Abstract

Compliance of fluid limits is one of the factors that can improve the quality of life in hemodialysis patients. Success in adhering to fluid limits depends on support from the family. Patient non-compliance in restricting fluids can cause major and very serious consequences. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of family support and compliance with fluid limits on the quality of life in hemodialysis patients. The method used is quantitative research with a multivariate design using linear regression test analysis with the backward LR method. The sample in this study was 95 respondents using purposive sampling. The measuring instruments used are KDQOL SF-36, IDWG, and support from the Friedman family. The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between compliance with fluid limits and quality of life (p = 0.000) and family support with quality of life (p = 0.000), but the results of the linear regression test showed that compliance with fluid limits was the strongest factor influencing quality of life by 30.3 times compared to family support and the rest is influenced by other factors. The conclusion is that there is a significant influence between compliance with fluid limits and family support on the quality of life of hemodialysis patients

Abstract

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic means that people, especially teenagers, still have to implement health protocols. However, face-to-face learning has begun to be implemented in various schools with the obligation to wear masks, wash hands, maintain a distance of 1 meter, limit mobilization and carry out Covid-19 vaccinations. The government's Covid-19 Vaccine Program for the entire Indonesian population has generated various responses in society. The Covid-19 vaccine is currently available for teenagers who take part in face-to-face learning. However, in practice, there are still many teenagers who experience anxiety so they do not comply with the Covid-19 vaccination. This research aims to determine the influence of cultural factors and anxiety on junior high school students' compliance with the Covid-19 vaccination in Degen Village, Teluk Patipi District. The research method that will be used is an analytical survey using a cross sectional research design. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling with a population of 128 and the respondents for this research were 97 students of SMP Negri 2 Degen. Bivariate analysis used the Chi-square test using SPSS with a significance level of α=0.05 (5%) with a nominal data scale. The research results show that there is an influence of cultural factors and anxiety on junior high school students' compliance with the Covid-19 vaccination using SPSS 26.0 descriptive test with a 2 tailed sigh result of p=0.00 with a=0.05 which means the hypothesis is accepted. Cultural factors and anxiety have a significant influence on participation in vaccination. Cultural factors, including the beliefs and customs of indigenous Papuans (OAP), which are still strong and inaccurate information regarding vaccines, make teenagers anxious and ultimately have a negative response and will have a psychosomatic impact so that they cannot receive the vaccine. Proper education and effective communication from the government and trusted sources are critical in addressing this issue.

Abstract

Breastmilk is the best natural food for babies, but the phenomenon that occurs in society today is that exclusive breastfeeding is still low. Low levels of exclusive breastfeeding can be detrimental to babies, mothers, families and the nation, including the risk of bad health. Efforts are needed from mothers of toddlers and support from outside to achieve the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The aim of this research is to explore in depth the causes of failure to provide exclusive breastfeeding at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection obtained through in-depth interviews. The main study was 6 mothers who failed to breastfeed exclusively. Supporting informants consisted of 6 husbands/families, 1 head of the Community Health Center, 1 health worker, 1 KIA officer and 2 posyandu cadres at the Sidomulyo Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. The instrument used was an open question questionnaire. This research identifies the reasons why mothers do not give exclusive breast milk, namely breast milk that is not flowing smoothly, so the mother takes her own initiative to give formula milk to her baby. Even though support from husband/family and health workers has been provided, the failure of exclusive breastfeeding is still not resolved. So, from the results of this research, it is hoped that mothers can face all obstacles while providing exclusive breastfeeding, accompanied by support from their husband/family and health workers in providing advice, direction, opinions or explaining the appropriate actions to be taken by the mother.

Abstract

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin or when the body can’t longer use insulin effectively. Dietary compliance in patients with diabetes mellitus has very important functions including maintaining body weight, lowering blood pressure and blood sugar. Adherence to a person's DM diet is largely determined by individual motivation and family support. Lack of family support means DM sufferers usually cannot control their diet, which results in high blood sugar. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between motivation and family support on dietary compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Pasar Rebo Health Center. This study used a descriptive analysis research design with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in March-May 2023. The sample in this study is 85 people and the data analysis used the chi square test. The results of the analysis showed that the test of the relationship between motivation and dietary compliance obtained a value of p = 0.261 (p>0.05) while the test of the relationship of family support and dietary compliance obtained a value of p = 0.044 (p <0.05). Based on the results, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between motivation and dietary compliance but there is a significant relationship between family support and dietary compliance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Pasar Rebo Health Center.
