Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in quadratic equations. The method used is Classroom Action Research with the stages of research using the Taggart model. The subjects in this study were class IX students at MTs An-Nur Cikalongwetan with a sample of 15 students. Data collection techniques using test and non-test instruments. The test instruments used were pretest and posttest with indicators of understanding students' mathematical concepts. The non-test instrument was in the form of a questionnaire related to student learning independence. Data analysis using descriptive qualitative with tests processed using N-Gain, while the non-test is processed using a Likert scale. Based on the N-Gain analysis, it was concluded that there was an increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts from the results of the students' pretest and posttest with a total percentage of 62.3% with quite effective criteria. Student learning independence is at an average percentage of 61.04% with strong criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical literacy abilities of class IXA students at SMPN 1 Saguling through PISA type questions on Statistics material. The research was conducted at SMP N 1 Saguling class IXA with a sample of 29 research subjects. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The tool used in this research process is a three-item descriptive test. The research process was carried out by analyzing students' answers/responses to link statistical material with other data and contextual questions which were divided into three levels of competency classification: low, medium and high. The data analysis technique in this study is by condensing data, presenting data, and drawing or verifying conclusions. The results showed that the math literacy skills of the students of SMP Negeri 1 Saguling were moderate based on the test scores/responses collected.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to determine students' understanding of the Cartesian coordinates material for class VIII through the application of the MURDER model (Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review). The subjects in the study were 18th graders at SMP Negeri 1 Cipeundeuy. The research was carried out in two cycles. The technique of collecting research data is by using observation techniques and giving description tests. The results of data collection were processed using qualitative data, these results were obtained from the results of students' pretest and posttest scores. These results can be said to be complete if they get a value of 75. From the results of research conducted by researchers, it showed an increase in the completeness of the description test after the pretest and posttest were carried out in each cycle. In the first cycle, which was carried out using the MURDER learning model, students' mastery increased from 16.67% to 61.6%. Cycle II with the MURDER learning model assisted by LKPD reached 83.3%.

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve student learning outcomes after using the discovery learning model. The subjects of this class action research were 22 students of class VII. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, documentation and also using test questions. The increase in student learning outcomes will be seen based on the value of students in working on individual questions that will be given before and after the delivery of the material. Based on the results of the study, it showed that a) In the initial conditions, the students' test results were 13.64% with an average score of 26.55. b) In the first cycle, student learning outcomes increased to 36.36% with an average value of 55.77 c) Student learning outcomes in the second cycle increased to 72.73% with an average score of 73.14 d) Most of the students' learning outcomes have met the KKM. From the results of this study it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes using the discovery learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the motivation to learn mathematics in social arithmetic material by using a problem based-learning approach. This type of research is CAR using the CAR model design created by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The subjects of this study were 10th graders at SMPN 14 Cimahi. The data collection technique used a learning motivation questionnaire with 5 indicators and 10 questions each 5 positive statements and 5 negative statements. The results of this study indicate an increase in student learning motivation in each cycle with good to very good categories. The use of problem based-learning approach is proven to be able to increase students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical understanding skills on the One Variable Linear Equation (PLSV) material. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the subject of this research are 15 students of class VII in one of the junior high schools in Cimahi who have a Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 7.00. In this study, the instrument used was 5 about the material of One Variable Linear Equation (PLSV) which focused more on mathematical understanding ability, then conducted an initial test before the action (pretest), and the second test after giving the action (posttest). The data collection technique in this study was 5 test questions, then the score data on the pretest and posttest were tested for the difference between the two averages. The results of this study indicate that aspects of students' mathematical understanding abilities have increased which can be seen from the questions tested on each test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the contextual application of students' mathematical understanding abilities has a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes in the one-variable linear equation (PLSV) material.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is an effect of the STAD learning model with the help of Geogebra media on student learning outcomes. This research is an experimental research with a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-post test control group design. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Population This study consisted of all students of class VIII SMP Muhammaduyah 25 Rantau Prapat. The samples in this study were class VIII-B as an experimental class using the Geogebra-assisted STAD learning model of 31 students and class VIII-A as a control class using the learning model. conventional as many as 32 students. The instrument used was a test in the form of an essay. The data analysis technique in this study used the t test especially Paired Sample T-Test. In data analysis using SPSS 22. From the results of the hypothesis analysis, the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. This means that there is an influence on students' mathematics learning outcomes in the material of Straight Line Equations which are taught using the STAD learning model with the help of Geogebra media and conventional learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the Techno mathematics Literacy of non-Mathematics Education Teacher Candidate students in the Research Statistics course. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were 100 non-Mathematics Education students who taught the Research Statistics Course in the Odd Semester of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. Data on learning activities were obtained from the implementation of learning using observation guidelines and data on learning evaluation were obtained from learning evaluation activities based on tests of students' mathematical literacy abilities in the form of document studies, response questionnaires and interview sheets. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the average ability of Techno Mathematics Literacy in the aspects of data literacy, Sense of errors and sense of numbers, and Creative aspects and ability to draw is included in the poor category, while the ability to use computer software and aspects of communication skills are in the Adequate category. Overall, the average Techno Mathematics Literacy of non-Mathematics Education prospective teacher students at IKIP Siliwangi is in the poor category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical problem solving ability of SMP class VIII students in solving story problems on the material of a two-variable linear equation system (SPLDV). This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were 20 grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Haurwangi. The data collection technique used a test technique in the form of descriptive questions, totaling 4 questions and each question representing each indicator of mathematical problem solving ability. The instrument used in this research is in the form of a test of mathematical problem solving ability on the material of linear equations of two variables. Based on the results of the study, the results of the mathematical problem solving ability of students who had low mathematical problem solving abilities were 8 students (40%), the category of moderate mathematical problem solving ability was 7 students (35%) and the category of high mathematical problem solving ability was 5 students (25 %). It can be concluded that the mathematical solving ability of SMP class VIII students in solving story problems on the material of linear equations of two variables is still relatively low.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students at MTs An-Nur class VIII on Cartesian Coordinates using a scientific approach. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects are junior high school students at MTs An-Nur class VIII with a total of 22 students. The research instruments used in this study were pretest and posttest questions on mathematical problem-solving abilities, observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and student learning independence questionnaires. This classroom action research was carried out in 2 cycles, with the stages of the research, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that there was a mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students using a scientific approach.
