Abstract

Nutrition for pregnant women is very influential on the fetus. Poor maternal nutritional status before conception and during pregnancy will lead to low birth weight infants (LBW), fetal brain growth retardation, anemia on fetus, susceptible to infectious diseases and abortion. The aim is to determine determinant predictor of infant birth weight in Puskesmas Lingkar Timur Area Bengkulu City 2011. This study used cross sectional by analytic approach. The sample were 88 people. Data obtained in Puskesmas Lingkar Timur Area Bengkulu City from January to February 2011. Data research used secondary data which consisted of weight gain of pregnant women TM2, TM3, MUAC, Hb, iron (Fe), infant birth weight that obtained from the register book KIA BPS in Puskesmas Lingkar Timur Area Bengkulu City. Significant value of MUAC 0.0005 (p <0.05) and significant value of Hb 0.0005 (p <0.05). This study shows that MUAC and Hb are determinant predictor of weight infants. Therefore it is necessary for the promotion of research results that can be followed by monitoring nutrient intake and nutritional status in pregnant women.

Abstract

CVD has close relationship with nutrition and food. But the results of another study did not support the close relationship between saturated fat intake with blood lipid levels and risk of CVD. The aim is to determine the effect of various types of fried oil consumption to the thickness of tunica intima in male rats of wistar strain. This study was an experimental research. The sample were 25 rats based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Treatment groups were separated and each given long chain saturated fatty acid (LCSFA) cow fat, medium chain saturated fatty acid (MCSFA) VCO, polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) corn oil and monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) olive oil orally 2.5 ml/day for 2 months. Data were obtained include the sample characteristics and thickness of tunica intima. The highest mean of tunica intima thickness was corn oil 16385,61±1715,79 nm and the lowest olive oil 12075,97±2464,34 nm (p=0,033). This study shows that the harmful effects of SFA and the protective effects of UFA to the thickness of tunica intima need to be corrected because not all SFA is bad and UFA is good for health. It is therefore recommended to inform about foods are beneficial for health.

Abstract

The low consumption of vegetables and fruits in the community requires an Eat Vegetables and Fruit Campaign as an effort to reach the Nutrition Conscious Family, especially in school-age children and adolescents as the nation's successors. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of drawing story media to knowledge, attitude, and behavior of kindergarten. The study used a quasi-experiment study, with a non-randomized control group pre-test - post-test design. Research location in Puskesmas Padang Serai Bengkulu City. The population is kindergarten students. Sampling using the non-probability method with purposive sampling technique totaling 60 samples. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate dependent t-test/Wilcoxon test, independent t-test/Mann Whitney and covariance analysis test. The results showed that there were differences in knowledge, attitudes, and behavior in the treatment and control groups, furthermore the drawing story media was effective to knowledge, attitude, and behavior of kindergarten students. Educate by using drawing story media continuously as an effort to increase the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of kindergarten students. Elaborate drawing story media with more interesting storylines and colorful images.

Abstract

Ketidakpahaman diabetesi mengenai penyakit Diabetes Mellitus merupakan suatu kendala pengobatannya. Diabetesi harus memperhatikan pola makanan, bisa mengotrol makanan yang dikonsumsi sehari-hari dianjurkan untuk melakukan diet sesuai kebutuhan, makanan yang rendah karbohidrat dan lemak, namun tinggi protein, vitamin dan mineral. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah merancang dan membangun suatu aplikasi yang memberikan kemudahan kepada pengguna (ahli gizi) dalam mengatur menu makanan diet penyandang diabetes mellitus guna memperoleh status gizi seimbang menggunakan metode Naïve Bayes, Simple Additive Weighting. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Sistem ini dapat digunakan oleh ahli gizi untuk membantu menentukan menu diet harian yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi pasien, dengan nilai akurasi best alternative sebesar 85%. Metode Naive Bayes dan Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) yang diimplementasikan pada sistem ini memberikan hasil yang optimal. Berdasarkan 40 sampel data penderita penyakit diabetes mellitus yang diuji cobakan dengan Sistem Pendukung keputusan penentuan menu diet, hasil kebutuhan gizi menggunakan metode perhitungan gizi pada sistem 100% sama dengan hasil secara perhitungan manual.Kata Kunci: Diet, Diabetesi, Diabetes Mellitus, Naïve Bayes, Simple Additive Weighting.

Abstract

Deficiency of micronutrition is one of the factors which influence the deficiency of chronic nutrition. Deficiency of vitamin D can lower the absorption of calcium and phosphor. Deficiency of zinc can stunt children because zinc has the main role on growth acceleration period both before and after their birth. One of the impacts of chronic nutrition deficiency is the descending of growth acceleration or linear disturbance so the children fail on gaining height potency which causes the children to become stunt. This research is purposed to know the relation of consuming vitamin D and zinc with the stunting of the students of SD Negeri 77 Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu. This research is kind of analytical observation research with a cross-sectional approach which is done from January to April in SD Negeri 77 Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu. There are 80 subjects in this research. The variable which is observed about consuming vitamin D, consuming zinc and stunting the analysis used a chi-square test. In this research, the data is collected by using an interview with semi FFQ form (Food Frequency Questionnaire). The result of this research shows that there is a relation between consuming zinc and stunting to the students of SD Negeri 77 Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu, however, there is no relation between consuming vitamin D and stunting to the students of SD Negeri 77 Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

Hypertension is often called a silent killer because it triggers other deadly diseases and increases the risk of heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and renal failure. Risk factors of hypertension are genes, gender, age, race, obesity, sodium consumption, smoking, alcohol, less physical activity, stress, and caffeine consumption. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of age, sodium consumption, body mass index (BMI), the ratio of hip waist circumference (RLPP) with the incidence of hypertension in adult groups of fishermen in the work area fish Market Puskesmas Kota Bengkulu Year 2019. The study used a descriptive-analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The technique used is purposive sampling, with a sample number of 45 people aged (26-45 years). Statistical analysis is a chi-square test and logistics regression test. The results indicate the absence of age relations and RLPP with the incidence of hypertension (P-value > 0.05), there are IMT relations and sodium consumption with the prevalence of hypertension (p-value ≤ 0.05) and the most influential factor in the incidence hypertension, sodium ingestion (p-value 0.0005; OR 206, 28). Researchers advise people to reduce the consumption of high sodium foods.

Abstract

The Rejang tribe is partly living on the lowland and coastal coastline, the typical Rejang cooking tradition has been assimilated into the Minang and Malay cooking traditions. Malay people like to consume foods that are fatty, dining, oily and salty. Fish, beef, shrimp and nuts have purine content of 9-100 mg of purin/100 g of foodstuffs. One of the factors affecting hyperuricemia is the habit of consuming purine eating, it will result in gout disease. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that influence the incidence of hyperuricemia on the Rejang tribe in Bengkulu. Design research is cross sectional. Rejang Group's research samples numbered 64 respondents. Data collected is the result of uric acid examination, gender, age, knowledge, consumption pattern, liquid consumption, BMI. The instruments used are questionnaires, eating consumption patterns using FFQ form, weight gained by weighing with digital scales. Data analysis using Chi-Square and multivariate tests using logistic regression test

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit yang timbul karena adanya peningkatan kadar glukosa darah di atas nilai normal. DM dapat menyebabkan pasien mengalami hiperglikemia. Pada kondisi tersebut pentingnya dukungan asupan yang baik secara enteral maupun parenteral. Salah satunya, yaitu makanan cair yang diharapkan dapat memenuhi asupan pasien. Makanan cair dengan penambahan tepung labu kuning, karena adanya sifat hipoglikemik dan antidiabetes pada labu kuning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui analisis mutu protein dan kandungan zat gizi makanan cair dengan penambahan tepung labu kuning. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 4 formulasi yaitu F0, F1, F2 dan F3 dengan masing – masing penambahan tepung labu kuning yaitu 0%, 5%, 10% dan 15%. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen. Perhitungan mutu protein menggunakan perhitungan manual yaitu Skor asam amino (SAA), Mutu cerna, Net Protein Utilization (NPU) dan Protein Efficiency Rasio (PERasio). Perhitungan zat gizi menggunakan Daftar Komposisi Bahan Makanan (DKBM).Penelitian menunjukkan pada mutu protein nilai tertinggi untuk SAA yaitu F2, mutu cerna yaitu F1, NPU, dan PE-Rasio yaitu F3. Energi yang tertinggi pada formula F1, protein yang tertinggi F0, lemak yang tertinggi F0 dan F1, karbohidrat tertinggi pada formula F0.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Stunting yaitu kondisi tinggi badan (TB) seorang anak yang tak sesuai terhadap umurnya, dan pengukurannya dijalankan dengan memperhitungkan Z score indeks TB berdasarkan TB/U. Anak dinyatakan stunting apabila Z score indeks TB/U = < -2 SD. Kondisi stunting mengambarkan status gizi dimasa lampau tidak baik, juga menunjukkan terdapat masalah perkembangan linier kepada anak. Riset ini memiliki tujuan dalam mencari tahu Hubungan Riwayat Pemberian IMD Dan ASI Eksklusif Dengan Kejadian Stunting Anak Balita Umur 12-59 Bulan di Desa Napal Melintang Kecamatan Selangit Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Metode: Jenis pendekatan yang dipakai pada riset ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif yang menggunakan rancangan cross sectional, Sampelnya sebanyak 74 anak balita yang berumur 12-59 bulan. Analisis yang dipergunakan yaitu univariat dan bivariat terhadap pengujian chisquare. Hasil: Terdapat keterkaitan dalam memberikan IMD dan ASI eksklusif terhadap stunting anak balita di Desa Napal Melintang Kecamatan Selangit Kabupaten Musi Rawas dengan p -Value 0.003 dan 0.004. Kesimpulan: Tidak memberi IMD dan ASI eksklusif bisa menjadikan balita berpotensi menjadi stunting. Kata kunci : Stunting, IMD, ASI Eksklusif.

Abstract

Background: Nutrition is more commonly known as obesity is a condition where the calories consumed are more than the calories used causing excessive accumulation of fat in the body which can result in health problems. Objective: This study plans to find out information about excess nutrition in adolescents, especially junior high school students, regarding the relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight Methods: The population in this study were class 7 and 8 with a total sample of 62 people with a cross sectional study design. Data analysis used bivariate analysis using the Chi Square tes.t. Results: there are more unhealthy eating habits than good habits, while for very light physical activity there are more than light activities. Conclusion: There is a relationship between eating habits and physical activity with the incidence of overweight in junior high school adolescents. Poor eating habits and very little physical activity can potentially lead to over nutrition.
