Abstract

Researchers have emphasized that SMEs are often the enterprises most affected by economic crises. Therefore, a socioeconomic crisis related to people’s health such as the COVID-19 pandemic can be expected to have dire effects on SMEs because these businesses require strong connections with people, whether they are customers or suppliers. To protect this vital sector from collapse due to the COVID-19 crisis, many governmental and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) have provided various forms of support to SMEs. Governments have adopted several policies that will mitigate the negative effects of this crisis. SMEs have received some financial support from local and international NGOs and financial institutions during the COVID-19 crisis. Additionally, SME owners have adopted a number of practices and strategies to confront the ramifications of the crisis. Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic situation affects the social and psychological conditions of the community, including university students. One of the pressures felt by students is psychological pressure due to decreased ability to pay tuition fees. The government's policy to ease the university students' financial burden is regulated by the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) No. 25 of 2020 concerning Standards of Higher Education Operational Cost Units. This study aims to determine the effect of financial assistance on students' mental health and determine the differences in mental health conditions of students who get access to financial assistance with students who do not get access to financial assistance. Quasi-experimental testing with the Difference in Difference (DiD) regression method found that students who gained financial assistance experienced a significant decrease in average psychological distress. Students who get access to financial assistance in installment schemes or deductions experience a significant average psychological pressure decrease. Therefore, access to financial assistance for college students can improve the quality of students' mental health so that financial assistance can be one solution in maintaining people's mental health when there is a shock in the economy.

The method used is quantitative. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling and the sample obtained in this study amounted to 57 respondents. Data analysis used validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, regression analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, coefficient of determination analysis and hypothesis testing. The result of this study is that work conflict has a significant effect on employee performance with the regression equation Y = 55,469 + -0.657X1, the correlation value is -0.746, meaning that the two variables have a strong relationship. The value of the coefficient of determination is 55.6%. Hypothesis test obtained t count > t table or (7.305 > 2.002). Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of work conflict on employee performance. Work stress has a significant effect on employee performance with the regression equation Y = 51.997 + -0.561X2, the correlation value is -0.689, meaning that the two variables have a strong relationship. The value of the coefficient of determination is 47.5%. Hypothesis test obtained t arithmetic > t table or (7.957 > 2.002). Thus, H0 is rejected and H2 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant effect of work stress on employee performance. Work conflict and work stress have a significant effect on employee performance with the regression equation Y = 55.596 + -0.557X1 + -0.104X2. The correlation value is 0.748, meaning that the independent variable and the dependent variable have a strong relationship. The value of the coefficient of determination is 55.9% while the remaining 44.1% is influenced by other factors. Hypothesis test obtained value of F arithmetic > F table or (34.265 > 2.780). Thus, H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted. This means that there is a simultaneous significant effect of work conflict and work stress on employee performance.
