Abstract

Paluh Kemiri Village, located in the Lubuk Pakam region of Indonesia, primarily relies on agriculture for its livelihood. However, residents face challenges such as limited resources, low income, and insufficient government support. The Farmer Household Income Exchange Rate (NTPRP) is a key indicator of their welfare. Research methods included observation and interviews to assess the farming community's happiness using NTPRP parameters. The minimum NTPRP value was 0.56, indicating that household expenditures exceeded income, making it difficult for farmers to meet both agricultural and non-agricultural needs. The maximum NTPRP value was 5.43, showing that some farmers could meet their needs. On average, the NTPRP was 1.31, suggesting that most farmers manage to afford their expenses. Additionally, data from BPS NTP North Sumatra in May 2025 indicated that farmers are experiencing a surplus with a value of 139.53. Public Interest Statement: Analyzing the welfare of farmers in Paluh Kemiri Village, Lubuk Pakam, is essential for understanding their economic and social conditions. This study uses the Farmer Household Income Exchange Rate (NTPRP) to identify challenges such as low income and limited resources. The findings are intended to guide the government and stakeholders in creating effective policies to improve farmers' welfare and promote sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the practice of the profit-sharing system between boat owners and fishermen in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu Subdistrict, from the perspective of Islamic economics. Data were collected through direct observation in the field, in-depth interviews with ship owners and crew members, and documentation. The results show that this practice is in line with the mudharabah contract in Islamic economics, where the ship owner acts as shahibul maal and the fishermen as mudharib. Key values such as justice, willingness (ridha), and deliberation have been applied in the profit-sharing process. However, the absence of a written contract may lead to conflict or uncertainty regarding the rights and obligations of the parties, especially in emergencies or work accidents. Therefore, written records are highly recommended as a form of rights protection and transparency, by the principles of maqashid sharia, especially in the aspects of protecting property (hifzh al-mal) and soul (hifzh al-nafs). Public Interest Statement: This research examines the fish catch sharing system between boat owners and fishermen in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu Sub-district, highlighting its importance for coastal communities. Through the analysis of traditional, oral practices, it emphasizes the need for fairness, transparency, and the protection of fishermen's rights. The findings reveal the local economic dynamics and advocate for written documentation to prevent conflicts and enhance fishermen's welfare. Ultimately, this study aims to inform better fisheries policies and support just and sustainable Islamic economic principles. Note: Early View Version

Abstract

This study examines how the government maintains green sukuk credibility through POJK 18/2023, the SDGs Government Securities Framework, and the alignment of issuance and reporting with Sharia principles. A qualitative-descriptive approach was applied, using data from interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal that while sustainable finance regulations and frameworks exist, gaps remain in ensuring transparency and the use of objective indicators. There is also a lack of standardized Sharia guidelines concerning substantive compliance, resulting in a formalistic focus on akad. OJK and Sharia Supervisory Boards (DPS) should strengthen oversight during issuance and post-issuance, particularly in reviewing the prospectus and impact reports. This study emphasizes the need for stricter sanctions, transparency on the methods of project selection and impact reporting, and the integration of al-Ḍarar Yuzāl and Maṣlaḥah principles to ensure green sukuk are not only legal but also ethical and impactful. Public interest statements This study explores how government regulations and Sharia (Islamic law) principles are used to maintain the credibility of green sukuk. It also highlights concerns about greenwashing, where projects claim to be “green” without real impact. The findings call for stronger oversight, penalties, clear reporting standards, and ethical guidelines to ensure that public funds contribute to meaningful environmental and social impact. This research matters because it connects the concept of sharia with sustainability in ways that impact the development of sustainable financing in Indonesia.

Abstract

Digital transformation is pushing retail businesses to adapt their marketing strategies through social media. This study analyzes the integration of social media by SMB MMTC and identifies the opportunities and challenges faced. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation at the supermarket located in Medan City. The results show that Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook play a strategic role in expanding market reach, increasing engagement, and strengthening local branding. Challenges include limited human resources, algorithm changes, restricted promotional budgets, and a lack of data-driven evaluation. From an Islamic economic perspective, business practices align with Sharia principles, including transparency, honesty, and freedom from usury and uncertainty. This study concludes that social media functions as both a promotional tool and an interactive platform, with the success of transformation determined by internal readiness, content innovation, and support from a sustainable digital ecosystem. Public Interest Statement: This research is important for the public because it provides insights into how local retail businesses, such as SMB MMTC, can effectively utilize social media to expand their market, increase interaction with consumers, and implement marketing strategies that are in line with Islamic economic principles in the era of digital transformation.
