Abstract

Access to credit remains one of the most persistent challenges for Indonesian MSMEs, particularly for enterprises that operate without formal collateral or structured financial records. Although MSMEs contribute significantly to national economic resilience, conventional credit assessment procedures often fail to capture the day-to-day realities of their operations. This gap creates a misalignment between the actual risk profile of MSMEs and the decisions made by lenders or guarantee institutions. As the financial sector shifts toward sustainability-oriented practices, the need for a more holistic and behaviour-sensitive guarantee assessment model has become increasingly evident. This study develops and evaluates a risk-based guarantee model that incorporates environmental, social, governance, and business-character indicators as complementary dimensions of MSME risk profiling. A total of 33 indicators were constructed and organized into four weighting categories to reflect their relative contribution to sustainability-related risk. A mixed-method approach was employed. The qualitative stage involved indicator formulation and refinement, while the quantitative stage used confirmatory factor analysis, logistic regression, and predictive performance evaluation through ROC curves, AUC values, and confusion matrices. The results demonstrate that all ESG dimensions meaningfully influence guarantee eligibility. Governance indicators emerged as the strongest predictors, followed by environmental, social, and business-character factors. The model’s classification performance shows notable improvements compared with collateral-based assessments, with higher predictive accuracy and significantly lower misclassification rates. The inclusion of digital transaction data and other alternative data further enhanced the model’s ability to identify behavioural patterns and operational consistency among MSMEs. Overall, the findings indicate that an ESG-integrated guarantee assessment framework offers a practical and adaptive alternative for institutions such as Jamkrindo. The model not only strengthens risk evaluation and reduces claim exposure but also supports broader national objectives in sustainable finance. These insights provide a foundation for developing a more inclusive, data-driven, and sustainability-aligned guarantee ecosystem.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in strengthening the quality, transparency, and credibility of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures in contemporary sustainability reporting. Drawing on 35 peer-reviewed Scopus Q1/Q2 articles published between 2020 and 2025, the review synthesizes current evidence on how AI supports anomaly detection, automates data processing, enhances verifiability, and mitigates greenwashing practices. The findings reveal five major thematic insights: (1) AI substantially improves the accuracy and consistency of ESG disclosure; (2) AI-enabled linguistic and anomaly-based models are effective in detecting misleading sustainability claims; (3) digital transparency supported by AI strengthens perceived authenticity of corporate sustainability efforts; (4) the credibility of AI-processed ESG information enhances stakeholder trust by reducing informational risk; and (5) AI-enhanced authenticity and trust positively influence consumer responses, including green attitudes, loyalty, and sustainable purchase intentions. This study highlights persistent gaps in the integration of AI governance, ethics, and cross-market applications, especially in emerging economies. The review contributes an evidence-based conceptual synthesis for understanding the mechanisms through which AI reinforces sustainability communication and suggests directions for future empirical research. Abstract

Climate risk disclosure has emerged as a critical mechanism linking corporate transparency with market valuation, yet empirical evidence remains heterogeneous across contexts. This systematic literature review synthesizes 24 peer-reviewed articles (2015-2025) to examine how climate risk disclosure affects investor confidence and market valuation under varying regulatory dynamics. Following established systematic review protocols, studies were systematically sourced from four major databases (Scopus, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, Wiley) and analyzed using thematic synthesis. Results reveal that 68% of studies demonstrate positive relationships between disclosure quality and market outcomes, with high-quality climate disclosure associated with 15-25 basis points reduction in cost of capital and 3-8% increase in Tobin's Q. Investor confidence emerges as a critical mediator, accounting for approximately 60% of the total effect between disclosure and valuation. However, effectiveness is highly context-dependent: regulatory stringency, governance quality, external assurance, investor sophistication, and industry materiality act as decisive moderators. The study contributes the Climate-Trust-Value (CTV) Framework, integrating signaling, trust, and institutional theories to explain when, where, and how transparency translates into market value. Findings provide evidence-based guidance for corporate disclosure strategies, regulatory design, and investment decision-making in the evolving landscape of climate finance.

Abstract

The mining services industry in Indonesia is under growing pressure to adopt more sustainable operational practices in response to shifting environmental expectations, tightening regulatory demands, and evolving client requirements. Diesel powered haulage systems remain the dominant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and cost inefficiencies within the mining supply chain. This study investigates how Battery Electric Mining Dump Trucks (BEMDT) can serve as a catalyst for green supply chain transformation in large-scale coal mining operations. Drawing on a qualitative case study approach supported by the Triple Bottom Line framework, the research incorporates operational observations and relevant literature to examine the feasibility, benefits, and barriers associated with BEMDT adoption. The findings reveal that electrifying haulage operations offers substantial environmental benefits through reduced emissions, alongside long-term economic gains driven by lower energy and maintenance costs. The transition also enhances alignment with the sustainability commitments of mining principals pursuing Net Zero pathways. However, challenges persist, particularly related to capital requirements, charging infrastructure, workforce readiness, and policy uncertainty. The study proposes a conceptual model that integrates electrification within the broader Green Supply Chain Management framework. The model provides both theoretical contributions and practical guidance for mining contractors seeking to enhance sustainability performance in emerging market contexts. Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of Work Engagement in the relationship between the implementation of Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) and Green Digital Technology with Employee Performance at Bank Indonesia, Balikpapan. Adopting a quantitative methodology, this research gathered primary data from 133 employees selected through simple random sampling. The data were subsequently analyzed using path analysis with multiple linear regression. The analysis revealed that Work Engagement is significantly and positively influenced by the adoption of both Green HRM and Green Digital Technology. Furthermore, Work Engagement was proven to be a significant predictor of enhanced Employee Performance. The study's central finding highlights the mediating function of Work Engagement. It was found that Work Engagement partially mediates the link between Green HRM and Employee Performance. In contrast, Work Engagement acts as a full mediator for the relationship between Green Digital Technology and Employee Performance, which is demonstrated by the direct influence of Green Digital Technology on performance becoming non-significant when Work Engagement was included in the analysis model. The implication is that the success of green initiatives in boosting performance is highly dependent on an organization's ability to cultivate work engagement, as this engagement serves as the crucial psychological process that transforms green policies into superior performance outcomes.
