The lack of students' mathematical problem solving abilities causes difficulties in solving problems, especially with statistical data. The research objective is to describe students' abilities in solving mathematical problems related to statistics. Qualitative methods are used as research methods. Participants who were taken as research subjects consisted of 80 class VIII students of SMPN 1 Parongpong. Subjects were divided into three groups, namely students with high abilities (10), students with moderate abilities (45), and students with low abilities (25). Data collection techniques used test questions in the form of student math problem solving tests and questions in the form of essay tests. The results showed that overall the students' mathematical problem solving abilities were in the high category, totaling 8 people with a percentage of 10% with a criterion score of less than 79.43. The ability to solve mathematical problems in the moderate category is 42 students with a percentage of 52.5% and an initial score of 36.56 to less than 79.43. On the other hand, there are 30 students in the low category with math problem solving abilities which have a percentage of 37.5%, and an initial score of less than 36.5.

Thinking Mathematical creativity is a thinking skill whose goal is to solve a problem with several ideas, generate various ideas, be able to create new habits and have nothing in common with others and be able to develop ideas. Indicators of students' mathematical creative thinking abilities include 4 aspects, namely fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to think creatively in class VII junior high school students in solving flat shape problems. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The test used in this test is a creative thinking test which presents questions to students in class in the form of a written test in grade VIII of a SMPN 1 Parongpong school. The results of the research show that the students' creative reasoning in a system of linear equations is still weak, because the students' answers are correct. gets the maximum score, fluency index is 45%, flexibility is 45%, originality is 29%, and the lowest percentage is elaboration which is 3%. This is an indicator of unfulfilled student progress.

The purpose of this research is to determine the mathematical literacy skills of high school students in Bogor City based on their Adversity Quotient (AQ) categories. The sample was selected using Purposive Sampling technique, consisting of 412 eleventh-grade students from public high schools in Bogor City. The research method employed was descriptive quantitative to depict the mathematical literacy abilities according to students' AQ categories. Data collection was conducted through the distribution of an AQ questionnaire and four sets of mathematical literacy tests related to the topics of sequences and series. The data analysis technique used in this study was the Rasch Model with Winstep version 3.73. The results of the item-person map divided the 11th-grade students from public high schools in Bogor City into five categories of mathematical literacy abilities, and within each category, their corresponding AQ categories were also examined. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the eleventh-grade students from public high schools in Bogor City are predominantly characterized by low mathematical literacy ability, with the AQ category of transitional quitter-camper.

The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the characteristics of students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in grade VIII. Descriptive qualitative research was used in this study. With regard to the subject of eighth grade students, MTs. Az-Zahra Parongpong has a total of 33 students, with 18 female students and 15 male students. The technique in collecting data is with 3 questions in the form of descriptions, each of which represents an indicator of mathematical concept understanding ability. The data processing technique is to analyze the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of the system of linear equations of two variables in terms of gender on each indicator. Based on the results of the analysis, the average score of male students is 40.3% and female students is 53.5% on the material of the system of linear equations of two variables. So with that difference, it can be said that the mathematical communication skills of female students are higher than male students.

The research aims to examining the effect of Open Ended Learning based on Ethnomathematics approach on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of learning motivation. The research is a part of quantitative research with Quasi Experimental Design. The population is consisting of all 8th grade students of Muhammadiyah 7 Junior High School of Surakarta in the 2022/2023 school year. Two sample classes were taken by Cluster Random Sampling technique. the experimental class which treated with Open Ended Learning based on Ethnomathematic approach and the control class with Open Ended Learning approach. Data collection techniques is using by test, questionnaire, and documentation that analyzed using two-way ANOVA with different cells after proven normality and homogeneity. The result of the research is showing abaout: (1) there are effects of Open Ended Learning approach and Open Ended Learning based on Ethnomathematics approach on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities, (2) there are effects of learning motivation on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities, (3) there’s no interaction between learning approach and learning motivation on student’s mathematical problem solving abilities.

The development that produces LKPD product with the help of web live worksheets is the goal of this research. This type of research is research and development or RnD with the development model used according to Brog and Gall. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools located in Bandung Regency with LKPD assisted by live worksheets as the object of research and using a realistic mathematics education approach. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII-A, totaling 10 and 30 students of class VII-C of SMP Al-Tamimi. Data collection in this study is a research instrument in the form of LKPD validation sheets from two Mathematics Education lecturers and one mathematics teacher as well as student response questionnaires obtained in limited trials and broad trials. The data analysis technique in this study is an analysis of data validation and practicality using Microsoft Excel. The results of the data collected show that the average value of the validation results of LKPD assisted by live worksheets is 85.8% with a very valid category, while the student responses obtained from questionnaire data show a result of 81.4% which is in the very practical category.

Era Society 5.0 which has a significant impact on various aspects, including education. Era Society 5.0 must have faced by producing competent and globally competitive human resources. Mathematics teachers candidate need to be provided with literacy skills so that it makes them easier to understand and process the information obtained to solve problems as well as numeracy skills to develop knowledge and skills to use mathematics confidently in all aspects of life. To answer these challenges, it is necessary to implement learning media, namely IMATIC (Interactive Mathematic Comic) based on VBA-Excel which is interesting, simple, educative and easy to understand. The research method uses descriptive research with test instruments, questionnaires and interviews. The results of the study show that the implementation of IMATIC can make mathematics teachers candidate have good literacy and numeracy skills. In addition, it is effectively used in learning because they understand the material by being carried away in the story so that it is easy to understand.

The simple iteration material in the numerical methods course is material related to functions and derivatives. Apart from this, simple iteration material requires one or two initial guesses that do not require bracketing the roots. This method will produce a root approximation as a solution, which will show convergent or divergent results. The convergence criteria are influenced by the derived results and the initial guesses provided. Because of this, this research aims to analyze the results of student answers to prove the convergence criteria of a given simple iterative problem. The method used in this research is a case study, analyzing the results of the answers of five randomly selected students studying numerical methods courses. Based on the results of the analysis of the convergence criteria based on initial guesses, it was concluded that only 5 students could prove the convergence criteria correctly. In general, students made mistakes in deriving algebraic functions, carried out division operations, and incorrectly determined the convergence criteria because they only proved the possibility of the function. given so that students only focus on convergence criteria without carrying out iterative analysis.
