Abstract

Green or environmentally friendly entrepreneurial behaviour is independent business behaviour whose practices pay attention to the balance between economic aspects, organizational aspects and community aspects. The degradation of the quality of life's welfare forces humans to pay full attention to social, environmental and economic aspects as an embodiment of the concept of sustainable development, namely efforts to fulfil the needs of life today so as not to ignore the ability of future generations to be able to meet their needs. The aim of this activity is to improve technical and managerial skills in environmentally friendly entrepreneurs, build self-confidence, and empower women who work in the green economy sector in Batu City. Through the use of workshop-based methods, participants were trained to enhance environmental awareness and to manage their businesses in a more environmentally friendly manner. The outcomes of the activity included a significant improvement in participants' understanding of the importance of applying sustainability principles in business operations. Furthermore, the program successfully empowered women entrepreneurs by instilling a green entrepreneurship mindset that can drive economic growth, create job opportunities, and deliver substantial benefits to both society and the environment. This was reflected in the participants' enthusiasm during discussion sessions and their active engagement through questions, which facilitated a deeper understanding of the topics presented. The conclusion from this activity is that environmentally friendly entrepreneurship has a strategic role in supporting sustainable practices through a balance between economic, social and environmental aspects.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of religiosity on employee performance, considering the role of entrepreneurial leadership as a mediating variable. In the modern era, the development of technology and health systems increasingly impacts the quality of hospital services, which depend on the performance of human resources. One factor that can influence employee performance is religiosity, which is believed to enhance positive work behavior and quality service. However, the results of studies related to the connection between religiosity and employee performance are still inconsistent, with some showing significant effects and others showing no significant effects. In this article, entrepreneurial leadership is viewed as a factor that can strengthen the influence of religiosity on employee performance. This type of leadership emphasizes innovative decision-making, employee empowerment, and the development of organizational cultures that support high performance. Using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach, this study is expected to provide further understanding of how religiosity and entrepreneurial leadership are interrelated and influence employee performance, particularly in the healthcare sector. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to human resource management in hospitals and other sectors that require performance improvement through the management of religious values and innovative leadership.

Abstract

The issue of domestic waste management in Indonesia remains a significant challenge, especially at the household level in residential areas. Despite existing regulations and community-based waste management efforts, implementation in the field still faces various obstacles such as a lack of awareness and institutional support. This study conducted a community service intervention by strengthening the role of the Community Self-Help Group (Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat, KSM) in RW 01, Rampal Claket Village, Malang City, through training, technical facilitation, and the development of a community-based waste management model using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The results show a significant increase in residents’ participation in sorting, managing, and recycling waste, as well as the strengthening of KSM’s organizational capacity in operational management and waste-based entrepreneurship. This program contributed to the reduction of inorganic waste volume sent to the Final Disposal Site (Tempat Pembuangan Akhir, TPA), empowered the community’s micro-economy, and enhanced environmental awareness. These findings emphasize the importance of triple helix collaboration among universities, government, and communities in building an effective, sustainable waste management system with positive socio-ecological impacts.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the influence of green transformational leadership (GTL) on employee green behavior (EGB) in the hospitality sector of East Java, Indonesia, mediated by green self-efficacy (GSE) and green organizational culture (GOC). Addressing inconsistencies in prior research, the study aims to clarify how leadership and organizational factors collectively foster pro-environmental behaviors in sustainable tourism organizations. Research Methodology: This study used a quantitative explanatory survey involving 340 employees from 368 starred hotels in East Java. Samples were selected using the Slovin formula, and data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0 to examine GTL, GSE, GOC, and EGB relationships. Results: The study reveals three key findings: (1) GTL significantly enhances both GSE and GOC, with stronger effects on GOC (path coefficient = 0.852); (2) GSE and GOC partially mediate the relationship between GTL and EGB, with GOC exhibiting a stronger mediating role (path coefficient = 0.389); and (3) GTL directly influences EGB, though its indirect effects through mediators are more pronounced. Conclusions: The findings underscore the pivotal role of GTL in shaping employees' confidence and organizational culture to drive green behaviors. Organizations should prioritize leadership development and cultural initiatives to align sustainability goals with daily practices. Limitations: The study is geographically confined to East Java’s hospitality sector and relies on self-reported data, which may introduce bias. Future research could expand to other regions and industries while incorporating longitudinal designs. Contribution: This study advances theoretical understanding by integrating GSE and GOC as mediators in the GTL-EGB relationship. Practically, it offers actionable insights for fostering sustainable workplaces through leadership and cultural interventions.
