be concluded that there is a relationship between gestational age and the number of leukocytes in pregnant women

Abstract

Kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja merupakan salah satu hal penting dalam melakukan suatu kegiatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk lebih memahami bahan kimia serta hubungannya dengan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja di laboratorium. Dengan mengetahui simbol bahaya dari bahan-bahan kimia serta cara meminimalisir risiko bahaya yang dapat terjadi dari bahan kimia tersebut. Bahan kimia memiliki simbol bahaya yang dapat dibedakan berdasarkan sifatnya, yaitu corosive (korosif), flammable (mudah menyala), explosive (mudah meledak), harmfull, irritant, toxic (beracun), oxidizing (oksidator), dan dangerous for the environment (berbahaya bagi lingkungan). Masing-masing bahan kimia memiliki risiko yang berbeda-beda, maka setiap risiko yang ditimbulkan itu dapat diminimaliris dengan memperhatikan prosedur keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja di laboratorium, yaitu dengan memperhatikan setiap peraturan di laboratorium, seperti menggunakan alat pelindung diri seperti jas lab, sarung tangan, alas kaki, dan masker tentunya dapat mengurangi segala risiko kecelakaan yang dapat terjadi di dalam laboratorium.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type II is a metabolic disorder disease characterized by an increase in blood glucose due to a decrease in insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells or impaired insulin function (insulin resistance). Blood glucose is a carbohydrate that circulates in the body in the metabolic process. Monitoring blood sugar levels is needed in establishing a diagnosis, especially for Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Blood glucose levels can be checked when the patient is in a fasting condition or it can also be when the patient comes to check, with the results of the examination of blood glucose levels when >200 mg / dl, while for the results of glucose levels during fasting >126 mg / dl.. This type of research is descriptive. A tool to measure blood glucose levels using the Glucometer Method. The time of the study was carried out from January to March at the Islamic Malahayati Medan Hospital’s Laboratory by taking 10 samples. Data collection is carried out by direct examination of blood glucose levels in patients with Diabetes Mellitus at Malahayati Medan Islamic Hospital in March-April 2022. From the results of examination of blood glucose levels in 10 samples of type II diabetes mellitus (DM) aged 50-60 years with glucometer method at Malahayati Islam hospital Medan 2022 obtained the results that all samples showed an average blood glucose level value above 220 mg / dl and increased from its normal value.
