Abstract

Babies who are not breastfed are 13 times more likely to die as a child. While breastfeeding is a natural process, many mothers are unable to breastfeed their babies due to several factors, including a lack of maternal knowledge and support and promotion of formula milk. This study aims to determine the relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge of lactation management and breastfeeding practices. The research design used was an observational analytic cross-sectional study. The study population was postpartum mothers at Bhakti Husada Krikilan General Hospital, Banyuwangi, and the sampling technique was purposive sampling, with 34 respondents. Data collection used the Breastfeeding Knowledge Questionnaire to measure knowledge and a questionnaire on exclusive breastfeeding practices. Data analysis used Spearman Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05, resulting in a ρ value of 0.001. This indicates that ρ < α, thus, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This means there is a correlation between postpartum mothers' knowledge of lactation management and breastfeeding practices at Bhakti Husada Krikilan Hospital. Therefore, healthcare workers at the hospital are expected to consistently provide education on lactation management to further enhance the knowledge of postpartum mothers, both those with limited and good knowledge, and to ensure optimal breastfeeding practices..

Abstract

Background: Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections remain a major public health problem in tropical and subtropical regions, particularly among school-aged children. However, evidence on the long-term effectiveness of Mass Drug Administration (MDA) as a primary control strategy remains inconsistent as a standalone intervention. This study aimed to review the effectiveness of MDA in controlling STH infections and to identify complementary measures required for sustainable control. Methods: A literature review was conducted using PubMed and ScienceDirect databases for articles published between 2015 and 2025. Original research articles focusing on school-aged children were screened based on predefined inclusion criteria. Results: The findings showed that repeated rounds of MDA were associated with reductions in STH prevalence and intensity in some settings. Persistent transmission remained evident with prevalence ranging from around 13% to over 80% despite long-term MDA implementation. Continued infection was consistently associated with poor water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions, inadequate hand hygiene practices, and exposure to contaminated water sources. Conclusion: Sustainable control of STH infections requires integrated interventions that combine MDA with improvements in WASH infrastructure, hygiene promotion, and community-based health education to prevent rapid reinfection and achieve long-term public health impact.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea can have significant negative impacts, affecting a woman's quality of life in carrying out daily activities, decreasing work performance, and academic achievement. Several studies have shown an increased risk of menstrual pain in those who are underweight or overweight. This research This study used a quantitative descriptive research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were adolescents in Jember Regency. The sample was taken using purposive sampling. The number of samples obtained was 48 respondents. The statistical test used in the bivariate analysis was chi-square. The results of the study showed that 34 respondents (70.8%) had normal nutritional status and 14 respondents (29.2%) had malnutrition. The level of mild dysmenorrhea pain was 13 respondents (27.1%) and the level of moderate dysmenorrhea pain was 35 respondents (72.9%). The results of the statistical analysis of body mass index with the level of primary dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents with a p-value of 0.046 and an OR value of 7.09. Women with a high BMI will have a greater chance of experiencing higher pain severity than normal women. Excess fat tissue causes pressure on blood vessels, thereby disrupting blood flow and resulting in pain during menstruation. Women with a low BMI are assumed to have inadequate nutritional intake during the luteal phase of menstruation, thereby worsening pain during menstruation.

Abstract

The high threat of tsunami disaster risk and the low knowledge capacity and attitude of cadres mean that it is necessary to provide training to increase the knowledge and attitude of cadres in responding to tsunami disasters. However, there is no effective community-based disaster preparedness training available for cadres to improve knowledge and attitudes. This study aims to determine the effect of community-based disaster preparedness training on the knowledge and attitudes of tsunami cadres in tsunami-prone areas of Padang City. The type of research is pre-experimental using a one group pretest-posttest research design using a double posttest. Respondents were cadres in Ulak Karang Utara Subdistrict, Padang City, totaling 20 respondents using total sampling. The intervention carried out was providing community-based disaster preparedness training to cadres for one day. The knowledge and attitude instruments were created by researchers and have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used the repeated ANOVA test. There was an increase in the average value of knowledge pre-test and post-test 1 (8,05 ± 1,905 vs 10,00 ± 1,257), and there was a decrease in the average value of post-test 1 and post-test 2 (10,00 ± 1,257 vs 9,65±1,531). There was an increase in the average attitude value of pre-test and post-test 1 (51,35 ± 4,603 vs 54,05 ±4,359), as well as post-test 1 and post-test 2 (54,05 ± 4,359 vs 54,95 ± 2,781). There was an effect of disaster preparedness training on knowledge (p<0,001) and attitudes of cadres (p = 0,003). Providing community-based disaster preparedness training has a significant influence on the knowledge and attitudes of cadres.

Abstract

The National Health Insurance (JKN) program managed by BPJS Kesehatan is an effort by the Indonesian government to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Since its implementation in 2014, BPJS Kesehatan has been facing financial deficits due to low participant compliance in paying premiums. Low Ability to pay and Willingness to pay, especially among low-income communities, as well as negative perceptions of service quality, are the main factors causing arrears. This condition has the potential to threaten the sustainability of the JKN program, so it is necessary to study the influence of ATP and WTP on participant compliance as a basis for formulating more targeted and data-based policies. Research Objectives. To determine the influence of Ability to pay and Willingness to pay on BPJS premium payment compliance in the community in Mojosongo Village, Surakarta. Research Design. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design. Research Subjects. Abstract

Digital transformation in the healthcare sector has driven the adoption of online outpatient registration systems to improve service efficiency and reduce patient queues. However, at Jati Husada General Hospital in Karanganyar, offline registration remains dominant for BPJS patients. This situation suggests factors influencing the choice of registration system. This study aims to analyze factors such as age, education, income, patient satisfaction, and service quality in the BPJS outpatient registration system. The study used a quantitative descriptive-analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 2,021 BPJS outpatient visits in March 2025, with a sample of 105 respondents selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a 95% significance level (α=0.05). The results showed that age (p=1.000), education (p=0.339), income (p=0.414), and service quality (p=0.109) did not significantly influence the outpatient registration system. Conversely, patient satisfaction had a significant effect (p=0.007). It is concluded that patient satisfaction is a factor that influences the outpatient registration system, so improving patient experience and comfort needs to be a priority in developing the service system.
