Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh dari penerapan pendekatan discvery learning dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa di kelas XI Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak B SMK Negeri di kota Cimahi pada materi program linear. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini berjenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari dua siklus yang berdasar kepada silabus pengajaran guru matematika pada kelas XI Rekayasa pelangkat Lunak B. Setiap siklus dilakukan berdasarkan tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam pembelajaran. Siklus dalam penelitian ini meliputi prosedur sebagai berikut: (1) Perencanaan; (2) Pelakasanaan tindakan; (3) Observasi dan evaluasi; (4) Refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas XI Rekayasa pelangkat Lunak B pada materi program linear bahwasanya penggunaan pendekatan discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematik, yaitu: (1) Respon dan hasil belajar yang ditunjukkan siswa pada siklus II tergolong sangat baik dan (2) Nilai tes kemampuan penalaran matematik siswa pada setiap siklus mengalami pengingkatan dengan baik, hingga pada siklus terakhir menunjukkan hasil 86%. Berdasarkan hasil tes terlihat bahwa hanya terdapat 5 siswa dari total 36 siswa yang memilki nilai dibawah 60. Pembelajaran dengan menerapkan pendekatan discovery learning sangat efektif untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical connections of vocational students. The research population is all students of class X SMK in one of School Cimahi City. The sample taken is one class X in the private SMK as the experimental class. The research method used in this study is quasi-experimental method. Instruments in this study is a set of description tests to determine the ability of students' mathematical connections. Based on result of data analysis, it can be concluded that students' mathematical ability with CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) has high category with 5% significance level.

Abstract

SMA/SMK was the last high school before going to College. High school students/CMS are at the stages of adolescent age. The World Health Organization (1974) set the age limit of 10-20 years as a teenage limit (Sarwono,2008). Based on a review of the theory of progression, the age of adolescence is a time of onset of rapid changes, such as physical changes, changes in fundamental aspects of cognitive, emotion, social and achievement. Teens experiencing instability from time to time and they try to adopt new behavior from the previous development phases (Soetjiningsih,2004).  Teens often have problems because of her unstable and still has not been formed in cooked. The attitude of the labile affected the level of confidence, such as the fearless try and there are times when his minder with her own.

Abstract

This research uses classroom action research consisting of planning, action implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The aim is to improve the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students through Problem Based Learning approach in class VIII-A SMP Darul Falah on Linear Two Variable Equation System. The instrument in this research is a description test of mathematical connection capability with three stages: initial test (before action), cycle test I and II (after action). The results showed the achievement of students' mathematical connection ability on the material of Linear Equation System Two Variables in grade VIII-A students of SMP Darul Falah can be improved through Problem Based Learning approach.

Abstract

The research has a purpose to analyze students' difficulties in solving equation of problem solving ability on linear equations and linear inequalities material. This type of research is a qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were 24 students of class X MA Al - Mubarok. The selection of subjects based on consideration, that is the advice of teacher. Data collection techniques used in this research are the documentation method in the form of student test results with the subject of equations and linear inequalities. Based on the results of research and discussion, the level of problem solving ability of students in the low category, especially in the indicator of re-examining the results of solving the problem. This can be caused by the students' mathematical problem solving ability is still low

Abstract

The present research and development project aims to develop and describe the quality of learning material consisting of lesson plans and student worksheets to facilitate students mathematical justification skills. The learning material is based on problem-based learning (PBL) approach and learning trajectory on the Cartesian Coordinate System. This project uses the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subject of this research is 32 students in VIIIC SMPN 2 Bambang Lipuro. Based on the result of the validation assessment, the lesson plan and student worksheets are very valid. Based on the result of practicality using a student questionnaire, the learning material is practical. Based on the result of practicality using the observation sheet of learning implementation, the learning material is very practical. Based on the effectiveness assessment using the students mathematical justification skill test, 75% of students have minimum mathematical justification skills in the good category. However, based on the z-test, the learning material is not effective because zcount = 0,6172 < zα =1,654. So, the learning material is valid and practice to be implemented, but not yet effective to facilitate student’s justification skills. It was possibly due to obstacles happening during the implementation, like the implementation of PBL needs more time than it planed, and some students did not do the writing task.Keywords: learning material, PBL, learning trajectory, mathematical justification skills

Abstract

In this study the authors analyzed the difficulties of students in the process of mathematical problem solving skills and to determine the disposition of students on each item statement. Based on the analysis, for SPLDV material the mistakes made by students in working on mathematical problem solving problems lie in the indicators of understanding the problem only reaching 34% and the average percentage of students' mathematical problem solving abilities in the category instruments. The instrument used is a question that has been tested for reliability, validity , different power and difficulty indexes have also been validated by expert validators. The mathematical disposition of junior high school students is only 65% of the SPLDV material. Indicators of student interest and reflection in learning get the smallest percentage, which is 61%, thus influencing other indicators. The research method uses descriptive qualitative analysis to find out in depth the achievement of indicators of problem solving abilities and mathematical dispositions on each item statement. Based on the results of the overall research that the achievement of indicators of problem solving abilities and student dispositions is high.

Abstract

This research aims to know how much the mathematical disposition ability of junior high school students in West Bandung Regency contributes to mathematics learning achievement in the material of equations and one variable linear inequality. The data collection was done by giving a questionnaire and analyzing students’ achievement from daily test scores in the material of equations and one variable linear inequality. The population of this research were seventh grade students in West Bandung Regency, with the selected sample by using simple random sampling technique are 25 students of class VII-F in SMP Negeri 1 Gununghalu. Meanwhile, the disposition questionnaire was made based on following indicators; (1) self-confidence (2) persistence or perseverance (3) open thinking or perseverance (4) interest and curiosity (5) monitor and reflect (6) Respect the usefulness of mathematics. The results showed that there was a significant linear relationship between mathematical disposition and student learning achievement, with a contribution of mathematical disposition of 13.8% to student learning achievement on the material equation and one variable linear inequality, and 86.2% influenced by other variables.

Abstract

Comprehensive is one of the important mathematical abilities which is important to be mastered by the student, especially in high school. Mathematical comprehension ability become one of the basic skills that to be mastered by the student. Focus in the research is to the analyse the student  difficulties  in solve direct proportion and inverse proportion values to aspects of mathematical comprehension ability in associate something to something correctly and realize to the process.  This research used descriptive qualitative with research subject which is used 6 person. The results of this research showed that student ability in associate something to something else correctly and realize the process on the proportion material has accumulated average percentage of 78%.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of Advanced Mathematical Thinking in students whose learning uses the Knisley Mathematical model compared to those using ordinary learning. The research method used is quantitative with Pretest-Postest-Only design, with the instrument used is the Advanced Mathematical Thinking test instrument with 3 categories of questions. Learning is carried out applied to one of the courses at the basic level, Trigonometry. The results obtained from this study are students whose learning using the Knisley mathematical model in Trigonometry courses is better improved than those using ordinary learning, the most prominent results are in the ability of representation and the results that still tend to be low are in the ability of abstraction.
