The Quba mosque which was constructed by Prophet Mohammed in 622 A.D constitute the best example of the mosque for the members of the Moslem community and for all the next generations. Its design features cover the following : Its construction was based on “Takwa” (devotion) to Allah. Simply, it means it was constructed by using local technology and local building material. There is clarity of function and objective in the plan, and its activities for ibadah (religious) and muamallah (social) function. But after the Prophet Mohammed passed away (633 A.D.), Mosques have been developed in a conventional manner not in accord whit what was exemplified by the prophet when he constructed the Quba mosque any more. Abstract

For PKS, Islamic Law does not only comprise legal-formal laws adopted directly from Islam or absorbed from Islamic values, but also laws non-contradictive to Islam. PKS rests on its ideological construction developed based on the key principles confirming Islam as a complete and perfect concept to deal with all aspects of life. Islam was revealed as guidance for humanity to manage life and living. It is an obligation for every Muslim to establish live order according to the teachings of Islam. Here, Islam is understood as a religion (ad-din), and at the same time a State (ad-daulah), that is, the rules and regulations to manage life in the context of power. From this perspective, PKS pronounce itself as a dakwah (Islamic missionary) party, although, so far, PKS highlights a pragmatic-realistic approach in order to achieve its missionary politics.

Abstract

As we know that higher education institutions (HEIs) have three main mandates—teaching, research, and extension. The first refers to the transmission and transaction of knowledge, skills and competencies to learners so as to equip them for their role in the employment market and society. The second refers to the critical role of advancing knowledge through research in different domains. The third refers to the institution reaching out to the community in which it is located, providing the community with a valuable contribution to social development. Outreach and engagement at the higher-education Institution is that aspect of teaching that enables learning beyond the campus walls. That aspect of research that makes what we discover useful beyond the academic community. That aspect of service that directly benefits the public. When the Islamic discourse comes under discussion, the concept should be applicable to the cultural discourse, the literary discourse, the artistic discourse and the information discourse, though the latter can be of more comprehensive nature and encompass all other levels of discourse, in such a way as to become for example the religious information discourse, the philosophical information discourse, the political information discourse, etc. In terms of using ICT or media, the content, again as mentioned before using all media forms, should seek to promote dialogue, understanding, co- existence and co-operation.
