Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how the relationship between mathematical creative ability and self-efficacy of vocational students. The research method used in this research is correlational research, where the purpose of this research to see the relationship between two variables. Where the population is taken is all students of SMK on one SMK in Cmahi City, and taken a sample of one class. In the form of a test of creative thinking test in the form of a description of 5 questions and non-test in the form of self-efficacy questionnaire as many as 30 statements The Questionnaire Score is then transformed using Method of Successive Interval (MSI), then tested the correlation using Product Moment Pearson and Spearman. From the results of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between the ability of mathematical creative thinking and self-efficacy of students in learning mathematics

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical communication abilities in terms of selft concept of studens of class VIII junior high school 10 Cimahi. This research method is included in this type of research descriptive research is qualitative, describes approach the errors of students in answering questions mathematical communication seen from selft concept. The research in the test to 22 students in the sample in this study is 9 students. The determination of the sampling is done by taking the 3 students that have high self concept, 3 students who have self concept, and 3 student have low self concept. The result of data analysis showed the ability of mathematical communication for students who have hgh self concept that is 2 students showed the test of mathematical communication ability enough and 1 student low. Mathematical communication skills for students who have a moderate self concept that is 2 students showed good mathematical cominication ability test and 1 low students. The ability of mathematical communication for students who have a low selft concept that is 2 student showed less mathematical ability test and 1 students enough.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical connections is an essential skill that must be mastered by high school students, as it will help master understanding of meaningful concepts and help solve mathematical problems through the interrelationship between mathematical concepts and between mathematical concepts and concepts in other disciplines even with applications in real-life students. This study aims to examine the ability of mathematical connections of students in one junior high school in Bandung on Social Arithmetic materials. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with the subject of research is 36 students of class VIII in one of the State Junior High School in Bandung. Instrument given in the form of description test as much as 3 problem each representing indicator ability and analyzed so that get data fulfillment indicator ability of mathematic connection. Based on the data analysis, the students 'mathematical connection ability is still low, so it is necessary to design the learning activities that can facilitate students' mathematical connection ability.

Abstract

This research aims to get results description of application of problem based learning approach in an effort to enhance student learning outcomes as well as knowing the increase in mathematical problem solving ability grade VII MTs on comparison of material and scale. The methods used in this research in the research conducted through two cycles of activity, and each cycles as much as 2 meeting. The subjek of this research is the teacher and all students of classes VII-B of 30 people. The object of this research are mathematical problem solving ability of students and the analysis undertaken aiming to find out the types of difficulties, hardships, cause factors and how the students in difficulty against handling problem solving math.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical connection ability of the students of Pasundan Middle School 1 Cimahi class VII-D in the school year 2018-2019. The subjects taken were 9 students with category 3 high-ability students, 3 moderate-capable students, and 3 low-ability students. The approach used in accordance with the 2013 curriculum is a scientific approach with discovery learning models. Data obtained from the results of student answers. The process of data analysis is the process of answering students on each question that measures indicators of students' mathematical communication skills. From the results of the study, it was found that high-ability students could master three indicators, namely using inter-collaborative mathematical relationships, using interrelationships between mathematical topics and topics outside mathematics, understanding equivalent representations of the same concepts. Students who are capable of mastering two indicators, namely using relationships between topics, understanding equivalent representations of the same concept. Low-ability students master an indicator that is understanding equivalent representations of the same concept. From the results of the study, it was found that high-ability students can master three indicators namely connecting images to mathematical ideas, expressing daily events in language or mathematical symbols and explaining the idea of situations and mathematical relations with images. Students who are capable of mastering two indicators namely connecting images into mathematical ideas, expressing daily events in language or mathematical symbols and explaining the idea of the situation. Low-ability students only master one indicator which is connecting images into mathematical ideas. On an attitude scale, students have high self-esteem. This can be viewed from the responses of students who respond more positively.Keywords: Connection Ability, Communication Ability, Self ConfidenceAbstrakTujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa SMP Pasundan 1 Cimahi kelas VII-D tahun pelajaran 2018-2019. Subjek yang diambil berjumlah 9 orang siswa dengan kategori 3 siswa berkemampuan tinggi, 3 siswa berkemampuan sedang, dan 3 siswa berkemampuan rendah. Pendekatan yang digunakan sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 yaitu pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Data diperoleh dari hasil jawaban siswa. Proses analisis data yaitu proses jawaban siswa pada setiap soal yang mengukur indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa yang berkemampuan tinggi dapat menguasai tiga indikator yaitu menggunakan hubungan antartopik matematika, menggunakan keterkaitan antar topik matematika dengan topik diluar matematika, memahami representasi ekuivalen konsep yang sama. Siswa berkemampuan sedang menguasai dua indikator yaitu menggunakan hubungan antar topik, memahami representasi ekuivalen konsep yang sama. Siswa berkemampuan rendah menguasai satu indikator yaitu memahami representasi ekuivalen konsep yang sama. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa siswa yang berkemampuan tinggi dapat menguasai tiga indikator yaitu menghubungkan gambar ke dalam idea matematika, menyatakan peristiwa sehari-hari dalam bahasa atau symbol matematika dan menjelaskan idea situasi dan relasi matematik dengan gambar. Siswa berkemampuan sedang menguasai dua indikator yaitu menghubungkan gambar kedalam idea matematika, menyatakan peristiwa sehari-hari dalam bahasa atau symbol matematika dan menjelaskan idea situasi . Siswa berkemampuan rendah hanya menguasai satu indikator yaitu menghubungkan gambar kedalam idea matematika. Pada skala sikap, siswa memiliki rasa percaya diri yang tinggi. Hal ini dapat ditinjau dari respon siswa yang lebih banyak merespon positif.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Koneksi, Kemampuan Komunikasi, Kepercayaan Diri

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of  implementing reciprocal teaching approach as an attempt to improve students’ mathematical representation in class IX-B MTs Al-Musyahadah Cimahi on the curved-face three-dimensional-object. The type of research, which applied, is classroom action research. The classroom action research consists of 2 (two) cycles based on teaching syllabus of the mathematics teacher in class IX-B. Each cycle was conducted based on the learning objectives. The cycle in this study involved the following procedures: (1) Planning; (2) Implementation of action; (3) Observation and evaluation; (4) Reflection. Based on the result of research conducted on the students of class IX-B MTs Al-Musyahadah on the curved-face three-dimensional-object  material, it revealed the fact that the use of reciprocal teaching approach can improve the ability of mathematical representation, which are;  (1) responses and learning outcomes shown in cycle II are primly good, and (2) the students’ score of mathematical representation test capability in each cycle has improve significantly, until 87% on the last cycle . Moreover, the results showed that there are only 4 students from total 29 students who obtain score below 65. Therefore, Learning by applying reciprocal teaching approach is very effective to use in learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the mathematical connection ability and self esteem of high school students in West Bandung. In this study the method used is a Descriptive Qualitative Method that aims to analyze the results of student answers to mathematical connections as well as high school student self-esteem search questionnaires in West Bandung. The subjects of this study were 20 students in one of the high schools in West Bandung. As for the tests given in the form of questions about mathematical connections as many as 4 questions and non-test questions self-esteem is intended for each student. The results of the analysis obtained based on written description tests are the mathematical connection ability of high school students in West Bandung on indicators using the relation between mathematical topics by 23%, in the second indicator that is to find connections between procedures to other procedures equivalent to 30%, then on the indicator connecting with other fields of study were 12% and on indicators applied mathematics to everyday problems, by 20%. Meanwhile for self esteem students in high school in West java based on self esteem search questionnaire is still relatively low.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to analyze the level of students' reasoning ability in solving the problem on material function limit by categorizing high, medium, and low mathematical reasoning ability. The subjects of the study were 20 students of class XII. A form of data retrieval is the provision of 4 items about written tests and interviews on selected subjects. Based on the results of the analysis, the average value of the whole matter of the instrument of mathematical reasoning ability derives 89% for the indicator performing calculations based on the applicable mathematical formula or rules, 84% and 64% of the indicators draw conclusions and 93% for the indicator to make the estimate so that if totaled and averaged 83%. Then the mathematical reasoning ability of high school students of class XII is appertaininghigh.

Abstract

This research to find out in depth about the relationship of self confidence to the ability to problem solving mathematics SMK students. The population in this research is SMK in Cipatat. Instrument in this research in the form of description of ability of mathematics  problem solving as much as 5 item, and self confidence questionnaire of student as much 30 statement. Methods in this research using correlational research  methods. The result of this research shows that there is a correlation (r) value on Person Corellation between self confidence with students’ mathematics problem solving ability is 0,597**. Form these results show the level of relationships that are classified and indicate the direction of a positive relationship

Abstract

Extracurricular activity is an activity related to co-curricular and intracuticular in school. One of the main objectives of this extracurricular activity as a place for students who have the interest to follow the activity. This activity can form a positive attitude of students. This study aims to determine the effect of extracurricular activities on the ability of students' mathematical understanding in SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah. The research method used is a quantitative method with the help of IBM SPSS Statistic 24 applications. The sample used in this study is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah who follow extracurricular and do not follow extracurricular. Students who follow extracurricular become experimental class and students who do not follow extracurricular become control class. The results of this study are the ability of students' understanding of mathematics in SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah who follow extracurricular and do not follow extracurricular have significant differences. Students who follow extracurricular activities have a better understanding of mathematics than students who do not follow extracurricular activities. Seen based on the existing data obtained the average of the experimental class is 41.8 and the control class 34.4. It gives some influence to the students' comprehension ability that is, giving positive values and good personality for the students, such as thinking creatively and wisely in determining the action, attitude, and decision.
