Abstract

The research was conducted to improve the Critical Thinking Capability in detail: 1) Describe the thematic-integrative worksheet on integrated IPA Subjects, 2) Measure the critical thinking skills of students as the effect of the thematic-integrative Worksheet material, and 3) Describe the student's response to the teaching material Worksheet thematic-integrative. The resulting product development is an thematic-integrative Worksheet to support a learning process that can improve critical thinking skills. The thematic-integrative worksheets developed have met the criteria of validity and according to the expert. The test results have shown that the thematic-integrative Worksheet teaching materials are more effective. All learning tools used are in valid categories and are eligible for use. The results of the first trial showed that students' critical thinking skills were averaged 76.7 (critical categories), while the second test reached an average of 84.4 (very critical). Based on the analysis result, it is found that the thematic-integrative worksheet developed can develop critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Based on the observations and interviews of some physics teachers, it was found that the teacher felt that he had tried to improve the learning techniques in the classroom. But the activity and achievement of student learning not yet according to expected result. The learning pattern applied is teacher-center learning. Therefore, this is very inconsistent with the characteristics of science learning. PhET (Physics Education Technology) application program is one of the learning tools that requires students to take an active role during the learning process. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles to determine the effectiveness of learning. Each cycle takes place in two sessions. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementation of action, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The subject of the research is the students of class IX.1 SMPN 2 Lingsar. The results of the evaluation of cycles I and II showed a significant increase. The average score of student learning activity increased from 7.95 to 11.39 (medium to high category) and the average student evaluation score increased from 62.5 to 76.65. We concluded that the PhET application program is effective for increasing activity and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know to improve the aktivities and achievement stundents’ at the VIII-F class of SMPN 11 Mataram of the material optics in learning about Think Talk Write (TTW). This research was used Classroom Action Research (CAR). In this research was action cycle II to students VIII-F class of SMPN 11 Mataram, which consist of 30 students. The result in this research in cycle I was 55,55% which categories enough, although to cycle II was 72.22% which categories anough, the scores of observation in teach by teacher in cycle I was 77,27% which categories good, in cycle II was 90,90% which catergories good. The mean of the students achievement in cycle I was 78 which classical completeness was 73,33%, in cycle II was 86 which classical completeness 86,66%. Therefore, based on the research can be concluded that there learning model Think Talk Write (TTW) in the material optics can improve aktivities and students achievement at the VIII-F class of SMPN 11 Mataram in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This research aim to increase students’ critical thinking skill by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This research is class room action research which use the quantitative approach. Subject of the research is VIII grade students’ and object of the research is students’ critical thinking skill in SMPN 5 Narmada. The instrument of the research is the critical thingking skill test. The data collection technique in this research is test and observation sheet, the test is used to measure the critical thingking skill whether the observation sheet is used to measure students’ and teacher activity. The result of research shows that the application of Contxtual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach can increase students’ critical thinking skill. This can be seen from the data analysis result where the I cyrcle reach 49,91 and the II cyrcle reach 80,00 which involve in critical category.

Abstract

This study was aimed to analyzethe effect of project based learning model to understanding concepts  and critical thinking skills in optics lecture at undergraduate student of Physics Educational Program of IKIP Mataram in academic year 2013/2014. This study included in quasi experiment with posttest onlycontrol group design. All of 75 populations are included as sample. The datawere analyzed with multivariate analysis (MANOVA).The conclusion can be stated based on analysis result is (1) project based learning model having an effect on understandingconcepts of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 37,88 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05. (2) project based learning model having an effect on critical thinking skill of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 5,47 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05. (3) project based learning model having an effect on both understandingconcepts and critical thinking of undergraduate students ((Fcal = 34,86 > Ftable = 3,91), with pvalue<0,05.

Abstract

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk (1) meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa, (2) meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, dengan menerapkan pendekatan Sains-Teknologi-Masyarakat dan Lingkungan (STML) dalam pembelajaran Rangkaian Listrik dan Hukum Ohm. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-C MAN Sengkol tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 (dua) siklus dengan teknik pengumpulan data; (1) data aktivitas belajar dikumpul dengan pedoman observasi, (2) data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan tes hasil belajar. Selanjutnya data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi kurang aktif dengan rata-rata 6,91 pada siklus I menjadi kualifikasi aktif dengan rata-rata 11,72 pada siklus II, (2) hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dari kualifikasi belum tuntas dengan rata-rata 65,4 pada siklus I dan ketuntasan klasikal 57,78% meningkat menjadi rata-rata 74,16 dan ketuntasan klasikal 86,67% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan STML dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran rangkaian listrik dan hukum Ohm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in physics student learning achievement which using the worksheet oriented thinking abilityinductive with deductive. This research is experimental research (quasy experimental design). The study population was all students of class X in SMKN 3 Mataram with the study sample consisted of two classes, X GEO B and X TSM B. X GEO B class taught using worksheet  oriented thinking ability inductive and X TSM B class taught using worksheet oriented thinking ability deductive. Instruments in this study using multiple-choice test. The results of post-test data analysis obtained the average value of the two classes of samples is 81.27 (X GEO B) and 72.25 (X TSM B) so obtained tcount = 3.56, while ttable = 2.00 at significance level of 5% so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted. These results show that there are differences in physics learning outcomes of students who use the worksheet oriented thinking ability inductive with deductive.

Abstract

This study is a quasi experimental study that aims to determine the effect of using direct instruction model with animation media to the academic achievement of physiscs in student class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar that were 87 students. Whereas the students of class VIIIA which are 22 students as the experimental group and 22 students of class VIIIC as a control group. Sampling methode was random cluster sampling. The Research design using pre-test - post-test control group design. Based on Pre-test result, the average mark of class VIIIA and class VIIIC were 24.70 and 28.95, respectively. Post-test result gave the information that the average mark of class VIIIA and class VIIIC were 79.29 and 71.62 respectively. Research hypotesis was analyzed using polled varians t-test. It can be concluded that there was a different in physics academic achievement between experimental group and control group, where the experimental group using direct  instruction model with animation media as the treatment and the control group using direct instruction only. The academic achievement of experimental group were better than control group, it can be a reason to say that the treatment by using direct instruction model with animation media gave the positive effect to the academic achievement of physiscs in student class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Batu Layar.

Abstract

[Title: The Effect of Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving Learning Model Toward Student Physics Science Learning Outcomes]. This study aims to determine the effect of learning model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving on the results of science learning Physics Class VIII SMPN 6 Praya Timur. This research is a quasi-experimental research with Posttes -Only Control Design research design. The samples of this research are taken using Purposive Sampling technique with class VIIIc as the experiment class is 24 students and VIIId as the control class is 24 students. The instrument used in the form of test description in the form of 10 questions that are tailored to the learning indicators. The result of data analysis obtained using t-test at 5% significant level shows that the value of tcount> ttable (tcount = 0.634 & ttable = 0201) then Ha in receipt. so it can be concluded that the learning model Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving can affect the results of science learning Physics Student.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of contextual approaches based on learning community in SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung in 2017/2018 Academic Year. This research is a classroom action research. Actions are carried out through two cycles, each cycle consisting of the process of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test instrument. The subjects of this study were 26 students of class VIII-4 of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung. The results of the study showed that in the cycle I the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes was 76% with an average score of 74.23, while in the cycle II the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes was 92% with an average score of 85.34. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the implementation of contextual approaches based on learning community can improve student learning outcomes.
