Abstract

Reading comprehension is still considered as a part of new literacy required to encounter the Industry 4.0. Reading comprehension in this era is related to reading the data presented in technology. In addition to students ability to understand readings, students sort positive and negative information in a reading through reading comprehension. Students can also get used to utilize the internet access to read various information and stories. Therefore, the presence of the Industry 4.0 is considered to not have negative effects on students. This research focuses on examining the online magazine-based reading workshop model towards the improvement of fourth grade students reading comprehension skills. The research employed quasi experiment methods with a nonequivalent group design. The research sample was selected purposively from fourth grade students in primary schools in Cimahi City. The data were collected using the test of reading comprehension skills and were analyzed using inferential statistics with the assistance of the SPSS 21.0 program. Through this research, the researchers are expected that the online magazine-based reading workshop model has an effect on the improvement of the fourth-grade students reading comprehension skills.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze (1)scenarios and implementation constructivism approach, (2) the response of teachers and students, (3) The difficulties experienced by students in complete a task. The subject of this research are 15 students of fourth (IV) grade of SDN Palintang Jaya. 5 Students high level, 5 Students middle, 5 students low level. This research is a qualitative methods. The scenario and point to finding froms the students can more active teacher lesson learned by means of concrete using media and social interaction between teachers or friends. A good response from teachers and students. The difficulties experienced by students in complete a task, because the students are still unable to use mathematics concept. Based on the result of this research shows that reach mathematical understanding ability, after following construtivism approach.

Abstract

The research aims to develop students' reading comprehension skills through the use of online magazines. The choice of online magazines as a source of student reading is because now students prefer to use electronic devices such as cellphones or laptops. The use of online magazines in primary school students can be an effort to instill digital literacy. This study uses a pre-experimental method with Post-test only with Nonequivalent Groups. The study population was grade IV students in the city of Cimahi while the selected sample of 28 students used the convenience technique. Meanwhile, the data collection technique uses a reading comprehension skills test and a digital literacy level questionnaire. Researchers conducted data analysis with inference statistics through the SPSS 20.0 program. The results indicated that the reading skills of group A students' understanding were better than those of group B. The researchers concluded that the online magazine had an effect on reading comprehension skills of grade IV students.

Abstract

Fraction division is one of the most difficult subjects in elementary school. Not only elementary students but many prospective teachers don’t understand the fraction division concept yet—most of them using a keep-change-flip algorithm to solve fraction division problems. A study using rectangle representation was conducted by us to prospective teachers. This study aims to see whether this rectangle representation will make prospective teachers understand or not. To do so, we made a mixed-method study with 80 prospective teachers as participants. The results show that 53,75% of prospective teachers use the keep-change-flip algorithm without understanding the concept of fraction division, and just 15% of prospective teachers understand fraction division. We assume that most prospective teachers still can’t imagine how fraction division works in a real-life context. They remember what they used to do to finish the fraction division problem that their teacher has introduced in primary school. Based on the results, we conclude that the study with rectangle representation still needs an improvement, whether the teacher’s explanation or the rectangle media.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes after using a scientific approach to online learning. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi with the subjects of class IX students totaling 35 people. Collecting data in the form of student test results with a discussion of quadratic equations. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle was carried out in 2 meetings. In the first cycle, the learning was less than optimal in applying the scientific approach and the students' motivation to learn mathematics was less. In the second cycle, the deficiencies that occurred in the first cycle were corrected. In cycle II, many students were able to solve the questions given, actively asked if there was something they did not understand and many students were able to participate in online learning using a scientific approach. The results of this study indicate that the scientific approach to online learning can be applied and an increase in each cycle has a good impact on grade IX students at SMP Negeri 8 Cimahi.

Abstract

Games already become the fun thing that everybody should try. Therefore, learning with some elements of games can be applied to engage student. Even more in mathematics learning which tend difficult to undertand if they don’t like mathematics. The aim of this study are to see prospective teachers’ responses about games and gamification according to their view. This study use descriptive qualitative study and literature review to get the answer. In order to do so, we provide questionnaire in the form of google form for 183 prospective teachers. We analyzed that questionnaire descriptively. The results is more than 60% prospective teachers like game, and more than 90% prospective teachers interested in following mathematics learning with gamification model. Based on results, we conclude that someone who like game is because they can have fun, to get rid of bored, to improve their thinking ability, social interaction, solve the challenges, get a new knowledge, competition, and realize what they can’t realize in real life. Whereas someon who don’t like game is because they will wasting their time, quickly saturated because the repetitive mission or challenges, don’t like challenges, afraid of addiction and not interested with some games.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSecara umum, tujuan jangka panjang program pengabdian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu proses pengabdian yang inovatif melalui penyuluhan bagi guru-guru Sekolah Dasar dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman model-model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan anak agar pembelajaran menjadi lebih bersemangat dan bermakna. Secara khusus, target khusus yang ingin dicapai sebagai berikut: (1). Meningkatkan pemahaman guru-guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran sesuai kebutuhan perkembangan anak; (2). Meningkatkan kesadaran pentingnya memilih model pembelajaran yang dapat menghantarkan anak ke arah perkembangan yang optimal. Metode pelaksanaan dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut sebagai berikut: (a). perizinan terhadap Dinas setempat terkait pengabdian terhadap guru-guru sekolah dasar; (b). Memberikan gambaran umum mengenai kegiatan pengabdian yang akan dilakukan; (c). Melakukan refleksi dan diskusi mengenai berbagai kegiatan pengabdian yang akan dilakukan; (d). Melakukan kolaborasi dengan ahli dalam menyusun materi model-model pembelajaran yang sesuai tahapan perkembangan anak sekolah dasar, (e). Pelaksanaan kegiatan penyuluhan ; (f). Evaluasi kegiatan penyuluhan, (f) Penarikan kesimpulan pelaksanaan penyuluhan, dan (g) Publikasi luaran pengabdian.Kata Kunci : penyuluhan, model-model pembelajaran, perkembangan anak ABSTRACTIn general, the long-term goal of this service program is to develop an innovative process of devotion through counseling for elementary school teachers in an effort to improve the understanding of learning models that correspond to the Children's development to become more enthusiastic and meaningful. Specifically, the specific target is to be achieved as follows: (1). Increase understanding of teachers in designing learning according to children's developmental needs; (2). Increase awareness of the importance of choosing a learning model that can deliver the child toward optimal development. The implementation method in achieving the objectives is as follows: (a). Licensing of local agencies regarding the devotion to primary school teachers; (b). Provide an overview of the activities of devotion to be conducted; (c). To reflect and discuss the various activities of devotion to be conducted; (d). Collaborate with experts in drafting materials of learning models that fit the stages of development of elementary school children, (e). Implementation of counseling activities; (f). Abstract

Kesiapan dan pemahaman terhadap Kurikulum 2013 harus dimiliki oleh semua guru. Berdasarkan observasi awal yang dilakukan di gugus SD di Kelurahan Cimahi Kecamatan Cimahi Utara Kota Cimahi, kami dapati bahwa sebagian besar guru di gugus tersebut kurang memiliki kesiapan yang mumpuni dalam mengaplikasikan kurikulum terbaru selama pembelajaran. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kesiapan dan pemahaman para guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran yang terbarukan, serta media pembelajaran yang digunakan kurang memiliki kebermanfaatan dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan adalah Project Based Learning. Walaupun media berbasis teknologi sedang popular, kehadiran media pembelajaran konvensional tidak dapat dinafikan kegunaannya. Media pembelajaran dapat dibuat menggunakan bahan-bahan yang ada disekitar kita. Diantara dengan menggunakan media barang bekas. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pendampingan bagi para guru SD dalam penerapan dan pembuatan bahan ajar Matematika dan Bahasa Inggris berbasis Project Based Learning menggunakan media barang bekas. Metode yang dipilih dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini ini adalah pelatihan/pendampingan, diskusi, dan tanya jawab (Transfer Ilmu Pengetahuan). Berdasarkan hasil interview, dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui kegiatan ini, kemampuan profesionalisme para guru mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan. Kata Kunci : Project Based Learning, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Barang Bekas

Abstract

Pemerintah mengeluarkan kebijakan untuk mengganti Ujian Nasional dengan Asesmen Nasional yang didalamnya memuat asesmen Kompetensi minimum (AKM). Jenis soal AKM masih belum familiar di kalangan guru oleh karena itu tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam Menyusun soal AKM. Metode dalam pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan dan workshop penyusunan soal AKM yang dilaksankan 3 sesi. Instrumen yang menjadi acuan kegiatan ini adalah angket dengan 14 pernyataan untuk mengukur pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam Menyusun soal AKM, subjek dalam pengabdian ini sebanyak 100 guru di kabupaten Pangandaran yang terdiri dari guru sekolah dasar dan menengah Adapun lokasi pengabdian yaitu di SDN 2 Pananjung Kab. Pangandaran. Hasil penngabdian ini yaitu pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam Menyusun soal berbasis AKM meningkat sebesar 34,72% dan masuk dalam kategori baik. Kemudian respon guru positif terhadap kegiatan pelatihan ini. Hasil pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat di implementasikan dalam pembelajaran guru di kelas dengan memberikan soal-soal berbasis AKM kepada siswa agar siswa lebih siap dalam menghadapi Asesmen Nasional.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan yaitu,(1). Skenario dan implementasi pembelajaran online yang telah dilaksanakan guru di Kelas III SD pada materi penjumlahan pecahan, (2).Respon guru dan siswa terhadap pembelajaran online,(3).Kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi guru dan siswa dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran online. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Deskriptif kualitatif, yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran implementasi pembelajaran online yang telah dilaksanakan guru secara objektif pada kemampuan siswa, cara belajar siswa, minat belajar siswa, dan sebagainya.Instrumen Penelitian ini yaitu Tes tertulis, angket, interview (wawancara), dokumentasi.Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SD Kelas III di Cikalongwetan yaitu SDN 1 Ekacita dan SDN 2 Ekacita yang berjumlah 12 siswa terdiri dari 4 orang siswa kemampuan tinggi, 4 orang kemampuan sedang, 4 orang kemampuan rendah.Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini siswa mengalami peningkatan dalam pembelajaran online materi penjumlahan pecahan menggunakan model contextual teaching and learning .
