Abstract

The increase in the population in Poasia District Has an impact on the expansion of development land. This can affect the reduction in water catchment areas. This study aims to examine the use of space in water catchment areas in Poasia District. The parameters used to determine the condition of water absorption in this study, namely soil permeability, rainfall, land use and slope then processed using the Scoring, OBIA, and Overlay methods. The results of this study include the condition of water catchment in 2017 was dominated by the critical starting category of 2.850,34 acre (66,42%) while in 2021 the water catchment condition is dominated by the natural normal category covering an area of 1.920,554 acre (44,75%). Land use in water catchment areas in Poasia District in 2017-2021 which experienced the highest increase in area was settlements covering an area of 53,61 acre (36,51%) from an area of 670,91 Ha to 617,31 Ha, while land use which occurred the highest reduction in forest area of 68,26 Ha (46,50%) from an area of 2.570,05 Ha to 2.501,79 acre. Keywords: Water Infiltration, Space Utilization, GIS, Catchment area

Abstract

The problem of flooding is still a problem that occurs in urban communities. High water intensity during the rainy season results in the potential for flooding in residential areas around the river flow. This study aims to determine flood mitigation in the Wawombalata sub-district, Kendari City. The method used in this research is survey and map overlay. The results showed that: On the flood hazard map, the area that has the highest hazard class is in the RT 5 section. Meanwhile, the flood hazard in the high class covers parts of the RT 1, RT 2, RT 3, RT 4, RT 5, RT 6 and RT 7. Overall the potential for flooding in the Wawombalata sub-district is classified as a high hazard class up to the highest class around residential areas and community housing. Flood mitigation strategies that can be carried out include: Conducting learning about disaster mitigation and outreach as well as disaster emergency simulations, maintaining the functions of vital objects/public facilities. Coordinating disaster management at the District/City level and and the Central Government. Keywords: Mitigation, Hazard, Flood, Community

This study aims to: (1) determine changes in agricultural land use in Batauga District due to the establishment of South Buton Regency; (2) know the impact of changes in agricultural land use on leading commodities. This study uses quantitative descriptive analysis methods and OBIA. The results of this study include: (1) Changes in agricultural land use due to the formation of South Buton Regency have changed from 3,119.26 acre previously to 2,971.64 acre in 2021; (2) Impact of changes in the use of agricultural land on superior commodities, namely commodities before formation become a base then become non-base after the formation of South Buton Regency and vice versa.. Keywords:  Land Use Change, Agriculture, Leading Commodity

Abstract

Shoreline monitoring and its changes can be carried out with remote sensing technology using satellite imagery. The use of satellite imagery data to monitor shoreline changes has several advantages, namely being able to monitor a wide area coverage in a relatively short time. The research aims to: (1) Analyze the shoreline changes that occurred in East Mawasangka District 2009-2021; (2) Identify the factors that cause shoreline changes. The data used in this research are Landsat 7 and 8 imagery, analyzed using the DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) method. The results of this study are: (1) In 2009-2021 there are 4 areas that experienced shoreline changes. The abrasive area with the biggest change is in Area 2 with a change of 150.04 m and the smallest change is in Area 4 with a change of 0.03 m. While the accreted area occurs in Area 2 with a total change of 225.19 m, Area 4 with a change of 0.01 m: (2) Factors influencing changes in the coastline, both sediment buildup, influence of currents, and height wave.

Abstract

Growth rapid population causing volumes of daily waste in Kendari City to increases, reasons that need Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS) need to be noticed. Image data is used to obtain information on land use in determining TPS land physique suitability. This study was conducted in the District of Wua-wua because it owns the most densely populated settlement in Kendari City. This study aims to : (1) Determine Temporary TPS land physique suitability using Sentinel imagery and Google Earth Images; and (2) Determine a new location for Temporary TPS. The sample was determined based on houses, including house size 10 houses, 40 houses, and big houses size 50 houses. Parameters used in determining suitability physique TPS land is the distance from settlement, road, and river. Data was analyzed using the Normalized Difference Built-Up Index (NDBI) to obtain index density buildings and overlays for suitability physique land and quantity Temporary TPS needs. Research results namely : (1) There are three suitable Temporary TPS land that is No in accordance covering an area of 486 ha, enough suit 308 ha and very corresponds to 107 ha; (2) Need for TPS in the District Wua-wua that is 55 units and spread throughout Subdistrict Wua-Wua Kendari City.

Abstract

Sand mining in Kamelanta Village has been operating since 2008 and has an impact i the surrounding community. This research aims to: (1) find out the distribution of sand mining locations in Kamelanta village; and (2) determine the impact of sand mining on the socio-economic community. Data on the distribution of sand mining was obtained from field observations and data on the impact of sand mining was from interviews with 56 family cards. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The results of this study include: (1) In 2008 there was only one sand mining location which was carried out in the traditional way using a shovel at low tide. Since 2018 mining activities have used suction machines and in 2023 there will be 39 sand mining locations spread along the coastline; (2) Sand mining in Kamelanta Village has positive and negative impacts. The positive impact is an increase in the economy with increased livelihoods and increased people's income. The negative impact is the damage to the seaweed cultivation location (especially Tobea Hamlet), so the seaweed farmers must do other work.

Abstract

The development of the Wawoangi Tourism Area in South Buton Regency aims to determine its potential and development strategy by improving quality and quantity of facilities and infrastructure. Data was collected by interviewing tourists. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative method and SWOT analysis. The results of the study show that: social potential i.e. inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and community participation that is still lacking in maintaining the cleanliness of tourist attractions. The results of the SWOT analysis are 2 main factors, namely internal factors including strengths such as beautiful natural panoramas, close to the city, good accesibility, availability of large land and weaknesses such as inadequate facilities, poor environmental cleanliness, lack of professional workforce in the management of tourist objects. External factors include opportunities, namely the government's desire to develop the Wawoangi tourism area, and threats namely environmental damage, increasing population. Based on its potential, the development of the Wawoangi tourist area is more directed at the development of facilities and infrastructure such as villas, bathrooms, stalls, trash cans, prayer rooms, and parking lots.
