Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of Sharia principles to student savings at Bank Syariah Indonesia KCP Simpang Limun and to explain the application of the contracts used in student savings. This research includes field research with a qualitative approach. In terms of its nature, the research is descriptive and analytical. Data was obtained using primary and secondary data by taking samples from staff employees of Bank Syariah, which were taken from interviews regarding student savings. The research results show that Islamic Sharia has implemented student savings at this bank. However, the bank still needs to carry out a less active and effective level of promotion, so student savings are still relatively low. Bank staff must strive for more active and effective marketing in increasing awareness about the benefits of student savings products to encourage more potential customers. Public interest statements As banks adopt these strategies to improve customer satisfaction, the public can expect increased competition in the banking sector. This competition may lead to better services, lower fees, and more innovative products, benefiting consumers. Abstract

This research analyzes the risk management strategies employed in the iB Syariah Tapak KPR financing to understand how the bank aims to minimize the risks associated with high non-performing financing. The study uses a descriptive qualitative research methodology to gather data through various techniques, including observation, interviews, and case studies for primary data. In contrast, secondary data is sourced from literature such as books and journals. The findings reveal that the rise in non-performing financing is attributed to several factors, including economic conditions, the capacity of debtors, force majeure events, and the character of customers. PT Bank Sumut KCP Syariah Karya has developed a comprehensive risk management strategy in response to these challenges. This strategy includes blocking installment funds for 12 months, offering buy-back guarantees, and providing customer insurance to mitigate risks. Public interest statements As banks adopt these strategies to improve customer satisfaction, the public can expect increased competition in the banking sector. This competition may lead to better services, lower fees, and more innovative products, benefiting consumers. Abstract

This research analyzes community economic empowerment from an Islamic economic perspective, focusing on the case study of Siundol rice field farmers in Padang Lawas. Utilizing a qualitative method with a case study approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the economic empowerment of the Siundol rice farming community in Padang Lawas is not yet optimal, primarily due to several factors: limited access to capital, low levels of education and skills, minimal access to information and technology, weak farmer institutions, and insufficient government involvement in empowering the community's economy. From an Islamic economic perspective, community economic empowerment should adhere to the principles of Islamic sharia, which include justice, balance, togetherness, and sustainability. Public interest statements Several steps are recommended to enhance the economic empowerment of the Siundol rice farming community: increasing access to capital through sharia-compliant financing, providing education and training for farmers, improving access to information and technology, strengthening farmer institutions, and enhancing the government's role in community economic empowerment Article Info: Received 6/10/2024 | Revised: 9/27/2024 | Accepted: 9/23/2024 | Online First 9/27/2024

Abstract

The study aimed to understand how social media, digitalization, and financial literacy influence Sharia stock investment decisions among Generation Z. As Gen Z becomes more predominant, it presents both opportunities and challenges for transforming the digital landscape, particularly in terms of financial literacy and the distribution of products and services in the Sharia stock market. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 selected respondents using purposive sampling. A quantitative method was employed, utilizing the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Smart PLS application for analysis. The findings revealed that social media and digitalization significantly and positively influenced Sharia stock investment decisions among Generation Z. However, the financial literacy did not show a significant impact. Public interest statements The positive impact of social media and digitalization on investment decisions indicates that financial institutions and Sharia-compliant stock market participants should leverage these platforms to connect with Generation Z. Abstract

The number of new investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange has steadily increased in the past five years. However, both literacy and inclusion levels remain very low. This raises concerns about herding behavior in the stock market, leading to market prices not accurately reflecting true value. The author employs the CSAD method, utilizing variables such as market return (Rmt), CSAD, and Rm,t2, followed by a regression analysis. The data processing is carried out using EViews software, version 13, to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the research outcomes. The findings indicate significant herding activity among stocks indexed in the Indonesian JII from 2019 to 2024. From an Islamic perspective, natural herding behavior can be seen as a normal reaction due to market psychology. However, when herding is driven by deliberate manipulation—such as acts of Najsy or Ghisysy, which arise from misleading information, price manipulation, or non-transparent activities like pump and dump or hype and dump—it constitutes a violation of ethical standards and fair market principles, rendering it illegal. Public interest statements The findings emphasize the necessity for clear ethical guidelines for investors and market participants. Creating a code of conduct that prioritizes ethical trading practices can help reduce the risks tied to herding behavior and foster a fairer market environment. Abstract

Economic development improves human resources, public welfare, and national equality. Investment sustains economic development. According to the Harrod-Domar hypothesis, investment increases productivity and economic development. This research seeks to confirm this. The researcher also adopts Umar Chapra's ideas. His views combine Islam with morals to build a healthy economy. Using quantitative methods, this study includes FDI, domestic investment, Islamic investment, population, and GDP as fundamental and related variables. The analysis found that FDI and DCI are the independent variables affecting Indonesia's economic progress. Building a company requires much cash, so Indonesia needs both to strengthen its economy. Islamic investment is still low, and Indonesia's large population has not been well controlled, causing unemployment, low education levels, many health problems, and other problems that hinder economic growth. Public interest statements This analysis found that FDI and DCI are the independent variables affecting Indonesia's economic progress. Building a firm requires a lot of cash, so Indonesia needs both to strengthen its economy. Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of e-commerce in improving the performance of culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while addressing the technical challenges of using digital platforms. This study also explores how business owners manage their capital using Islamic principles and assesses their understanding and application of Islamic values in daily operations. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation from culinary MSMEs in Setiamulya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi, Indonesia. Informants were chosen to promote participatory observation and facilitate open communication. The findings reveal that while e-commerce presents significant benefits, several technical challenges—such as high advertising costs, missed notifications, and delivery issues—hinder its effectiveness. Most business owners diligently avoid interest-based loans in line with Islamic teachings; however, their understanding of riba (usury) is often incomplete. Although there are efforts to adhere to Islamic principles, there remains considerable room for improvement in their application. Public interest statement A stronger understanding of Islamic finance principles is also necessary to promote business sustainability. This study builds on previous research by highlighting the sustainability of culinary MSMEs from an Islamic perspective.
