Abstract

This study aims to produce a vlog of learning mathematics in the context of nisab zakat fitrah with a valid category and has a potential effect on students' interest in learning. This research is a design research type of development study with development procedures consisting of a preliminary stage and a prototyping stage with the Tessmer flow, namely formative evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group, and field test). The design of the learning vlog uses the context of nisab zakat fitrah. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and interviews. The research subjects were students of class VIIA of SMP Negeri 2 Plakat Tinggi. The results showed that the learning vlog developed in the valid category and the learning vlog had a potential effect on students' interest in learning based on the results of the N-Gain test of the pretest-posttest questionnaire which got a score of 0.41 and was included in the medium category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the problem-solving abilities of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in number pattern material. This research was conducted in one of the public schools located in Karawang Regency. There are 4 indicators of problem solving, namely, the adequacy of known and requested information data, problem solving strategies, completion of mathematical models and arguments, and re-examination of the solutions obtained. This research was conducted with a subject of 17 class VIII students with a qualitative descriptive method. The technique used in data collection was using the descriptive test method, while the technique used to analyze the data was using the average percentage. Meanwhile, the percentage of indicators (1) the stage of identifying data is 27.06%; (2) the problem solving strategy stage, amounting to 21.17%; (3) skill stage in solving mathematical models 9.41%; (4) the concluding stage of 8.23%. The results of the data analysis show that most of the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students are still low.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the ability to think creatively mathematically on solving problems of a two-variable linear equation system at SMK PGRI Pontianak. The method used in this study is a qualitative description. Sources of data in this study were students of class X SMK PGRI Pontianak. The instrument used to conduct the research is a mathematical creative thinking ability test for solving SPLDV problems, namely the fluency indicator is included in the low category with a score of 38% of 13 participants, the flexibility indicator is in the medium category with a number of 69% of 13 participants, and the original indicator is in the low category with a rate of 46% from 13 participants. Thus, it is concluded that the creative thinking ability of class X is at level 0 or not creative thinking.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical representation ability of educated people in the linear buying system using Palembang culinary context questions. This research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were students of class XI IPA SMA, totaling 3 people. The data collection techniques used were written tests and interviews. The questions on the written test are of the type of description questions, which consist of 2 questions using the culinary context of Palembang, where the first question uses the context of lamington cake and the second question uses the context of pempek. Data analysis is done by collecting data, reducing it, presenting it, and drawing conclusions from it. The results of the research were that there were two subjects who were able to change the given problem into the form of a mathematical model so that their mathematical representation skills emerged successfully, and one subject was unable to generate mathematical representation abilities because they had not been able to change the given problem into a mathematical model form.

Abstract

Analysis of students' difficulties aims to assist teachers in analyzing difficulties in solving material relationships and functions. The research method used is phenomenologically qualitative in junior high school in one of the schools in Karawang district in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Sampling was 41 students of class VIIIB. In this study, this collection technique took data with test results based on the number of questions as many as 3 questions and what was used was tests and interviews, based on the results of analysis and discussion and observation. The validity of the data used in this study is a type of source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that students who experience difficulties in solving material relations and function questions are: (1) junior high school students who have difficulty using concepts because students cannot translate the form of the questions, so they cannot use the appropriate formula. (2) ) junior high school students have difficulty using principles because students cannot process calculations, so students do not complete calculations correctly, (3) junior high school students have difficulty solving verbal problems because students cannot use concepts and principles to work on problems on questions.

Abstract

This research aims to describe student’s errors in solving math story problems with Newman’s Theory (Newman Error Analysis). This research is a qualitative descriptive reasearch. Subject of this research students of class X science 5. Data collection techniques are carried out by written tests and unstructured interviews. Data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the results of the study, 1 student made a reading error, 1 student made a comprehension error, 6 students made a transformation error (mistake in changing the problem), 11 students made a process skill error, and 24 students made a encoding error (final answer writing error.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the learning independence possessed by students of class X TBSM SMK Al Fathimiyah. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method using 29 students from class X TBSM SMK Al Fathimiyah as research subjects. The instrument used in this study was a non-test instrument in the form of a student learning independence questionnaire consisting of 30 statements. The data collection technique in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires. Data analysis techniques by making the percentage of student answers are then described using the criteria for the percentage of student answers. The results showed that the average percentage of students' answers on the attitude scale questionnaire for students' mathematics learning independence was 71.55%. This indicates that most students of class X TBSM Al Fathimiyah have an independent attitude in learning. However, students still have to improve their learning independence so that each indicator in learning independence can be improved even better.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine students error in solving the story problems of the Set which were analyzed based on Newman’s procedure. This type of research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The subject of this study were students of class VII.A in one of the Junior High School in Karawang Regency which consisted of 32 students. Data’s collection was using a test consisting of 2 question about the Set material and unsctructured interviews. Data analysis technique of this research consists of three steps there are data reduction, presentation of data, and conclusions. Based on research of this results showed that there were five types of errors made by students, there were reading error, comprehension error, transformation error, process skill error, and encoding error. The error that often made by students in the first question were encoding error. While in the second question were transformation error.

Abstract

Critical thinking can be formed in several ways, one of which is through the process of learning mathematics. This study aims to determine trends and research focus related to critical thinking in mathematics learning. A total of 327 data were obtained from database dimensions. VOSviewer software is used to display visualizations based on bibliographic pairs and events with keywords by the author. Researchers use qualitative research methods. The analysis technique used is descriptive bibliometric analysis and bibliometric visualization method. The results of the study show that the countries of Indonesia and the United States, the Indonesian University of Education and Padang State University, the "journal of physics conference series" and documents (Mutakinati et al., 2018) have been the most influential on critical thinking in learning mathematics in the last five years . The research focus is divided into four of them, namely: 1) STEM approach; 2) Learning with Problem-based learning; 3) Critical thinking in higher education; 4) learning outcomes and creative thinking. STEM is not directly related to geometry material, and problem-based learning is also not directly connected to independent learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the influence of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) with the TPaCK framework on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of high school students, specifically focusing on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations with Three Variables (SPLTV). The study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach at a public high school in Kabupaten Serang with Class X IPA 6 as the selected research sample. The participants were chosen through purposive sampling during the first semester of the academic year 2022–2023. Data collection in this study involved pre-tests and post-tests. The data obtained from the initial and final tests was then processed through three stages, namely descriptive data analysis, data  prerequisite test, and hypothesis test The findings of this research demonstrate that PBL with the TPaCK framework can enhance the mathematical problem-solving abilities of high school students.
