Abstract

Abstract. This research is the action class with the purpose to increase understanding the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity with the implementation AIR learning model. In the AIR model, students work in groups. AIR learning model is Auditory, Intellectually, and Repetition. The data collection techniques make use of observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Before applying the AIR learning model in class IV, comprehension of the concept Indonesian culture diversity the childrens was very low. it can be seen from the percentage of students completeness 15% or 17 students getting grades less than KKM. Solution to this problem is implementation of the AIR learning model two cycles. In the first cycles, this score understanding the concept of Indonesian cultural diversity increased to 45% or 9 students get a score up to KKM. And then in cycle II, it increased again to 90% or 18 students get a score up to KKM. Based on the data, it can be concluded,the application of the AIR learning model can be to increase understanding the concept of Indonesian culture diversity in the fourth grade, student of Jatipurwo elementary school II academic years 2019/2020.

Abstract

This research aims to improve reading comprehension skills with Know Want Learn learning strategies. The subjects of this research were 31 students in class IV Karangasem II Elementary School Surakarta in the academic year 2019/2020. This study uses data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation and reading skills tests that are tested with content validity, triangulation of data sources and triangulation of techniques. The results that has been obtained will be processed by data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. From the results before the implementation of the Know Want Learn strategy, classical completeness was only 12.9% (only 4 students), then after the implementation of the Know Want Learn strategy the results of reading comprehension skills increased by 48.39% (15 students) in the first cycle and 82.2% (26 students) in the second cycle. So, the Know Want Learn strategy can improve reading comprehension skills in grade IV students of SD Negeri Karangasem II in the 2019/2020 school year. The teacher can apply this know want learn strategy to reading comprehension learning in elementary schools, especially fourth grade.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the problem solving skills of V grade students at SDN Pajang II No. 171 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year through the application of REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) learning strategies. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this research was teachers and students in V grade, which amounted to 25 students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation and tests. Data validity uses technical triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis uses comparative descriptive analysis techniques, critical analysis and interactive analysis of the Miles & Huberman model. The results showed classical completeness of students in pre-action reached was 4%, in the first cycle escalate to 32%, and in the second cycle escalate again to 84%. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the REACT strategy can improve problem solving skills in V grade students of SDN Pajang II No. 171 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research can contribute to scientific development on problem solving skills.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to find out how are the learning outcomes of students before and after the application of the role playing method in Setono No.95 State Elementary School Surakarta academic year 2019/2020. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative method, using a Classroom Action Research approach. The research subjects of the research that will be carried out are me as a researcher, teacher, and fifth grade students of SD Negeri Sutono No.95 Surakarta Academic Year 2019/2020. The data needed in this study includes primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of role playing models in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Setono No.95 in Surakarta 2019/2020 Academic Year has succeeded in increasing the understanding of the concept of Unity in Diversity. This is demonstrated by the presentation of the comprehension of Unity in Diversity in the initial conditions, cycle I and cycle II that continues.and provide the benefits of a very good contribution to student activities namely activity,curiosity,and courage.

Abstract

This aim of this research is to describe the ability to solve problems in speed and debit material based on John Dewey's theory on the 5th grade students of SD Djama'atul Ichwan Surakarta in the academic year 2019/2020. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The data source of this study was students of grade 5Bth at SD Djama'atul Ichwan, consisting of six children as research samples were taken by using a purposive sampling technique . The data collection technique was carried out by observation, interview, and document analysis with data validity testing using technique triangulation and time triangulation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis models. The results of this study indicate that students can determine the problem by meeting the two specified indicators. Students are quite able to formulate and evaluate problem-solving hypotheses because they only have one way as an alternative to problem-solving so that they only meet one indicator out of the two indicators set. Students are quite capable of applying the chosen problem-solving method because they have not been able to write problem-solving steps systematically so that they only meet three indicators out of the four indicators set. It can be concluded that the students did not succeed in meeting the indicators determining several alternative problem-solving and indicators of the problem-solving flow were written systematically. The result of this research provide insight into problem-solving abilities based on John Dewey’s theory and orm the basis of the further research. The result of this research also encourage teachers to determine effective strategies, models, and methods so they can improve students’ problem solving abilities.

Abstract

The direction of this research is to improve concept understanding of economy activity and types of bussines through the implementation of cooperative learning model type example non example in grade 5 of primary education. This research is a classroom action research consist of two cycle. The subject of this research is grade  students of SD Negeri 2 Manggis that totaling 33 students. The techniques of accumulation data in this research were observation, interviw, tests and documentation, with data analysis using content validity testing and triangulation technique. The cycle 1 in this research resulted a classical completeness of 54,55%, continuing in classical completeness in cycle 2 which increased to 81,82%. Based on the output, can be summarize that the use of cooperative learning model type example non example can improve the concept understanding of economy activity and types of business in grade 5 of SD Negeri 2 Manggis 2019/2020 academic year.Keywords: concept understanding, economy activity and types of business, example non example, primary education

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve reading comprehension skills through scramble learning models for grade IV students of primary schools. in this study the subjects studied were grade IV students of SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kulon No. 83 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 school year with a total of 16 students. In this research, researchers used several techniques in data collection, namely the activity of tests, interviews and observation. Data analysis of content validity and data triangulation. The analysis data techniques used are interactive analysis model of Miles-Huberman techniques. From the research on the application of the scramble learning model during the two cycle research, the following results were obtained, in the first cycle the classical completeness was 37.50%, then in the second cycle it was 100%. based on these results it can be concluded that the students' reading comprehension skills have increased from the pre-action stage,  first cycle and second cycle. As for the contribution  this study, teachers can use the scramble learning model in reading comprehension learning activities.

Abstract

This research has purpose to improve fifth grade student in writing pantun. Imagination of sugestion applyed to solve the problem. This research was done in Kerten 2 Elementary School in 2019/2020. This Research was a classroom action research. Students and fifth grade teacher of Kerten State Elementary School 2 is subject of this research. The result of  pantun writing test, observation, Interview and documentation as supporting data. Technique of collected data which used by the researcher are interviewing,observation in class and also documentation. Triagulation and content validity was technique for data validation. Interactive analysis model by Miles Huberman that used in this research for data analysis. The results of this study were the poetry writing skills of students using the imagination suggestion method increased with 81% of students scored above the minimum completeness criteria.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study to look out the effectiveness of Scramble in enhancement of second grade student of elementary school Karangasem III, Laweyan Surakarta in writing of simple sentence, scramble is a part of cooperative learning. The students arrange Scramble word which help to crate simple sentence. This study done some stages of action class study started from pre-test until third cycle. The collecting data that used on this study are intervieuw with teacher and students, observation, and documenting which the writer got by doing writing test. There are some result wrote thet 48,5 for pre-test, 63,4 for cycle I, 70,85 for cycle II and cycle III is 86,5. I conclusion, Scramble is effective to enhancement students writing skill, simple sentence.Keywords: Scramble, simple sentence, elementary school

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study to describe the implementation of the character education at SDN Bansari. The study used a qualitative method through a case study approach. The data was taken from ten informants that consisting of the headmaster, third grade classroom teacher, fifth grade classroom teacher, an Islamic education teacher, student of third and fifth grade, the third and fifth graders parent, the chairman of committee, and school employees that selected from purposive technique. Data were taken in depth interviews to all of the informants. The result of the research showed that there are four priority in SDN Bansari. The four values of the character are that: 1) religious; 2) patriotism; 3) communicative; 4) appreciating accomplishment; and 5) environmental concerns. A number of strategies in character education’s implementation were among others, routine activities, role modelling/exemplary, spontaneous activities, conditioning, and programmable. Character education in school culture in SDN Bansari was done by combination of the strategy and character value.
