Abstract

This study revealed the phenomenon of incung batik as an art and cultural symbolism of the Kerinci community. The symbol on batik illustrates a community identity that is a non-verbal communication tool carried out by humans. The method used in this research is the method of historical research using the cultural approach and incung batik as its medium. The results showed that Kerinci was an area that was unique in developing batik motifs using the incung script (ancient Kerinci script). This is a cultural symbol for the people of Kerinci because they are able to develop ancient scripts by making it a batik motif. The art for the Kerinci community in batik is because the community can make batik with the development of incung batik and in the Kerinci community there is also a tradition of using batik cloth at weddings. Thus, batik usage in the Kerinci community has been going on since the past.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan keberadaan Taman Nasional Batang Gadis Sejak Tahun 2004, Menjelaskan Peran Taman Nasional Batang Gadis dalam Melestarikan Hutan Larangan dan Menjelaskan Bagaimana Upaya Taman Nasional Batang Gadis dalam Memanfaatkan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal untuk melestarikan hutan lindung.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang dilakukan melalui empat tahap. Pertama adalah Heuristik yaitu pengumpulan data, kedua adalah kritik sumber atau tahap pengolahan data atau menganalisis sumber informasi melalui kritk eksternal dan internal, ketiga adalah interpretasi di mana penulis menggabungkan data dan sumber yang telah diperoleh sesuai dengan fakta dan kenyataan yang ada, ke empat adalah tahap penulisan sejarah (historiografi) dengan langkah terakhir di mana penulis melakukan penulisan dari data fakta dan sumber yang diperoleh dalam bentuk karya ilmiah yang sesuai dengan kaidah-kaidah penelitian sejarah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the life history of Rusydi Zainal Abdi Batubara as an activist for Islamic Religious Education from Mandailing Natal and to explain his career in establishing several Islamic boarding schools. This study uses historical research methods through four stages, namely, first heuristics is the stage of collecting data from oral and written sources, secondly source criticism is internal criticism and external criticism, third analysis and interpretation or interpretation of selected sources, and fourth, historiography is to describe the results of research in the form of scientific writing in accordance with the rules of historical research. The result of this research is that Rusydi Zainal Abdi Batubara is an Islamic religious education activist from Mandailing Natal, who started his career in Malaysia as a preacher and teacher, then in Mandailing Natal. In addition, he also founded the Issiyah Islamic boarding school in Malaysia in 1994, in 2002 founded the Nadwa Islamic Boarding School in Mandailing Natal, precisely in Air Apa Village, Sinunukan District, after that in 2017 founded the Daarul Abdil Mukhlisin Islamic Boarding School in Pulo Padang, Lingga Bayu District, Mandailing Natal district.

Abstract

This research examines the development of fishing technology in Muara Kandis from 2011-2018 and its impact on the socio-economic life of fishermen. This research is important to do to find out the activities of fishermen, the emergence of modernization and development of fishing gear and how it impacts the lives of fishing communities in the social, economic and educational fields in Muara Kandis. The method used in this research is the historical method. First, Heuristics is the stage of collecting data in the form of primary data and secondary data. Second, source criticism is the stage of processing data or information through internal and external criticism. Third, interpretation or data analysis. Fourth, historiography or historical writing is the stage of writing research reports into scientific writing in the form of a thesis. The results showed that the people in Nagari Muara Kandis depend a lot on their lives as fishermen because the area is located on the coast. The development of fishing technology began to be felt by the fishing community in early 2011 with the entry of motorized boats known as outboard engines. These developments certainly cannot be separated from the role of the government where counseling is held by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in collaboration with the local government on the use of modern technology. With the development of this technology, of course, it has an impact on the socio-economic life of fishermen, such as increased economic income, well-established social relations between fellow fishermen and with the surrounding community as well as impacts in the field of education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the obstacles felt by lecturers and students of the History Department, Faculty of Social Science, Universitas Negeri Padang in using the features contained in e-learning. The research is motivated by initial findings which show that there are various obstacles experienced by lecturers and students in utilizing and accessing the features available in Universitas Negeri Padang e-learning. This study uses a mixed-method. The results of the study indicate that the obstacles experienced by lecturers in utilizing e-learning features; detailed technical knowledge in managing certain features have not been mastered by lecturers. These features are the BigBlueButton, Chat, Choice, Glossary, Lesson, Quiz, Wiki, Book, Folder, Label, Page, and URL features (still limited in use; under 10%). The features that are commonly used by lecturers are the assignment, attendance, forum, and file features (utilization in the 10%-20% range). The obstacles in accessing e-learning that is felt by students, which are often errors, especially in the morning, do not know in detail the functions of each feature.

Abstract

This study examines the walisongo da'wah contained in the Walisongo New Fact Book by Zainal Abidin Bin Syamsuddin and the Walisongo Book of Da'wah and Jihad in the Land of Java (1404-1482), by Rachmad Abdullah. These two books describe Walisongo's da'wah in Java in a different form from the mystical and ma'rifat that the Javanese people have believed so far. The purpose of this study is to describe Walisongo's da'wah in Java in the book Walisongo New Facts by Zainal Abidin Bin Syamsuddin and Walisongo Glora's Book of Da'wah and Jihad in Java (1404-1482), by Rachmad Abdullah. This research is a library research, where this research limits itself to collection materials from the library without conducting field research (interview data). The approach used is a historical qualitative approach using content analysis methods. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the Walisongo da'wah described in these two books was obtained from the same source so that they have the same point of view and background in understanding Islamic studies in the beliefs held by the same Islamic group.Keywords: walisongo, da'wah, background.

Abstract

This study examines the Socio-Economic Life of Workers of PT Sumatra Tropical Spices in Kenagarian Sungai Buluh, Padang Pariaman Regency 1993-2020. This study aims to explain how the changes and development of socio-economic life and the level of welfare of the workers of PT Sumatra Tropical Spices. This study uses historical methods, which include heuristics, source criticism, analysis, synthesis, and interpretation as well as historiography (historical writing). The results of this study indicate that the socio-economic life of workers at PT Sumatra Tropical Spices from 1993-2020 has increased. The initial changes in socio-economic life were seen after 1998 and slowly increased in the following years. Workers of PT Sumatra Tropical Spices work from 08.00-17.00 WIB, with that they get income in the form of salaries, production bonuses, THR, health facilities, and pension benefits. With a steady income, some of them already have private homes, are able to own two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles), washing machines, televisions, and other electronic devices, as well as the education of the workers' children who are able to send them to college.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the mini-textbook of Indonesian History by students of the Department of History in grades X, XI and XII. This research is evaluative research with a quantitative approach. The source of the research data was from the results of the assessment of the Indonesian History mini-textbook which was assessed by six raters, namely three history teachers and three students of the Department of History. The mini-textbook of Indonesian history is worth three books, one each consisting of grades X, XI, and XII. The research instrument used an assessment sheet for the Indonesian History mini-textbook. Data analysis used descriptive analysis with percentage technique. The results of the study on the quality of the mini-textbooks assessed by the History Teacher class X were categorized as very good with the percentage results of 84% and 78% being assessed by the students of the History Department, the XI class assessed by the History Teacher was categorized as very good with the percentage results of 79% and 81% being assessed by History Department Students, class XII assessed by History Teachers was categorized as very good with a percentage of 86% and 79% assessed by History students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the many difficulties experienced by students in learning history in class X IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci. This study aims to determine the indicators of students' difficulties in learning history in class X IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci, which are indicators that affect students' difficulties in learning history and which indicators are the most dominant that affect students in learning history. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a questionnaire collection technique consisting of 17 question items which include indicators of learning outcomes obtained that are not in accordance with the learning carried out, learning activities, attitudes, behavior, and emotional symptoms. Subjects in this study consisted of 30 people. Analysis of the data used is descriptive statistical analysis with TCR count and percentage. Based on the results of the study, it turns out that the description of learning difficulties experienced by students in learning history class X IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 7 Kerinci is found in indicators, the results obtained are not in accordance with what is done, learning activities, and attitudes. The average level of achievement of respondents above 60% is in the high category, namely on items, students rarely do history learning outside school, students rarely complete assignments from the teacher properly and correctly, students rarely do resume assignments given by the teacher on time, students are not happy to make assignments given by the teacher, students rarely answer questions from the teacher when the learning process takes place and students rarely ask the teacher when there is learning material that has not been understood.

Abstract

Lempur Village is located in Gunung Raya District which has the potential of abundant natural resources and a beautiful atmosphere, on the other hand, the majority of Lempur Village people work as farmers. In 2014 Lempur Village was an ordinary village just like other villages, the community was still not aware that the potential possessed by the village could be developed and become a tourist attraction so that it could create jobs for the local community. With abundant natural potential and complete with hills, mountains, waterfalls, lakes, flora, and fauna, it should be able to attract tourists to come. Research Objectives To describe the development of the Lekuk 50 Tumbi Lempur Tourism Village in Kerinci Regency 2015-2020, especially in the physical field and to describe the socio-economic impact of the development of the Lekuk 50 Tumbi Lempur Tourism Village on the Lempur community before and after the establishment of the tourist village. The method used in this historical research consists of 4 stages, namely: Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The research results of Development Lekuk 50 Tumbi Lempur Tourism Village have made many good contributions to the community. One of them is the formation of job vacancies such as Travel Agent, Porter, Cafe. Most of the people who feel the economic impact of the development of the Lekuk 50 Tumbi Lempur Tourism Village are traders, including meatball, satay, chicken noodle, and even cafe traders. The social impacts of the development of tourist villages on the community are: The majority of people are starting to become aware of the cleanliness of the surrounding environment, the re-activation of art studios in the community, the culture of the Lempur Village community is starting to be known to people outside the area such as Tauh Dance.
