Abstract

Employee retention has become an increasing concern in healthcare institutions facing workforce instability and persistent turnover challenges. This study examines the relationship between organizational justice and employee retention through the mediating role of job embeddedness among nurses at Hospital X in Bandung. While fairness perceptions shape employees evaluation of organizational practices, retention decisions are often influenced by the extent to which employees feel socially and psychologically connected to their workplace. Using a quantitative survey design, this research targeted 202 permanent nurses selected through purposive sampling; however, 220 valid responses were successfully collected and analyzed. Data were processed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS software. Analytical procedures included measurement model validation, structural model assessment, and bootstrapping to examine direct and indirect relationships. The results show that organizational justice does not significantly influence employee retention through a direct pathway. Its contribution emerges indirectly by strengthening job embeddedness, which subsequently increases employees’ intention to remain in the organization. Nurses who perceive equitable treatment are more likely to develop stronger workplace attachment, organizational fit, and perceived sacrifice associated with leaving. Job embeddedness therefore acts as a full mediator linking fairness perceptions to retention outcomes. These findings suggest that retention initiatives in hospital settings should extend beyond formal fairness practices. Building meaningful interpersonal connections, reinforcing organizational fit, and cultivating stronger attachment to the work environment may offer a more sustainable strategy for maintaining nursing workforce stability.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia, driven by internet penetration reaching 229.4 million users in 2025, has intensified marketplace competition with Shopee maintaining its dominant position. While chatbot AI has become a critical customer service interface in e-commerce platforms, its mere presence does not guarantee actual use by all users. This study aims to examine the influence of Perceived Usefulness on Actual System Usage of Shopee's chatbot, with Attitude Toward Using as a mediating variable, within the Technology Acceptance Model framework. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, involving 190 Shopee chatbot users in East Java selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via an online questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 3, including bootstrapping with 5,000 resamples for mediation testing. All four hypotheses were supported. PU significantly influences ATU (β = 0.623; p < 0.001) and ASU directly (β = 0.265; p = 0.003). ATU significantly influences ASU (β = 0.540; p < 0.001). ATU partially mediates the PU–ASU relationship with an indirect effect of 0.336 and VAF of 55.9%, confirming complementary partial mediation. The model explains 54.0% of ASU variance. ATU serves as the dominant mediating mechanism through which PU influences actual chatbot usage, with more than half of PU's total effect on ASU operating through positive attitude formation. These findings underscore the strategic importance of affective user experience design alongside functional improvements in e-commerce chatbot development.

Abstract

This study empirically examines the direct influence of Generative AI and content creation on purchase intention among TikTok users in Indonesia. Grounded in the Stimulus-Organism-Response theory, GenAI and content creation are positioned as digital marketing stimuli that shape consumer behavioral responses. Using a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, data were collected via an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z and Millennial users in East Java who had been exposed to AI-assisted promotional content on TikTok. A total of 169 valid respondents were obtained through purposive sampling. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed after confirming validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. Results indicate that GenAI (β = 0.893, t = 16.673, p < 0.001) and content creation (β = 0.357, t = 5.088, p < 0.001) both significantly and positively influence purchase intention, explaining 78.3% of its variance (Adjusted R² = 0.783). GenAI emerged as the dominant predictor (Beta = 0.737). This study contributes to the digital marketing literature by simultaneously testing two variables previously examined in isolation within the short-video platform context of TikTok.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital engagement and environmental awareness on destination sustainability perception and its impact on responsible tourism behaviour among tourists visiting Karimunjawa Island, Indonesia. The research aims to analyse both direct and indirect relationships among the variables within the context of sustainable tourism. A quantitative approach was employed, using a survey of 201 respondents who had visited Karimunjawa within the last two years. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using purposive sampling techniques and analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The results indicate that destination sustainability perception has a significant positive effect on responsible tourism behaviour. Digital engagement significantly influences perceptions of destination sustainability and indirectly affects responsible tourism through this mediating role. However, environmental awareness does not significantly affect destination sustainability perception, either directly or indirectly through mediation effects. These findings suggest that digital interaction and online tourism communication play a more dominant role in shaping perceptions of sustainable destinations and responsible tourism behaviour than environmental awareness alone. The study contributes to the sustainable tourism literature by integrating digital engagement, environmental awareness, destination sustainability perception, and responsible tourism into a comprehensive research model. Practically, the findings provide insights for tourism stakeholders in designing digital-based sustainability communication strategies to promote responsible tourism behaviour in island tourism destinations.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of the use of digital technology and human capital on the employment opportunities of married women in Riau Province. The scope of the study was focused on women of working age and married status by considering socioeconomic factors that may affect their participation in the labor market. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the use of digital technology can increase the chances of married women to work, as well as identify other factors that play a role in women's decision to enter the job market. This study uses a quantitative approach with the logistic regression method. The data used was sourced from the National Labor Force Survey in August 2022 with 6347 observations of women's productive age and married status. The dependent variable in this study is the working status of married women, while the main independent variable is the use of digital technology and the purpose of using the internet for productive activities. Control variables included education, age, training, and area of residence. The results of the study show that the use of digital technology has a positive effect on the chances of married women to work. Although the use of digital devices increases employment opportunities, there is a digital divide in married women that the digital access obtained in general has not been used for the purpose of activities of economic value by married women. In addition, education and training also play an important role in increasing women's employment opportunities. The main conclusion of this study is that digital technology can be an important instrument in expanding women's access to job information, business opportunities, and productive economic activities if there is no digital divide caused by low digital literacy to the lack of understanding of married women in utilizing this access. Thus, these benefits need to be supported by increasing digital literacy, online skills improvement programs, digital-based entrepreneurship socialization and inclusive employment policies.

Abstract

This research investigates the construction of a web-based Material Quality Monitoring Information System for PT MBR using the Rapid Application Development method. This study was undertaken because recording incoming materials, defect monitoring, and supplier assessment are still manual processes using Microsoft Excel, resulting in less efficient performance, time-dependent reporting requirements, and higher risk of data input errors and duplication. This research aims to create a system to perform material quality monitoring activities more efficiently, and that is integrated, rather than single task. Methods of data collection which are considered for our study include observation, interviews, and literature reviews. It encompasses requirements, design analysis, implementation, and testing. The development process is to design the system using the Unified Modelling Language and implemented with Laravel, Bootstrap, Chart.js framework and MySQL DB. The system produced has capabilities for handling incoming material data handling, documentation and managing defect data, material quality monitoring dashboard and defect percentage dashboard by suppliers for defect performance assessment. Further, the system can display material quality information in graphs and reports that can be accessed online in real time for ease of monitoring and decision-making of users. The work outcomes indicate that the system developed demonstrates the system integration in that all the material quality information can be integrated in one structured and easy-to-use web platform accessible more seamlessly to the users. Using the black box test results, all the system functions worked according to user requirement. And as such, it can be used by PT MBR for material quality monitoring and supplier evaluation.

Abstract

Urban marathon events are increasingly recognized as strategic tools for tourism promotion, city branding, and community engagement. Existing studies have predominantly focused on economic outcomes, with limited attention to how different levels of involvement perceive and respond to such events. This gap is important because residents’ support is critical to the long-term sustainability of recurring urban events, yet empirical evidence from the Indonesian context remains limited. This study aims to examine how multidimensional perceived benefits influence residents’ event attachment and support intention, while distinguishing between high- and low-involvement residents. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach. The population consisted of residents living in marathon-hosting cities in Indonesia, and purposive sampling was used to select individuals aged 18 years and above who had knowledge of or exposure to the event. Data were collected from 320 residents across Jakarta, Bali, and Magelang and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling and multi-group analysis in SmartPLS. The findings show that all perceived benefit dimensions significantly influence event attachment, with social and personal benefits emerging as the strongest predictors. Several key relationships were also found to be stronger among highly involved residents. These findings imply that marathon events should not only deliver visible benefits but also foster stronger emotional engagement and deeper resident involvement to build sustainable community support.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven significant changes in consumer behavior, particularly among Generation Z. The ease of access to online shopping platforms has made this generation highly responsive to visual and emotional promotions, rendering them more susceptible to impulsive buying behavior. This study aims to analyze the influence of technology, promotion, and religiosity on impulsive buying behavior among Generation Z. This quantitative research employed a questionnaire distributed through online channels and collected responses from 173 participants in Indonesia. Data analysis and hypothesis testing were conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results indicate that technology (β = 0.383) and promotion (β = 0.359) have a positive and significant effect on impulsive buying behavior. Meanwhile, religiosity (β = -0.103) shows a negative but statistically insignificant effect on impulsive buying behavior. These findings suggest that although religiosity may contribute to reducing impulsive buying tendencies, its influence is not strong enough to significantly affect purchasing behavior among Generation Z consumers in the digital environment.
