Abstract

In this study using classroom action research.  The goal is to find out information on the application of the discovery learning  model to online learning of set materials to improve the learning outcomes of junior high school students. With the implementation of research on class VII-E students at one state junior high school in Cimahi City, totaling 37 people. This class action research is carried out in 2 cycles, where each cycle has 2 meetings. The research instrument uses observations, study test results, and journals conducted online. Analyze the data in the form of average and percentage results with descriptive statistics. The average score of 71.64 with a percentage of 56.75% is the learning outcome of students in the first cycle and the average score of 80.74 with a percentage of 86.48% is the learning outcome of students in cycle II. The activities of teachers and students in each cycle in online learning are quite good and effective but there is something that needs to be improved in student activity during the online learning process. It is concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in online learning, so the discovery learning  model can be applied to class VII students of the set material.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to understand basic concepts and students' interest in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes through the use of Problem-Based Learning in class X mathematics subjects. The research method used was qualitative and quantitative data analysis, with the research subjects of all 34 students of class X. Based on the processing and results of data analysis, the application of the Problem-Based Learning model in mathematics learning has increased after the actions of cycle I, II, and cycle III were held. Student learning outcomes in the first cycle have an average grade of 73.5%, student learning outcomes in the second cycle have slightly increased, namely the average grade of 81.4% and classical absorption of 73.5%, then proceed to the cycle III and experienced an even better improvement, with an average grade of 83.5% and classical absorption of 88.2%. The conclusion of this research is that learning mathematics using Problem-Based Learning can improve the learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Karya Pembangunan Cicalengka.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the various errors made by students in solving story problems on the material of linear equations and inequalities of one variable. This study uses data analysis techniques, namely a method in processing data into information. The types of error indicators used are errors according to Newman. The subjects of the study were eighth grade students of SMPN 03 Gununghalu. Data collection used written test and interview methods. Based on the results, there were several errors made by the subject, namely the subject made an error in capturing the information contained in the story questions so that the subject had difficulty in completing the next process, based on these errors the subject was also unable to change the problem into a mathematical model and did not write a conclusion. of the answer.

Abstract

This aims study to analyze the mathematical comprehension ability of student in calculus course. Sample of research is student of informatics engineering at Universitas Mitra Karya. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used in this study included conducting preparatory activities, testing mathematical comprehension in the form of essays tested for validity, power, and difficulty index, collecting data, and distributing data. to analyze and draw conclusions. The instrument is a math comprehension test in the form of 5 text questions. The results of some math comprehension tests still show below average results. From this it can be concluded that students' understanding is still relatively low. As for the student’s difficulties in solved the problem of mathematical comprehension ability for indicators of identifying and making examples and not examples, changing one form of representation to another, and identifying the properties of a concept.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe students' mathematical critical thinking skills through a scientific approach to the subject matter of algebraic forms in grade VII SMP Pataruman. This research uses classroom action research method. The subjects of this study were 25 students of class VII-A of SMP Pataruman Cihampelas in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This research was conducted through 2 cycles, each of which was carried out by following the procedures, namely planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The first cycle was carried out by distance learning (online), while the second cycle was carried out face-to-face (offline). The data collection instruments used in this study were test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest, learning independence questionnaires, and observation sheets for teacher and student activities. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills in grades VII-A of SMP Pataruman on the subject matter of algebra by applying a scientific approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Cimahi with the “Realistic Mathematical Education approach”. This research method is classroom action research. The subject of this research is 15 students from VII grades. The device used in this research is an essay test with 4 questions. The test is used to reveal students' mathematics learning outcomes. As a data analysis of student mathematics learning outcomes in the first cycle are students who have completed (33%) and students have not completed (67%), while in cycle II students who have completed become (73%) and have not completed (27%) the average value the class increased in the first cycle = 58 while the class average value in the second cycle = 79 which significantly increased, thus according to the results of the data analysis obtained, it was concluded that through the Realistic Mathematical Education Learning approach, students were able to improve mathematics learning outcomes in class X software engineering.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of a scientific approach in improving the learning outcomes on the material of Relations and Functions. The research subjects were students of class VIII-D of SMP Pataruman for the academic year 2021/2022 as many as 20 people. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles consisting of four meetings. The stages of this research are: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. This stage is applied repeatedly to achieve the target so that student learning outcomes experience an increase in the mastery of learning scenarios. The results showed that the application of the scientific approach was able to improve learning outcomes in each cycle. It can be shown that the average score in the first cycle was only 57.3% and increased in the second cycle to 81.85%. Student learning outcomes increased by 24.55% from the first cycle to the second cycle. So it can be concluded that the scientific approach is believed to be very effective and has a positive effect on learning that is able to improve student learning outcomes in the material Relations and Functions in class VIII-D SMP Pataruman.

Abstract

The purpose of this survey is the use of problem based learning to increase students' mathematical understanding on the material of logika matematika in class. The population in this survey is students in SMK Negeri 3 Cimahi. The sample of this survey is the students from class XI PH 1 as many as 35 students. This survey application the classroom action research strategy from Kemmis and Taggart which comprises of pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. It is completed in 4 phase, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This survey instrument uses a written test to obtain data on improving students' mathematical understanding abilities. The survey procedure was done by drawing conclusions from the average mathematical understanding ability of students and the percentage of students' mastery with the provisions of the KKM score of 75. The results obtained that the average mathematical understanding ability of students in the pre-cycle was 45 with a complete presentation by 0%, in the cycle. Cycle I improved to 79 with a complete presentation by 69%, in the second cycle it improved again to 87 with a complete presentation by 91% and in the third cycle it improved again to 89 with complete presentation by 94%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the identification of student difficulties in solving set items, using descriptive research methods that emphasize factual findings in the field with the subject of 20 students of SMP class VII in Cimahi. The data collection technique is based on written tests and direct interviews with 5 items as instruments based on predetermined indicators. An analysis of 3 types of difficulty aspects is carried out including: 1).Language, 2). Prerequisites and 3). Applied. Based on the results of the identification, it shows that the achievement of students in solving problems is 80% and some students have difficulty on the 5th item which is categorized as difficult.

Abstract

Mathematical analogy reasoning ability can help students solve two math problems that have the same concept but with different problem forms. Therefore, this article aims to reveal and describe the mathematical analogy reasoning abilities of high school students in solving curved side geometrical problems. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The subjects used were 3 students out of 30 students in class X-3 SMA Negeri 2 Karawang which were obtained from the results of categorizing mathematical analogy reasoning abilities. The data collection technique used was a written test. This ability is measured based on the stages of analogical reasoning, namely encoding, inferring, mapping and applying. Then data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. The results of this article show that of the three subjects who can fulfill the stages of encoding, inferring, mapping and applying, only KA students. NZ students are only able to achieve two stages of analogical reasoning, namely encoding and mapping. Meanwhile, VA students have not been able to fulfill all the stages of mathematical analogy reasoning given. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve students' mathematical analogy reasoning abilities.
