Abstract

Activities of Community service in scheme of Program Kemitrasaan Masyarakat (PKM) aim to improve the competence of high school and vocational high school chemistry teachers in Pariaman Regency in making PPT-iSpring learning media which have macroscopic, submicroscopic and symbolic level. PKM methods are lectures, demonstrations and workshops. The lecture method is used to convey ICT and internet terminology, three levels of chemistry representation and 21st century learning. The demonstration method is to download general chemistry e-books and chemistry learning videos and workshops for making PPT-iSpring learning media. This activity can improve the knowledge and skills of chemistry teachers using various learning resources from websites, teachers' knowledge of the three levels of representation and their interconnections, chemistry teachers' knowledge and skills in combining chemistry learning resources to be used in making PPT-iSpring learning media based on ICT with an emphasis on macroscopic, submicroscopic and symbolic level representation.

Abstract

Sigil is an e-module creation software that can be used by high school teachers to help provide various teaching materials. However, the teacher's ability to use the Sigil software is still low where the teacher is still not able to apply the teaching materials in this e-module. E-modules can be used in online learning. One of the learning models that can be used is the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) learning model. For this reason, society service for chemistry teachers who are members of the Padang Panjang Chemistry MGMP has been carried out in the form of a GDL-based e-module development workshop using the Sigil application. After the activity, it was found that the teacher understood and was able to create a GDL-based e-module using Sigil.

Abstract

Rice is one of the national mainstay commodities that have an important role in the Indonesian economy, which is also a mainstay crop commodity in Solok Regency. Solok Regency is famous for its high-quality rice. Nagari Dilam, Bukit Sundi District, as a village with a large rice commodity in Solok Regency, most of the residents have a livelihood as rice farmers. To obtain good yields, the material that is needed during the planting process is fertilizer. However, fertilizer problems almost always appear every year in this area. In the last 2 years, farmers have been facing these two problems, including the price of commercial inorganic fertilizers (Urea, SP36, KCl, ZA) which tends to increase. In addition, without realizing it, the intensive use of commercial inorganic fertilizers can cause a decrease in soil fertility and soil organic matter decreases. The idea of using wasted straw came up as a way to solve all of mentioned problems to produce organic fertilizer. A training in preparation of organic fertilizer from wasted straw has been conducted in Nagari Dilam. The produced organic fertilizer has been analyzed for N, P,K containing substance. The fertilizer contains 0.030%, 4.563% and 1.369% of N, P, and K respectively.

Abstract

The learning situation after the COVID-19 pandemic has not fully recovered. Mathematics learning, especially at the tertiary level, is carried out using a blended learning model, namely some learning is carried out face-to-face and partly online. Therefore, adequate learning media or applications are needed so that learning can take place optimally. One of the media that can be used as a solution to this problem is the Sowiso application. The sowiso application is a media in the form of a digital book that is equipped with exercises so that it is possible to improve students' mathematical concept understanding skills. Therefore, a training was held with the theme "Improving Students' Mathematical Concept Ability by Using the Sowiso Application".

Abstract

This paper aims to report the result of the training to increase teacher competence in writing Best Practices with the Special Projects Assignments Method and developing competent teachers who can write articles and their impact on sustainable competency development. The methods used in the service of participatory methods are offline and online. This training phase begins offline by administering questionnaires, and designing problems, then followed by providing Best Practices writing technique skills offline; discussion at the end of the training carried out online. The training results show that the competence of senior high school teachers in Pesisir Selatan has increased in writing best practice reports, with only one person (5%) still needing to submit didn’t draft required. This increase was also supported by the success of two training participants from SMAN 3 Painan, namely Zulmariko, in the 3rd place, and Darma Yunita, who was selected as the finalist in the best practice contest in the Province of West Sumatra on November 2022.

Abstract

Snack types of chips, biscuits are sold using packaging. The snack packaging contains important information related to the nutritional component of the snack, expiration date, product halalness and other important information that is important for buyers to know. Elementary school students have insufficient attention and knowledge related to the information on snack packaging so that it can result in adverse conditions for elementary school students if they consume snacks that are not good for health. As a preventive step, it is necessary to educate elementary school children, one of which is knowledge of how to identify the meaning of symbols and information found on snack packages. The methods used in this activity are lectures and discussions by conveying information to elementary school students about the information found on snack packages and demonstrating several pictures and ways to identify symbols found on snack packages. The results of the evaluation showed that the students enthusiastically participated in this activity. In addition, there is also an increase in students' knowledge and ability to explain the symbols and information found on snack packaging.

Abstract

Aur Serumpun farmers group is one of farmer group with their corn farming business. This farmer group is in Simpang Alahan Mati District, Kab. Pasaman, West Sumatra Province. So far, farmers only sell corn that has been dried. The processing of corn is a basic need for members of farmer groups in order to have product diversification which in turn can increase the economy of these farmers. In the previous activities (2019), it was known about processed corn products, namely tortilla chips. However, according to the needs of farmer groups, an increase in dry corn production is the most important. Therefore, in this 2022 activity, the activity of making Dryer houses for the Aur Serumpun Farmer Group was carried out. This development is a collaboration between Andalas University and the Farmers Group which is expected to increase the production capacity of dry corn because the use of drying houses can speed up the drying process. In 2022, a drying house with a size of 5 X 10 meters has been built and is very useful for the drying process, especially during the rainy season. The efficiency of using the tool will be carried out by involving students and carried out as an evaluation of this activity in the future.
