Abstract

Islamic education in the modern era faces significant challenges in integrating scientific knowledge with spiritual values. The separation between religious and empirical sciences often leads to a dichotomy that hinders the holistic goals of Islamic education. In this context, kauniyah verses—signs of God's greatness manifested in the universe—hold great potential as a philosophical foundation for constructing an integrative and transformative educational system. This study aims to explore how philosophy can serve as a means of transforming Islamic education through the perspective of kauniyah verses. The research employs a qualitative approach using library research, analyzing primary sources such as the Qur’an and classical tafsir, along with secondary sources including books, journals, and literature on Islamic philosophy of education. The findings reveal that the integration of philosophy and kauniyah verses fosters an educational paradigm that is not only cognitive but also spiritual and reflective. Philosophy acts as an interpretive framework that enables learners to understand natural phenomena not merely from a scientific lens, but also as divine signs pointing toward the strengthening of tauhid values. Consequently, Islamic education grounded in philosophical and kauniyah approaches can produce individuals who are intellectually capable and spiritually and ethically responsible. These findings affirm the urgency of transforming Islamic curricula to harmonize revelation and reason within a unified educational paradigm.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the implementation of the Qur’an tahfidz programme and the role of teachers in shaping students’ Islamic character at SDIT Umar bin Khattab Kudus. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the tahfidz programme is not only oriented towards achieving memorisation targets, but also a means of forming religious characters such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, and love for the Qur’an. Teachers have a central role as memorisation mentors, motivators, and role models in students’ daily behaviour. Supported by the Talaqqi and Qiraati methods, as well as routine religious practices at school, the Tahfidz program is implemented systematically. Challenges include low student motivation, limited family support, and poor time management. This study confirms that the collaboration between teachers, schools, and parents, established through practical involvement, significantly contributes to the development of students’ Islamic character through the tahfidz program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of Islamic religious education in character building for elementary school students. The method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The results of the study indicate that Islamic values ??such as honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and discipline can be instilled from an early age through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Religious education plays a strategic role as a moral foundation in facing the challenges of globalization and moral decadence. Contextual and enjoyable PAI learning in elementary schools greatly contributes to the formation of students' noble character. Islamic Religious Education that makes Islamic values ????instilled early in basic education will certainly make students have a very good character. At elementary school age, of course, teachers must choose very good learning methods, because at this age students still have a sense of play. Choosing methods that are adapted to the learning material certainly requires teachers to be able to hone their competencies so that the material can be accepted by students and applied in everyday life.

Abstract

Keberagaman budaya, agama, dan etnis merupakan realitas sosial yang tidak dapat dihindari di Indonesia sebagai negara multikultural. Dalam konteks ini, pluralisme menjadi landasan penting dalam mewujudkan kehidupan yang harmonis dan toleran di tengah masyarakat yang heterogen. artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep pluralisme dan nilai-nilainya dalam pendidikan agama Islam (PAI), serta strategi integrasinya dalam menciptakan pendidikan Islam yang inklusif. Pendekatan yang digunakan bersifat kualitatif dengan studi literatur sebagai metode utama, merujuk pada berbagai teori, perspektif keislaman, dan peraturan perundangan yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam multikultural mampu membentuk sikap toleransi, saling menghargai, empati, dan dialog antarumat beragama. Pendidikan yang mengintegrasikan nilai pluralisme berperan penting dalam mengurangi prasangka, memperkuat kohesi sosial, dan mendorong keterbukaan antarbudaya. Diperlukan peran aktif pendidik sebagai fasilitator, penyusun kurikulum yang inklusif, serta pencipta suasana kelas yang mendukung nilai-nilai kemajemukan. Dengan demikian, pendidikan agama Islam yang berbasis pluralisme merupakan fondasi strategis dalam membangun masyarakat Indonesia yang damai dan berkeadaban.

Abstract

This study focuses on describing the implementation of deep learning integrated with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the subject of Islamic Religious Education and Character Building (PAI and BP) at SMP Negeri 1 Salatiga. Deep learning plays a crucial role in shaping students’ critical, reflective, and meaningful thinking patterns, particularly in the digital era characterized by an abundance of information. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques consisting of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects include PAI and Character Building teachers, eighth-grade students, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and the principal. Data analysis follows the interactive model of , which includes the stages of data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing. data validity is ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that teachers have implemented deep learning through activities such as analyzing religious case studies, conducting reflective projects, and utilizing digital media such as Google, YouTube, and Quizizz. The integration of ICT has encouraged students to think critically, enhanced active participation, and strengthened the internalization of Islamic values. Moreover, the school environment’s excellence in the MAPSI CCI field has contributed to the success of this learning process. Therefore, ICT-based deep learning is considered effective in fostering students’ religious character and higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the role of kiai (Islamic scholars) in pesantren education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The purpose of this research is to analyze how kiai adapt to digital technology, strengthen digital competencies, integrate Islamic values with technology, and exercise transformational leadership in guiding students. The study employs a qualitative approach with a literature review and field observation as primary methods. Data were collected from interviews with kiai, observations of pesantren digital learning practices, and analysis of digital educational content. The findings indicate that kiai play a pivotal role as agents of innovation, ethical digital literacy mentors, and leaders in integrating technology with traditional Islamic education. Digital competencies in technological, pedagogical, and ethical dimensions enable kiai to implement blended learning, develop interactive educational media, and guide students in producing valuable digital content. Furthermore, transformational leadership by kiai fosters student creativity, critical thinking, and moral development, ensuring that technology enhances rather than undermines Islamic educational values. The study concludes that the transformation of kiai roles is essential for sustaining the relevance, quality, and ethical integrity of Islamic education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of the Qur’ani application as an instructional medium for tahsin learning in senior high schools, focusing on three key aspects: the impact of the application on students’ reading proficiency, the challenges encountered during its implementation, and the extent to which the application is integrated into classroom instruction. A qualitative research approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and supporting documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the Qur’ani application significantly enhances students’ reading abilities, particularly in improving makhraj accuracy, fluency, and mastery of difficult Arabic letters. Through features such as audio examples, repeated practice, and tajweed visualization, students are able to practice independently and gain greater confidence in reading the Qur'an. Nonetheless, several challenges were identified, including limited student devices, unstable internet connections, and the lack of teacher training to utilize the application's features optimally. Pedagogical challenges also arise from varying levels of students’ initial reading abilities, which affect the uniformity of learning progress. The integration of the Qur’ani application into tahsin learning remains in its early stages; however, it demonstrates strong potential when applied systematically and consistently. Overall, the Qur’ani application contributes positively to tahsin learning and requires stronger institutional support and teacher capacity-building for effective implementation.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research focuses on the efforts of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Salatiga in fostering students' worship discipline through the strategies of habituation and role modeling. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, gathered from interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the PAI Teachers implemented a comprehensive approach that encompassed eight routine programs. These programs include Morning Habituation (reciting Asmaul Husna), closely monitored Congregational Prayer (Dhuha, Dhuhur, Ashar), Tadarus Al-Qur'an, Weekly Infaq (alms), Kajian An-Nisa (for female students on their period), Jumat Taqwa (Pious Friday), Majlis Doa Mawar Allah (MDMA - Collective Prayer Assembly), and Kajian Masjid Al Ikhlas (for teaching staff). The synergy among PAI Teachers, homeroom teachers, and other educators supports these programs, focusing on establishing consistent routines and strengthening students' spiritual motivation. Despite facing challenges such as the tendency for worship to be formalistic, the consistency of habituation and teacher role modeling proved effective in building a structured religious culture. The study concludes that strengthening worship discipline requires a combination of planned school environmental control and internalization of values through the central role of the teacher as the primary exemplar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in improving students’ understanding of Al-Qur’an Hadith learning at MTs Ittihaadul Ulum Lubuklinggau. The background of this research stems from the challenge of low interest and comprehension among students regarding Al-Qur’an Hadith material, which requires innovative teaching strategies. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that teachers apply several strategies, including interactive lectures, group discussions, visual media-based learning, as well as assignments involving memorization and contextual interpretation of verses. These strategies have proven effective in enhancing students’ active engagement, strengthening memory retention, and fostering religious attitudes in daily life. The conclusion emphasizes that the success of Al-Qur’an Hadith learning is strongly influenced by teachers’ creativity in selecting and combining strategies that align with students’ characteristics.

Abstract

This research examines the innovation of digital media in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning, focusing on the transformation of educational practices in the digital era. The study aims to explore the role of digital media in enhancing the effectiveness and interactivity of IRE learning, as well as its impact on student engagement and understanding of Islamic teachings. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing case studies conducted in several high schools and universities that have integrated digital media into their IRE curriculum. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, students, and educational administrators, as well as direct observations of digital learning practices. The findings indicate that digital media, such as mobile apps, educational videos, and online platforms, significantly improve students' engagement and understanding of Islamic teachings. However, challenges such as limited digital literacy among educators and students, and insufficient infrastructure in some areas, were identified. This study highlights the potential of digital media to enhance IRE learning while emphasizing the need for further development of digital literacy skills and infrastructure to fully realize its benefits in education.
