Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pencapaian kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa baik ditinjau secara keseluruhan maupun ditinjau dari kemampuan awal siswa SMP kategori rendah, sedang dan tinggi yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode inkuiri terbimbing dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa dilihat secara keseluruhan pencapaian kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa tidak terdapat perbedaan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran dengan inkuiri terbimbing daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Namun dilihat berdasarkan kemampuan awal siswa kategori rendah lebih baik antara siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa, begitupun dengan kategori siswa dengan kemampuan awal sedang lebih baik siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing daripada siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Akan tetapi untuk siswa dengan kategori kemampuan awal tinggi tidak terdapat perbedaan antara siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbinng dengan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Hal tersebut disebabkan beberapa faktor yang akan  peneliti ungkap pada pembahasan penelitian ini. Dalam pelaksanaannya pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing berjalan dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing, Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis.  ABSTRACT This study aims to assess the achievement of junior high school students 'mathematical reasoning abilities in accordance with the students' ability both in terms in whole or in terms of the ability of junior high school students beginning the category of low, medium and high gain with guided inquiry method of learning by students who received regular learning. Results of the study revealed that seen overall achievement of students' mathematical reasoning skills students that there is no difference with the use of guided inquiry learning than students who use regular learning. But seen by the ability of students' initial lower category better among students who use guided inquiry learning than students who use ordinary learning, as well as with the category of students with prior knowledge were better students who use guided inquiry learning than students who use regular learning. However, for students with high initial capability category there is no difference between students who use terbimbinng inquiry learning with students who use regular learning. This is due to several factors that will researchers said in the discussion of this study. In the implementation of learning by using guided inquiry learning methods work well. Keywords: Guided Inquiry Learning, Mathematical Reasoning Ability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical connections of vocational students. The research population is all students of class X SMK in one of School Cimahi City. The sample taken is one class X in the private SMK as the experimental class. The research method used in this study is quasi-experimental method. Instruments in this study is a set of description tests to determine the ability of students' mathematical connections. Based on result of data analysis, it can be concluded that students' mathematical ability with CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) has high category with 5% significance level.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the enhancement of students ' mathematical problem solving skills. This research uses experimental methods. The population is a class VII junior high, while the sampling is a class VII one of the junior high schools in Cimahi, consisting of two classes, the VII E class being an experimental class while the VII D became the control class. Both classes were given pretes at the beginning of the meeting and Postes at the end of the meeting. The instrument used is 5 items about the mathematical troubleshooting description. Based on the Mann Whitney non parametric test that acquired significance was 0.000. The conclusion that resulted in this research is the enhancement of mathematical problem solving skills of students who are using the approach of possing problem better than using scientific approach. Learning using the approach trains the students in making problems and answering them so that mathematical problem-solving skills can increase.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the types of mistakes made by students in solving the problem of building a flat rectangle. This type of research is a qualitative descripive. With a research sample of 9 grade VII students taken randomly. The problem is about the instrument used in the connection capability test in the form of 5 rounds of essay. Methods performed using qualitative descriptive. Based on the data analysis obtained as much as 11.1% of students doing careless errrors (Ca), 33.3% of students made the error Concept errors (Co), 22.2% of students made a mistake application errors (Ap), 22.2% of students made a mistake Test Taking Errors (Te). It means that the whole student still feels difficulties in resolving the problem relating to the concept of a rectangular flat build.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving questions on relations and function material, based on the Kastolan stages. In this study, a qualitative descriptive method was used. This research was conducted on Class VIII students of SMPN 4 Cimahi with 29 participants. Data was collected through a written test consisting of 5 description questions, and any mistakes made by students were explained based on the Kastolan stages. To analyze the data, the researcher performed data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The research results obtained that in the work of students found conceptual errors occurred because the students misunderstood the concept and did not know the formula to be used. Procedural errors occur because students do not write down or do not know the completion procedure, which indicates the student fails to continue the settlement procedure. Technical errors occur because participants do not understand the basic concepts properly, so students make calculation errors when solving problems. The conclusion from the results of this study is that it was found that students still experienced these three types of errors in solving the description questions on the material relations and functions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze students’ mathematical communication abilities in solving a problem in the material of one variable equation. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method by taking the research subjects of class VII junior high school students, totaling 32 students with upper, middle, and lower KAM classifications. To obtain data, the technique used is to analyze test questions based on indicators of communication skills. The results of the first indicator, namely stating daily events in mathematica symbols, were found to be 34% of students, KAM upper students 11 people, middle 7 people, lower 14 people. The second indicator is explaining ideas orally and in writing with pictures, graphs, and algebra, with 3% of students,  KAM upper students 1 people, middle 1 people, lower 30 people. The third indicator is connecting real objects, pictures, and diagrams to the mathematical ideas of 16% of students, KAM upper students 5 people, middle 3 people, lower 24 people. Based on the results of the analysis, the indicators of the students’ mathematical communication ability in terms of are still below average so it can be concluded that it is lacking.

Abstract

Analyzing students' learning obstacle in working on questions on statistics material is the main objective of this research. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. This research used a sample of 25 students from class VIII A of SMPN 7 Cimahi. Purpose sampling technique was used for data collection. Data collection using a test instrument consisted of 3 questions. The technique used to analyze data is to objectively describe the results of students' work, and data processing uses qualitative analysis. According to the results, students face three types of obstacles: ontogenic obstacle, namely conceptual errors, epistemological obstacle, namely difficulties in the process, and finally didactical obstacle, namely difficulties given by the teacher. The research results revealed that 5 students were categorized as good and 13 students were categorized as fair.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of class VIII students. The aim of the research is to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Discovery Learning model on students' mathematical communication skills, by comparing the experimental class that uses the Discovery Learning model and the control class that uses conventional learning. This research method is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design in two groups (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design). The research subjects consisted of students from class VIII-A as the control class and VIII-B as the experimental class, each numbering 25 people at SMP Negeri 2 Takokak. The data collection technique uses instruments to test students' mathematical communication skills on the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). Students' mathematical communication ability tests were given twice at pretest and posttest. Data processing and analysis uses the Microsoft Excel 2021 application and SPSS 25 software. The results of the research show that the effectiveness of students' mathematical communication skills who learn through the Discovery Learning model is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to find out about the learning interests of junior high school students in learning social arithmetic after learning using liveworksheets. In this study using a qualitative descriptive research method, the research subjects were 7th grade junior high school students at SMPN 14 Cimahi. The sample used in this study was 30 students. The research instrument used was an interest in learning mathematics scale questionnaire referring to 4 indicators containing 20 statements according to the indicators of interest in learning with a large number of statements totaling 12 positive statements and 8 negative statements. The implementation of distributing questionnaires is a data collection techniques in this study. Data processing techniques with reference to the results of student answers are described using the criteria for the percentage of interest in learning. The indicators of interest in learning are as follows (1) feeling happy, (2) student interest, (3) student engagement, and (4) indicate attention while studying. The findings obtained from analyzing this study indicate that the average student interest in learning is 80,5% with very good criteria, so the use of liveworksheets is proven to be very helpful for students in building their interest in learning in social arithmetic learning.

Abstract

Students' mathematical problem solving ability is very influential on learning outcomes that can be implemented in everyday life. However, the facts in the field show that students' mathematical problem solving skills are still low. The purpose of this research is to analyze student difficulties in set material in terms of problem solving theory according to Polya's model. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through a test instrument of mathematical problem solving ability on set material with the applied subjects, namely 32 seventh grade students from one of the State Junior High Schools in Cipeundeuy District. Based on the results obtained, the students' ability to solve math problems based on polya steps is high. However, there were still some errors in the results of student answers in solving problem solving questions, including: not writing down what was known, what was asked, and not describing these elements, the process of planning problem solving was not systematic, not understanding the problem, errors in internal calculation of answers and conclusions which are not in accordance with the results of the solution.
