Abstract

Zakat is a key instrument with a strategic role in wealth distribution and poverty alleviation. The effectiveness of zakat distribution in achieving these goals still requires in-depth analysis within the context of economic and social welfare. This study aims to analyze the distribution mechanism, identify changes in welfare levels, and evaluate zakat distribution towards improving welfare. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative data. Data were obtained through interviews, field observations, and documentation. Analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with welfare indicators covering economic (income and employment), social (education and health), and spiritual (active worship and independence). The results show that LAZISWAF Khairul Ummah implements two forms of zakat distribution: consumptive zakat to meet basic needs and productive zakat in the form of business capital assistance. Zakat distribution has been proven to have a positive impact on improving the welfare of the poor, indicated by increased income, access to education, and social participation. However, long-term effectiveness still needs to be improved through mentoring programs and ongoing monitoring.

Abstract

The welfare of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) significantly influences their performance, making the formation of cooperatives a vital economic empowerment strategy. This study aims to analyze the potential, challenges, and strategies for developing effective and sustainable ASN cooperatives. The research method used a qualitative descriptive survey, through primary data collection by distributing questionnaires to 387 ASN out of a total of 12,022 using the Slovin formula with a sampling error of 5%. The results showed that 88% of respondents fully supported the diversification of cooperative services. The most popular service was savings and loans (35.7%). However, there are three crucial challenges: (1) low awareness of the role of cooperatives; (2) Weak governance and management (including financial transparency); and (3) lack of inspirational figures. ASN cooperatives in Kutai Kartanegara have high potential for development, especially the savings and loans model. For sustainability, a professional and participatory strategy is needed, including the implementation of web-based technology for management transparency and strengthening member education. It is recommended that a Regent's regulation be issued to systematically regulate the management and supervision of ASN, in order to improve welfare and strengthen the local economy.

Abstract

The development of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia is showing rapid growth, along with increasing public interest in investments that comply with Sharia principles. Generation Z, as a technologically savvy, productive age group that dominates the number of digital financial platform users, has great potential as new investors. This study aims to analyze Generation Z's preferences for investment instruments in the Islamic capital market, namely Islamic stocks, sukuk, and Islamic mutual funds. Using a descriptive qualitative research approach with semi-structured interviews, this study involved 10 active investor informants from Generation Z. The results show that Islamic mutual funds are the primary choice due to their ease of access and minimal risk, while Islamic stocks are chosen by those with more advanced knowledge. Islamic sukuk are preferred by investors seeking stable returns. This study contributes to the development of literacy strategies and innovations in Islamic financial products that are friendly to the younger generation. The limitations in the number of informants and the research area open opportunities for broader follow-up studies. Overall, this study shows that Generation Z's investment preferences in the Islamic capital market are influenced by a combination of factors such as ease of access, risk level, investment knowledge, and aspects of religiosity and digital literacy.

Abstract

Cicil Emas is an Islamic investment product that facilitates gold ownership through an installment system based on the murabahah contract. This study aims to analyze the marketing strategy of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) for the Cicil Emas product and to examine its influence on customer interest in Pekanbaru City. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis involving informants from the bank's internal divisions (marketing and financing) as well as customer users and non-users of the product. The findings indicate that BSI's marketing strategy encompasses digital education, social media promotion, community-based outreach, and collaboration with religious figures. Factors influencing customer interest include the perceived value of gold investment, payment flexibility, transparency of the sharia contract, and social influence. This strategy is assessed as moderately effective in enhancing customer understanding and interest, despite obstacles such as the low level of Islamic financial literacy among some community segments. In conclusion, BSI's marketing strategy aligns with sharia principles and contributes to building public trust in the Cicil Emas product.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Islamic Human Development Index (I-HDI) and economic growth on income inequality in Indonesia during the 2019-2023 period. The research employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from 34 provinces in Indonesia, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and other official sources. The analysis method applied is panel data regression, with the best model selected through the Chow and Hausman tests, which confirmed the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) as the most appropriate estimation model. The results show that partially, I-HDI has no effect on income inequality, while economic growth has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, I-HDI and economic growth have a significant effect on income inequality, with a contribution of 57.1%, while the remaining 42.9% is explained by other factors outside the model. These findings emphasize that inclusive economic growth plays an important role in reducing inequality, while improving human development quality based on maqaşid al-shari'ah requires more equitable distribution to optimally reduce income disparity.

Abstract

Multidimensional poverty refers to a condition in which individuals or households are unable to meet their essential needs, encompassing the dimensions of education, health, and a decent standard of living. Islamic economics emphasizes the principles of social justice, equitable wealth distribution, and social responsibility as strategic efforts to alleviate poverty. From an Islamic perspective, poverty is not merely an economic issue but also a social and moral problem that can disrupt the balance of societal life. This study aims to examine the influence of the Human Development Index, the open unemployment rate, and per capita income on multidimensional poverty in Indonesia within the framework of Islamic economic principles. The research employs a quantitative method using the VECM approach by analyzing 34 provinces in Indonesia. The results indicate that the fixed effect model is the most appropriate model, showing that the t-test results reveal a negative and significant effect of the Human Development Index and per capita income on multidimensional poverty, while the open unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on multidimensional poverty in Indonesia.
