The social communication of the alpha generation in the current era, which is familiar with the digital environment due to the covid-19 pandemic, is a quite unique conversation to study because they spend more time with their gadgets than socialize with the people around them. As a result, this study aims to investigate how alpha generation social communication forms and the factors that cause them using the analysis of Brown et al’s. (1987) theory and Culpeper’s (2011) theory, and then this study aims to restore alpha generation social communication using behavior modification by using reward and punishment and economy token techniques. The descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. This study's findings include the discovered social communication forms in the politeness and impoliteness categories. Contributing factors include both parents' upbringing, friends from one's surroundings, social media, oneself, and others. And the end result of using behavior modification produces a genuine before-and-after behavior, such as providing a developmental impact on positive behavior and eliminating negative behavior.

Abstract

In Indonesia it is often heard and seen that a situation can occur because there is a mystical element around it. This mystical element goes hand in hand with normal conditions and this has become normal consumption in society. This confusion between reality and mysticism also often appears in the stories of islamic kiai/ulama. They have supernatural powers where these conditions are manifested in the real world so that these real conditions become even more unique with the presence of this mystical element. The supernatural powers within the kiai's body are displayed beautifully in the short story Kiai Genggong by Moh. Wan Anwar. We know that the world of literature does not just create reality as a framework for stories, but mystical elements can also be injected into it. These mystical elements are sometimes inexplicable and supernatural. In it there are strange events so that there seems to be no boundary between the real situation and the supernatural when they collide with each other. By using Wendy B. Faris' theory of magical realism and combining it with Lexy J. Moleong's qualitative research method, this research tries to explore mystical points above the surface of normality in short stories to find out the role and function of mysticism in life. Based on this research, it is known that mysticism in Indonesian islamic boarding schools plays a role as a means of spiritual development and deep understanding of islamic teachings. Its main functions include strengthening the relationship with God, enriching religious experiences, and educating students about moral and ethical values through practices such as dhikr, wirid, and special rituals. Apart from that, mysticism also helps maintain the unique religious traditions and culture in the islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

Walt Disney Pictures has adapted several famous animated cartoons into live-action films in recent years, including Alice in Wonderland. The film is based on Lewis Carroll's classic novel, which tells the story of Alice's adventures in Wonderland. The adaptation process brought several changes in the form of the latest story. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to investigate and examine the reimagination markers and reimagination functions from the animated film Alice in Wonderland (1951) to the live-action version (2010). This study utilizes the reimagination theory of Purnomo et al., which categorizes markers into mutations and presences in textual, visual, and operative elements. These markers allow the work to fulfill various functions, including Stylistic, Ludic, Metathetic, Media, Branding, and Cultural Functions. This study found significant variations between the 1951 animated and 2010 live-action versions of Alice in Wonderland. The most common reimagination markers were in the visual elements. Meanwhile, the stylistic function is most frequently found in the function section. The findings of this study are likely to provide an additional and new understanding of cinematic adaptation and literary reimagination.

Abstract

This research focuses on humor in the Rudat Temu Karya performance in southern East Lombok. Most previous studies only studied the story and value aspects of traditional Lombok drama performances, but failed to examine the aspect that is the main attraction for audiences, namely the humor aspect. Based on Berger's humor theory which divides humor techniques into four categories, namely language, logic, identity and action, this research examines the anatomical aspects of traditional Lombok drama humor which relate to the socio-cultural context of Lombok society. The data in this research was collected using interview and documentary methods. The results of this research show that the variations of techniques that are widely used are various humor techniques which include humor in language categories such as ridicule, theme and variations, insults, and puns (play on words). The most dominant technique used is the slapstick technique (rough jokes/jokes) which is included in the action category. Research on this aspect of humor shows that socio-cultural aspects influence the success of humor in rudat Temu Karya performances.
