Abstract

In this study, researchers will discuss the behavior that doesn’t appreciate the time or called procrastination particularly in the case of students’ academic procrastination in finishing their thesis. The target of this study is students of the last semester Islamic Guidance and Counseling Department in UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya for the 2015-2016 academic year. In general, students have a study period of around 3.5 years up to 4 years. But not all students can finish their thesis on time. So, it makes an unrest effect on them. This occurs because it tends to delay their thesis. As a result, many students are unable to finish the thesis program within the specified time for their graduation. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to guide academic procrastination among these students. The Islamic Guidance and Counseling Department Program provides consultation, namely Islamic Counseling Guidance. The purpose of Islamic counseling guidance is to help students, so they do not give up easily in terms of facing their problems. Such as educational problems or personal problems (external or internal) and to help individuals maintain and develop good situations so as not to become a source of problems for themselves and others. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a survey approach. This research refers to the problems or facts that occur. The technique of collecting data is by the survey, interview, and treatment.

Abstract

This study examines the persuasive techniques used in business storytelling of three entrepreneurs in Surabaya. They are Drs. Daryono, Abdul Chalim, and Samsudin. They experienced a slump in their first business history. Then they becomes a successful entrepreneur in their business until now. This studi applying descriptive qualitative methods. And this study finds that their business storytelling uses some of the seven components of the persuasive technique of Keraf with the use of different types. Drs. Daryono’s business storytelling use rationalization, identification, compensation, and projection. Abdul Chalim’s business storytelling use rationalization, identification, suggestion, and conformity. And Samsudin’s business storytelling use rationalization, identification, suggestion, conformity, compensation, and displacement.The persuasive techniques serve as promotional tools to persuade many schools and institutions persuade many people and make the business grow.

Abstract

One of the methods can be used by the teacher in teaching and learning process are through game. The aim of this research is to know the applying guessing game and non-guessing game technique on the students’ speaking skill. The research design of this research is quantitative, and the kind is expremental design where the researcher try to give teatment to the students. There are two variables in this case which are called as expremental group and control. The researcher got the result of the research where Mx 1,4 and My 5,75 so that it can be concluded that the difference is 4.35. It is significance because when the students compare the result of the post test of control group and experimental group. The results of this research show that by using test, we know that a significance difference between the students taught by using guessing game and non using guessing game at the first level of SMP Al-Falah Assalam Sidoarjo. It means that the students taught by using guessing game have better skill than the students who are not taught by using guessing game. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to identify the influences and analysis of success with the internalization of emotional intelligence, intellectual intelligence, and spiritual intelligence in achievement on the learning outcomes of students in Zone Course Institution. The data was analysis quantitative also deviation standard and qualitatively. The result informed that the students' emotional intelligence has so much effect on the students' character and the contribution to the environment and the learning outcomes. The capability of the student that has balanced intellectual intelligence, spiritual intelligence, and emotional intelligence has a worthwhile contribution because they are able to manage emotion, ability to perceive, interpret, demonstrate, and relate effectively and constructively with other people. The ability to express and control emotion is very important, as is the ability to understand and respond to the emotions of others. Hopefully, all students can meet high criteria in understanding IQ, SQ, and EQ to achieve good goals in the future.Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Intellectual Intelligence, Spiritual Intelligence

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pola komunikasi sosial Generasi Alpha, kelompok generasi yang tumbuh dalam lingkungan digital dan dipengaruhi oleh orang-orang di sekitar mereka. Penelitian ini mengkaji bentuk-bentuk komunikasi sosial yang ditunjukkan oleh generasi ini serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya, dengan menggunakan kerangka teori Brown & Levinson (1987) dan Culpeper (2011). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan komunikasi sosial Generasi Alpha melalui penerapan strategi modifikasi perilaku, termasuk sistem reward and punishment serta teknik ekonomi token. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, temuan penelitian ini mengungkap berbagai bentuk komunikasi sosial yang dikategorikan ke dalam kesantunan (politeness) dan ketidaksantunan (impoliteness). Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi meliputi pola asuh orang tua, interaksi dengan teman sebaya, paparan media sosial, persepsi diri, dan pengaruh eksternal. Penerapan teknik modifikasi perilaku menunjukkan perubahan yang signifikan, mendorong pengembangan perilaku positif dan mengurangi perilaku negatif.

Abstract

This research was motivated by there is a policy transition from BAN PT to LAM which requires funds to support the accreditation process. This research focuses analysis effectiveness of government subsidy programs for private university in Surabaya. The method uses mix-methods and the data collection applies three techniques, namely questionnaire, interviews, documentation. Questionnaire distributed to respondents to obtain data by utilizing Google Form. The interview was carried out with the structural officials of private universities in Surabaya also documentation used to sharpen the analysis. Data analysis according to Miles and Huberman concept includes collecting data, present data, reducing data, and drawing conclusions. Based on data analysis, the effectiveness related to the presence of a government subsidy program as a solution to the transition of accreditation policy from BAN PT to LAM. The results are of the research that this government subsidy program can ease the funding burden on private universities and have positive impact.

Abstract

Learning to talk is difficult. The students had difficulty communicating their views to others. A study was done to assist them in correcting their flaw. The treatment enlisted the participation of 30 students from three different schools. Each school assigned ten individuals at random. There were a total of 13 learning opportunities. A pre-test was completed by the students in order to conduct such a treatment. It is a method of determining their prior understanding of the English language. The teacher uses the grammar translation method to begin the learning process. The teacher used podcasts to help students improve their grammatical understanding. The information was presented in the form of short stories and conversations. Students learn vocabulary, hearing, speaking, and grammar by modifying them. The students took a post-test at the end of the treatment. To answer the research question, data from the pre-test, post-test, and document were analyzed using the mixmethod method. From the analysis, it can be concluded that employing the grammar translation approach and podcast material can assist students improve their speaking skills. Other teachers could use the same outcome to teach related subjects. Other researchers can build on them to get other results.

Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges, solutions, and impact of the LAMDIK  policy on educational quality at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The research uses Edward III's policy implementation theory to highlight the importance of communication, resources, implementer attitudes, and bureaucratic structures in policy execution. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through case studies, including observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis with triangulation. The findings reveal several challenges in implementing the policy within the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program, such as limited human resources, inadequate facilities, curriculum issues, weak internal quality assurance, and insufficient external collaboration. Strategies to address these include improving lecturer competence, regular quality monitoring, and expanding institutional partnerships. The policy implementation has contributed to higher educational standards, stronger institutional capacity, and the development of a continuous quality assurance culture.

Abstract

The social communication of the alpha generation in the current era, which is familiar with the digital environment due to the covid-19 pandemic, is a quite unique conversation to study because they spend more time with their gadgets than socialize with the people around them. As a result, this study aims to investigate how alpha generation social communication forms and the factors that cause them using the analysis of Brown et al’s. (1987) theory and Culpeper’s (2011) theory, and then this study aims to restore alpha generation social communication using behavior modification by using reward and punishment and economy token techniques. The descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. This study's findings include the discovered social communication forms in the politeness and impoliteness categories. Contributing factors include both parents' upbringing, friends from one's surroundings, social media, oneself, and others. And the end result of using behavior modification produces a genuine before-and-after behavior, such as providing a developmental impact on positive behavior and eliminating negative behavior.
