Abstract

A prosthetic leg is a lower extremity movement aid in assisting the mobility of persons with physical disabilities. A prosthetic leg is used to replace a missing leg, either due to a birth defect or an amputation. The use of a prosthetic leg is a different matter if the user has never experienced movement sensation. This service will evaluate the process of assisting the use of prosthetic legs for people with physical disabilities from birth. So far, prosthetic foot manufacturing services that have been carried out by the Prosthetic Orthosis Profession in Indonesia have focused on making sockets. Most users have physical abnormalities for a history of amputation or not birth defects. So that in the process of practicing the use of prosthetic legs there are no difficulties. It's different if the user of this prosthetic leg is congenital who has not felt the sensation of stepping movement at all or what is known as the gait cycle. Forms of community service activities in the process of assisting the use of prosthetic legs and evaluating any obstacles encountered in the walking process.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (K3) is very important. There are various types and levels of employment sectors in Indonesia, one of which is in the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) sector which is engaged in the welding service sector. Based on observations made at UMKM "Bintang Jaya Steel", there are many conditions that are quite dangerous to the K3 of workers, because workers carry out welding processes and other work, without using PPE. Some workers also show a lack of understanding regarding the use of PPE in the welding process. This is certainly contrary to the importance of implementing K3 in this type of work. This Community Service activity is carried out with the aim of solving existing problems with partners. So far the partners do not fully know the legal basis for OSH and all the PPE needed for welding work, especially in construction work. The service is carried out by providing socialization and procuring PPE for construction welding work at these MSMEs. The results of this activity can be in accordance with the plan. This is shown from the evaluation and discussion results, where supervisors as well as MSME owners and operators can apply the use of PPE in construction welding work.

Abstract

Extracurricular activities in the world of education are a necessity for students to improve students' psychomotor skills. Academic activities in participating in extracurricular activities will help students form creative learning patterns and be able to increase creativity in sports and skills in areas of interest and talent. The problem that occurs at Dimitra is that there is no structure in conveying information and monitoring students when taking part in extracurricular activities at Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah Manarul Huda. The information system implemented in this service is expected to help provide information on student development in extracurricular activities and can be monitored by parents. The method applied in this activity uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method and applies WhatsApp technology with the aim of much faster development with better quality. From the results of the alpha testing, it shows that the application can be applied to partners for community service within the Madrasah Tsanawiyah and Madrasah Aliyah Manarul Huda as a medium for information on extracurricular developments.

Abstract

Children who are different from other kids their age or from kids in general are known as children with special needs, or ABK. The process of growth and development, which entails deviations or abnormalities on all fronts—physically, cognitively, intellectually, and socially—is one way in which these disparities appear. The findings of an investigation at SLB C-YPSLB Surakarta revealed issues with intellectual impairment and mobility disorders. When it comes to the quality of physical activity for children with mental retardation who require specialized instruction and supervision, motor development is a crucial factor. The fulfillment of physical needs is also impaired, namely sensorimotor skills, body balance, the ability to recognize the environment, body coordination and mobility, and body flexibility. Gymnastics for Children with Special Needs (ABK) was chosen as a solution to improve their motor skills. The chosen method is doing gymnastic movements together and guided by physiotherapy. Gymnastics has important benefits for health, child development now and in the future. Other benefits include strengthening children's muscles, bones and heart, as well as improving children's coordination, balance, posture and flexibility to achieve a better quality of life.

Abstract

The level of understanding among tempeh producers in Habaring Hurung Village on waste treatment remains significantly limited. Liquid waste from production is directly discharged into water bodies and causes various environmental problems. Consequently, a program was implemented to provide knowledge regarding suitable technology for effectively managing tempeh liquid waste to produce environmentally sustainable biogas. This initiative occurred in Habaring Hurung Village in the Bukit Batu District of Palangka Raya City. The community empowerment activity begins with a careful preparation process, followed by collaborative efforts with partners, the assembly of biogas reactors, and socialization initiatives, and concludes with an evaluation phase. The findings derived from this project indicate that the Habaring Hurung Village community has demonstrated proficiency in constructing biogas reactors. Moreover, there has been an obvious improvement in the community's understanding of liquid waste utilization and environmental management.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nira Lestari is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in coconut processing, including Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). VCO products produced by partners have low quality and quickly smell rancid. These problems are caused by the manual production process which causes a long production time, the inclusion of water that causes hydrolysis and the high volatile compounds in VCO. The purpose of this program is to design a centrifugation device and vacuum pump filter to increase the efficiency of partner production and eliminate rancid odor in the VCO produced. The method used in this service is a survey of partner needs, tool design, tool making, tool testing, tool application and product testing. The application of the two tools has been proven to help streamline partner production and eliminate rancidity. Laboratory test results of VCO after the use of the tool show that VCO has a moisture content of 0.0829% and a germ content of 0%.

Abstract

Retail owners need to utilize transaction data for customer buying patterns. By knowing the pattern of customer purchases, retail owners can adjust the layout of the store and the layout of goods on the display rack or a planogram to increase product visibility which refers to increased sales. Not many retail owners are aware of the benefits of using a good planogram and how to design it, so it is essential to provide training related to planograms to the public so they can know how to create planograms properly and correctly. Community service will be conducted from July to October 2022 in Sleman, Bantul, and Temanggung Regency and its surroundings, with interactive mentoring methods with material delivery and questions and answers. Submission of the material contains definitions, benefits, and illustrations of the application of the planogram in the retail industry, as well as the stages of planning the planogram. With this community service, it is hoped that retail business owners who participate in the mentoring can utilize transaction data at each retailer to develop a planogram based on customer purchasing patterns, thereby increasing sales and customer satisfaction.
