Abstract

This research conducted to analyzed the teacher’s role in instilling learning discipline in Javanese languange learning for fifth grade students. This is a qualitative descriptive research using a case study approach. The research results of this study show seven roles that must be implemented to instill learning discipline in Javanese languange. The role such as demonstrators, evaluators and educators still have subindicators that have not been fulfilled. However, teachers have fulfilled other roles, as communicators, organizers, motivators, and inspirers. A questionnaire was conducted to calculate the learning discipline of class V ini Javanese languange learning, so the conclusion was that in general the students' learning discipline was in the very good category. This is seen from each indicator, namely (1) discipline in participating in learning; (2) discipline in doing assignments; and (3) discipline in obeying rules and regulations. The implications of this research state that the teacher's role in instilling learning discipline in Javanese language learning can trigger students' disciplined learning behavior in participating in learning, doing assignments, and obeying rules and regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between mathematics anxiety, verbal ability, and numeracy skills among fifth-grade elementary school students. Specifically, it examines: (1) the correlation between mathematics anxiety and numeracy skills; (2) the correlation between verbal ability and numeracy skills; and (3) the joint correlation of mathematics anxiety and verbal ability with numeracy skills. The research employed a correlational survey method. The population consisted of fifth-grade students from public elementary schools in Cluster III of the Banjarsari District, comprising approximately 53 schools. A total of 83 students from three schools were selected using a cluster random sampling technique. Data collection instruments included a mathematics anxiety questionnaire and multiple-choice tests for verbal ability and numeracy skills. The results of the analysis show that: (1) there is a significant correlation between mathematics anxiety and numeracy skills (ry1 =  -0,431; tcount = 4.295 > ttable = 1.990); (2) there is a significant correlation between verbal ability and numeracy skills (ry2 = 0,423; tcount = 4,196 > ttable = 1.990); and (3) there is a significant simultaneous correlation between mathematics anxiety and verbal ability with numeracy skills (ry12 = 0,531 ; Fcount = 15,692 > Ftable 3,111). These findings highlight the importance of both emotional and cognitive factors in shaping students' numeracy proficiency.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effectiveness of using interactive media based on educational games in enhancing learning outcomes in science subjects at the elementary school level. By using qualitative literature review methods, various previous studies are analyzed to assess the extent to which game-based learning media can provide a positive impact on the teaching and learning process. The results of the study indicate that educational media based on games not only makes learning more interesting and enjoyable but also significantly can enhance students' motivation to learn, engagement, and achievement of learning outcomes. The use of educational game media proves to be effective and easy to implement, as well as helping students to understand science concepts through more interactive and visual learning experiences. Thus, the use of interactive media based on games is highly recommended as an innovative alternative in creating meaningful and student-centered learning.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze efforts in overcoming the challenges faced by first to third-grade teachers in managing classrooms using a socio-emotional approach at elementary school during the post-pandemic period. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The data obtained in this research consist of primary and secondary data sources. Primary data are collected through interviews, while secondary data are derived from document analysis related to efforts in addressing classroom management challenges based on the socio-emotional approach for lower-grade teachers at elementary school during the post-pandemic period. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation, while data analysis employed Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis model. The findings of the study indicate that lower-grade teachers at elementary school have undertaken several efforts to address the challenges of managing classrooms using a socio-emotional approach, including: 1) Conducting thorough preparation and participating in continuous professional development; 2) Implementing gradual adaptation strategies during the transition to new learning methods; 3) Utilizing digital learning media that support socio-emotional aspects; 4) Enhancing communication and classroom management skills; 5) Conducting intensive student observation and improving communication with parents; and 6) Organizing individual or small group counseling sessions to support students’ socio-emotional development. The findings provide new insights into the challenges and strategies of classroom management during the post-pandemic transition, which can serve as a foundation for developing more adaptive classroom management theories and model.
