Abstract

Education at Pondok Pesantren Al Kautsar Al Akbar, Medan, faces challenges in encouraging the interest and enthusiasm of male students in studying Hadith. This phenomenon is influenced by factors such as a lack of creativity in teaching methods, the application of harsh disciplinary measures, and a curriculum perceived as monotonous. This study aims to identify the persuasive communication strategies implemented by Ustadz Ali Sati to enhance the learning motivation of male students. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through documentation, interviews, and observation. The findings reveal that Ustadz Ali Sati employs three main persuasive communication strategies: a personal approach to less motivated students, delivering content creatively and interactively, and using language that is easy to understand. These findings demonstrate that effective communication strategies can significantly enhance students' motivation to learn, providing valuable contributions to the development of teaching methods in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Local traditions are a form of cultural wisdom that still lives in rural communities in Indonesia, one of which is the Lamporan tradition in Soneyan Village, Margoyoso District, Pati Regency, Central Java. This tradition is carried out every Friday in the month of Suro and is believed to be a form of protection from disturbances by spirits. This study aims to identify the symbolic meaning, social function, and role of the Lamporan tradition in the lives of modern society. The method used is a qualitative approach with participatory observation techniques and in-depth interviews with community leaders and tradition practitioners. The results of the study show that Lamporan not only functions as a spiritual effort to ward off disaster, but also strengthens social solidarity, maintains cultural identity, and becomes a medium for transmitting ancestral values to the younger generation. In the midst of modernization, this tradition continues to exist because of the active role of the community in preserving cultural heritage. This study contributes to the understanding of the preservation of local traditions in facing contemporary social dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social campaign strategy implemented by the West Jakarta Department of Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (DPPAPP) in increasing women's awareness of the dangers of online gambling. Online gambling is a rapidly growing phenomenon in Indonesia and has significant negative impacts on women, such as financial, psychological, and social pressures. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, relying on primary data from in-depth interviews and observations, as well as secondary data from documentation of campaign activities. The results of the study show that the DPPAPP campaign focuses on digital literacy education, financial literacy, and women's economic empowerment. This campaign has proven effective in increasing participants' understanding of the risks of online gambling. However, obstacles were found such as limited access to information for vulnerable women. The study concludes that collaboration between the government and civil society is essential to expand the reach of the campaign and ensure that women have adequate knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their families from the negative impacts of online gambling.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of parents’ income and parents’ educational level on students’ learning interest at STKIP PGRI Sukabumi. Learning interest is considered an important factor in supporting students’ academic success, and family socioeconomic background is assumed to play a significant role in shaping students’ motivation and attitudes toward learning. This research employed a quantitative research approach with a correlational design. The population of the study consisted of students at STKIP PGRI Sukabumi, from which 100 students were selected as respondents using a sampling technique appropriate to the research objectives. Three main variables were examined in this study, namely parents’ income, parents’ education level, and students’ learning interest. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that was developed based on relevant theoretical concepts. Prior to data analysis, the research instruments were tested for validity and reliability to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the measurement. The collected data were then analyzed using simple linear regression analysis to determine the effect of parents’ income and parents’ educational level on students’ learning interest. The results of the analysis indicate that parents’ income has a significant influence on students’ learning interest. In addition, parents’ educational level also shows a significant effect on students’ interest in learning. These findings suggest that students from families with higher income and higher parental education levels tend to have stronger learning interest. Therefore, it can be concluded that parents’ socioeconomic background plays an important role in influencing students’ learning interest. The results of this study are expected to provide useful insights for educational institutions and policymakers in developing strategies to enhance students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of everyday life, allowing users to share information, shape public opinion, and build social narratives. Instagram, as one of the popular platforms in Indonesia, plays a significant role in gender discourse. This study analyzes how the Instagram account @indonesiafeminis constructs gender narratives and audience responses to the issues raised, such as women's empowerment, gender equality. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis, this study explores the account's communication strategies, including the use of infographics, personal narratives, and interactive dialogues. The results show that @indonesiafeminis has succeeded in building inclusive opinions by utilizing Instagram's features to convey strong and inclusive messages. The account also functions as a gender education space, although its success is highly dependent on the delivery of culturally relevant messages. Thus, this study highlights the potential of social media as an inclusive dialogue space that drives social change. However, a more adaptive approach is needed to bridge differences in views and improve gender literacy in society. This study makes an important contribution to understanding the dynamics of gender conversations on Indonesian social media and suggests more effective advocacy strategies.

Abstract

Social care is a crucial dimension in the development of the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) and is a focus for strengthening character education at the junior high school level. This study aims to analyze the influence of the P5 Project, school culture, and parental care practices on the social care character of ninth-grade students at SMPN 8 Blitar. The quantitative approach used was a survey method, and data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS software. The study sample consisted of 156 students selected using proportional stratified random sampling from a total population of 256 students. The results showed that the P5 Project and parental care practices had a positive and significant effect on students' social care character (p < 0.05). Conversely, school culture did not show a significant effect (p > 0.05). The structural model was found to be in good agreement with the SRMR value of 0.070 and NFI of 0.835. These findings emphasize the importance of synergy between the P5 program, the role of families through democratic parenting, and school culture in developing a socially responsible character. The study concludes that strengthening students' socially responsible character requires a collaborative approach between schools, families, and national policies based on Pancasila values. This study recommends increased parental involvement and school consistency in internalizing social values through project-based learning.
