Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how regent candidate pairs build self-image through programs and policies that can attract voters' attention and increase voter presentation and how to deliver messages. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methodology, analyzes the messages of candidate pairs delivered on social media, then analyzes them using Islamic communication. that the regent's candidate pair had compiled a program that was by the voter segment. The delivery of the program was carried out through social media including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, website, the messages conveyed could be seen in the media center which collected all the messages conveyed, but the messages that have not been submitted in detail. In delivering messages, candidate pairs of regents use a pragmatic approach by making programs related to voter needs. Candidate pairs also use a rational approach by conveying messages rhetorically and rationally.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji pemberitaan media online atas peristiwa penganiayaan terhadap siswa SMP di Pontianak bernama Audrey oleh beberapa siswa SMA. Peristiwa ini terjadi di bulan April 2019 dan mendapatkan liputan yang luas dari berbagai media massa (online atau pun offline) sehingga menjadi viral. Kompas.com dan Republika Online (Republika.co.id) dipilih karena keduanya merupakan dua media massa arus utama yang terbit dalam dua paltform, online dan offline, dan memiliki ideologi yang berbeda. Kompas dikenal sebagai media nasionalis yang didirikan kalangan aktivis Kristen dengan bantuan beberapa petinggi militer. Sedangkan Republika merupakan media massa nasionalis yang diinisiasi aktivis Islam (ICMI) dengan dukungan beberapa petinggi pemerintah. Di sini penulis menggunakan  analisis wacananya Van Dijk untuk sebagai metode untuk mengkaji pemberitaan kasus penganiayaan Audrey di dua media tersebut. Dari kajian yang penulis lakukan didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa  Kompas.comMemberitakan peristiwa tersebut sesuai dengan ideologinya yaitu humanisme netral agama. Media ini memberitakan  kronologi dan respon masyarakat terkait tindakan kekerasan yang terjadi pada Audrey. Sedangkan Republika Online lebih menekankan pada pesan moral kepada masyarakat tentang kegagalan orang dewasa dalam mendidik anak. Republika Online menampilkan berita dengan menunjukan warna keislaman yang kental. This paper discusses online media coverage of the persecution of a junior high school student in Pontianak named Audrey by several high school students. This incident occurred in April 2019 and received wide coverage from various mass media (online or offline) so that it went viral. Kompas.com and Republika Online (Republika.co.id) were chosen because they are two mainstream mass media published on two platforms, online and offline, and have different ideologies. Kompas is known as a nationalist media founded by Christian activists with the help of several high-ranking military officials. Meanwhile, Republika is a nationalist mass media initiated by Islamic activists (ICMI) with the support of several high-ranking government officials. Here the author uses Van Dijk's discourse analysis as a method for studying the reporting of the Audrey persecution case in these two media. From the study that the author conducted, it was concluded that Kompas.com Reporting the event is in accordance with his ideology, namely religious neutral humanism. This media reports the chronology and public response regarding the violence that happened to Audrey. Meanwhile, Republika Online emphasizes more on moral messages to the public regarding the failures of adults in educating children. Republika Online displays news by showing a thick Islamic values.

Abstract

The film in this study did not use dialogue or conversation but instead used expressions, gestures and symbols. The purpose of this study is to determine the meaning and message of the visuals conveyed by each scene in the short film 'Reverse Perspective'. This research shows that the symbol for delivering messages in this film uses facial expressions to convey a message of the feeling of a player in it, the property in his room which indicates he is doing something repeatedly, colour grading which indicates the difference before the slash after taking drugs. The conclusion of the message conveyed in the film 'Reverse Perspective' is to think long beforehand in the decisions we choose, because when we make a wrong decision, we must be prepared to face these risks because every decision has consequences.

Abstract

Instagram is a social media with a photo and video processing system and more practical information acquisition. Taking and distributing photos and videos with the features presented, it's no wonder that Instagram is the most popular social media. The advantages presented by Instagram social media are able to reach the most users of other social media, including teenagers, even the most users are teenagers.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the understanding of Bone's audience towards the use of Instagram hashtags #dirumahaja during the Covid-19 period. This study uses the phenomenological method because it is considered suitable for the object of study whose study is the use of #dirumahaja in line with the phenomenon of the Covid-19 outbreak. As for the phenomenological method, we are referring to, it is a description of a person's life experience. It is necessary to know how a person expresses his experience through the consciousness that occurs in a person or individual. audiences have used Instagram as a medium to get information and entertainment media. The results of this study show that bone audiences have also understood the use of hashtag #dirumahaja in depth is characterized by being able to translate, namely giving meaning to the hashtag, then the audience has also been able to interpret the use of these hashtags as a preventive effort and finally audience at Bone has also reached the exploratory stage, namely being able to connect or bring the meaning of this understanding to other things, like gaping himself is a participant of this Covid-19 plague.

Abstract

This paper will examine the phenomenon of the construction of the meaning of La Light Wise Cigarette Ads Politically nuanced Do not Want Pitted, using semiotic analysis. The purpose of this paper is to obtain the construction of verbal and non-verbal messages of L.A Wise Cigarette Ads. Politically nuanced Don't Want to Be Pitted. Data in the form of image segments amounted to 8 verbal and non verbal messages. The results showed that La Light Wise Cigarette Ads with Political Shades Don't Want to Be Pitted aims to educate the public, to think critically and wisely, to make bold decisions individually or in groups, out of tension, fierce battles, insulting each other, taunting each other, hitting each other in the 2019 presidential election in Indonesia, which threatens unity and integrity. We do not want to be pitted by parties who have an interest in using the presidential election situation, in order to divide unity and integrity. We are still brothers and sisters as one nation, the nation of Indonesia.

Abstract

This research discusses the representation of masculinity in the advertisement of Nivea Men "Changing Extra Bright" and the Adipati Dolken Version of Gatsby Styling Pomade which aims to identify and reveal the meaning of masculinity behind the message. This type of research is qualitative research with Roland Barthes' semiotic model which has core concepts, namely signs, denotations, connotations and myths. The results are masculinity depicted in the two advertisements is divided into two types of masculinity, namely traditional masculinity and new (metrosexual) masculinity. With the myths that were found, namely: (a) Nivea Men 'advertisement' Turns Extra Bright: Self-confidence increases after washing your face and masculinity which is macho. (b) Adipati Dolken version of the Gatsby Styling Pomade: Men today who pay attention to appearance and men with their automotive world. For the analysis of commodification found, namely: (a) Commodification of Content and (b) Commodification of Audiences.

Abstract

Attention economy makes online journalism work with the principle of prioritizing high clickers and viewers. To achieve this goal, journalists apply the clickbait strategy to their journalistic products. This strategy impacts the quality of online news. Nevertheless, clickbait news is still accessed by the public, especially generation Z. This research was conducted to determine the effect of clickbait journalism on the reading interest of generation Z. The method used is a positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The data source was selected using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of respondents being the Z generation who live in Jakarta and have read online news. The results of this study indicate that clickbait journalism has a positive and significant effect on interest in reading generation Z. This finding proves that Loewenstein's information gap theory applies in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the possibilities of podcast designs that can be applied by higher education institutions in Indonesia. Podcast media has benefits in distance learning. However, there is no higher education in Indonesia that uses podcasts to deliver learning material. Therefore, this research synthesizes several models of podcasts that can be mixed and matched by teachers in creating learning podcasts. This article reviews Interest-Driven Learning Design, podcast types, and podcast types. IDLD reviews learning that accommodates students' interests outside the context of the educational environment; the types and types of podcasts review podcast characteristics that can be used as a guide when creating learning content through podcasts

Abstract

Learning shows from home is an educational program broadcast by the Television Station of the Republic of Indonesia (TVRI). This education program is a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Culture with the National TVRI TVRI with the theme of learning at home during the Covid-19 emergency period. The Learning From Home program is an alternative for students and parents of students who do not have facilities to do distance learning where this distance learning requires internet tools and network facilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Learning Show from home at TVRI as a learning medium during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study obtained an overview in the village of Mekar Rahayu in Bandung District on parents of students and elementary school teachers, the results of the study showed that the Learning From Home program on TVRI was quite effective for learning during the Covid-19 emergency period other than helping parents of students who did not have the facilities for the learning of their children also help teachers to recall the children's lessons in the broadcast which had previously been delivered but only a few drawbacks in the category of material delivered.
