Abstract

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Many faithful celebrate the Eucharist: some experience the Eucharist's impact, but many do not feel the impact of the Eucharist on their daily lives. The Eucharist is the memory of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. He himself is present at the Eucharist. Therefore the Eucharist is a source of grace and blessing to the lives of the faithful: to bring the fruits of redemption and to be the source of life for the faithful; building–living–reviving the Church. The Eucharist is also a source of repentance and forgiveness as well as a source for developing faith, hope, and love. The Eucharist is the offering of Christ and His Church. Therefore, in the Eucharist the faithful offer their entire lives to be transformed into a source of life and blessing for them and the whole world. In the spirit of repentance, the faithful are also called to offer themselves in faith, hope and love. Celebrating the Eucharist and seriously believing its truths will illuminate the daily lives of the faithful and grow in love for the Eucharist, so that they grow in love for God and others in Christ.

Abstract

Being a disciple of Christ is a gift of a special Christian vocation. A true disciple of Christ is required to follow Jesus bravely denying himself, taking up his cross every day, and following Jesus. A disciple of Christ is a human being’s community, who is called to always be united with Jesus and love others. In his life, a disciple of Christ is required to imitate and follow in the footsteps of Christ toward the perfection of life like Jesus who reached the perfection of His life by dying on the cross. A disciple becomes perfect when he unites himself with Christ totally, follows Christ wherever he walks, follows each of his steps, and always constantly learns from him under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Abstract

Many research has been done on reflective learning. Various studies have shown that reflective learning has a positive impact on students in capturing learning material. Seeing the results of the study, researchers wanted to see how reflective learning can help prospective Catholic teacher teachers increasingly become teachers. Becoming a true teacher is a noble calling, even more so becoming a religious teacher. Because being a religious teacher is not enough to just convey material or transfer knowledge but it must also be accompanied by example in everyday attitudes and actions. Based on the situation above, the researcher formulated 2 problems. First, what is the reflective learning model given to prospective Catholic teachers? Second, how does reflective learning impact Catholic teacher candidates on teacher vocations? This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques were carried out using the FGD (Focus Group Discussion) method. Analysis of qualitative research is inductive. Based on the results of the study, it was found that reflective learning had a great impact on the vocational vocations of Prospective Catholic Religious Teachers. Thus, reflective learning models really need to be developed in the learning process for prospective religious teachers.

Abstract

The figure of Jesus as a teacher is clearly different from the average teacher. Jesus was recognized as a teacher not only by His disciples, but by many who heard His teachings. Jesus is called the Teacher because Jesus' teacher training is based on "teaching" activities. The uniqueness of his teaching was different from that of the Rabbis of his day. Jesus is truly a teacher who has the competence to teach from the side of His personality. In His teaching Jesus had clear goals and directions, to achieve His learning goals Jesus used strategies such as learning and was supported by the use of approaches that were easy for his students to understand. This paper aims to (1) show Jesus as a teacher, (2) the uniqueness of Jesus' teaching (3) the teaching techniques practiced by Jesus (4) and its relevance for Catholic religious teachers. The important point of the results of this study is that Catholic religion teachers must have Jesus-like character and skills to teach well according to Jesus' example. These teaching skills have a big influence on students' attention to learning. This research will use descriptive quantitative and qualitative approaches

Abstract

The Second Pastoral Consultation of the Diocese of Surabaya held on October 18th-20th 2019 declared the Pastoral Strategic Policy of the Diocese of Surabaya for 2020-2030, formulated in these words: “In the spirit of the Basic Direction, the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Surabaya matures lingkungan rooted parishes present in the middle of the society”. This article wants to know in what matters and how strong this Diocese of Surabaya’s Pastoral Strategic Policy is connected to the voices of the pastors of the universal Church, especially those echoed in the doctrine of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) and that of the subsequent period. It is hoped that such reflection brought a clearer vision and understanding regarding such an important policy, granted that it will lead the faithful people of the Catholic Church of the Diocese of Surabaya in their pilgrimage to God in this world for the next 10 years. By knowing its connectedness with the voices of the pastors of the universal Church, it is expected that the faithful people of the Diocese of Surabaya would be more aware of the voice of Jesus Christ, the Good Pastor, who himself leads his flock to the green pastures of love shared in faith and hope with peoples they enconter.

Abstract

Apolitical praxis has been grown widely. Being a qualified Catholic politician is a fundamental matter because it serves as a mediator between Church and state. A Catholic politician comprhensive understanding’son GS is one of parameters for a qualification to involve in social and political practices. The research was designed to answer some fundamental guestions as the following: How far the Catholics in Madiun understand about the document of GS on political praxis? This research conducted by using a qualitative method. The results of research showed that 100% respondents were knowing about GS, although some of them did not deeply knowing. Respondents then disclosed that the contents of GS was related to both divine and human vocation to participate and being responsible in social and political life for human well-being (62,5%). According to respondents, bonum commune was main goal of the Catholic Church’s involvement in social and political praxices (75%). The result all of research showed that the formation for social and political addres can be be started from the familly pastoral ministry, and to introduce such Christian social and political values for Catholic faithful started from the early ages.

Abstract

Indonesia's human development index is still low among ASEAN countries. This losing quality of human resources results in decisions taken often not in favor of the interests of the nation. The low quality of human resources has resulted in one of the national development agendas as stipulated in the National Medium Term Development Plan IV (RPJMN-IV) currently putting strong pressure on improving human resources. The independent campus policy is designed to reinforce the position of tertiary institutions as a center for superior Indonesian human resources, and at the same time challenge tertiary institutions to continue of building a sustainable education system which is directly related to economic, social, and environmental aspects, as well as 21st century life and work skills demanded.

Abstract

The development and advancement of information and communication technology has permeated all aspects of human life today. Technological progress led to an industrial revolution and at the same time influenced the human lifestyle that formed the characteristics and character of a very varied generation. The character of this generation causes the world of education to adjust in terms of learning, teaching, pedagogy, and in the management of education. The church and its educational institutions are inseparable from the influence of advances in the digital world in educating young children in facing the challenges of 21st century education. As a higher education institution, STKIP Widya Yuwana is challenged to transform his learning in preparing his candidates of catechist and Catholic religion teachers who are digital generation or internet generation whose fingers are attached to their devices at any time. Creatively and collaboratively, educational persons are encouraged to build an atmosphere of freedom of learning by conducting digital metanoia and transforming themselves to be able to continue their preaching work to young people.

Abstract

This article wants to explore that human being has spiritual dimension which is not contradict to his or her body. It points out that spiritual dimension of human being by using the expereince of St. Vincent de Paul and the same time showing that human expereince as a locus of God’s revealing self-disclousure. God’s revealing self-disclousure is very much interconnected with the notion of God as Divine Providende because through God’s self-disclousure, He brings meaning to the life of His people. This takes place in ordinary daily life. It is the spirit of human being enable them from time to time to related them selves to higher reality, God.The writer uses hermeneutic approach to analyze topic of discussion.

Abstract

Kampus Merdeka – Merdeka Belajar (freedom to learn) is a new learning program designed by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture as a response toward the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Through this way, the graduates are able to be inovative, creative, autonomous, and competitive. Beside hard working, the next religious teacher and chatecists also expected to be literate and fluent in English, since it was established as international, business, and technological language. This paper aims to analyze English learning autonomy in term of learning methods toward religious teacher and chatecists. The writer uses analytical approach to analyze topic of discussion. Some datas and references used to find out what will we do as a lecturer in English learning process toward religious teacher and cathecists through freedom to learn.
