Abstract

Industrial workplace accidents are accidents that occur in the workplace, especially in industrial environments, where there is no element of intent or sabotage elements in it. Hazard is the activity, objects, components that are considered to cause damage or disruption of the process / activity therein to accidents. WL ALUMUNIUM as SMEs need sustainability production which can not be achieved in case of work accidents or worker safety is not assured due to the existing hazard. Therefore, this research wanted to determine the types of hazards that occur in these SMEs and risk analysis of existing hazard. Hazard Identification (HAZID) is a process of identifying hazards as a first step of determining the risk analysis. There are two main objectives in the hazard identification to obtain a list of hazard and the order based on the level of risk as well as to obtain a qualitative assessment of hazards and ways to reduce the hazard risk level. Based on the processing and analysis that has been done can be seen these SMEs have a hazard which are in the category of Low, Moderate, High and Unacceptable.

Abstract

We propose a simple calculation to obtain the gravitational lensing on rotating stars. The calculation has been made by using a Lagrangian of Kerr metric and getting  for deflection angle. The calculation has been reduced to slow-rotating stars and equatorials case ()  for maximum deflection angle.

Abstract

Adanya persaingan antar perusahaan menyebabkan perusahaan harus mampu meningkatkan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan dan menjaga agar proses produksinya tetap berjalan dengan lancar sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan pelanggannya. Untuk dapat memenuhi permintaan pelanggan dan memperlancar kegiatan proses produksi, maka perusahaan perlu menetapkan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku agar bahan baku tetap terjaga ketersediaannya. Salah satu teknik yang digunakan dalam melakukan pengendalian persediaan bahan baku adalah dengan menggunakan metode EOQ (Economic Order Quantity). PT. Adi Satria Abadi merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri penyamakan kulit yang menghasilkan produk Sheep Cabretta Leather dan Sheep Batting Leather. Setelah dilakukan perhitungan, diperoleh bahwa jumlah bahan baku minimal (safety stock) selama proses pemesanan dilakukan untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Cabretta Leather sebesar 4.545,30 sf, sedangkan untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Batting Leather sebesar 794,24 sf. Untuk menjaga agar proses produksi tetap berlangsung dan tidak terjadi stock out, maka perusahaan harus melakukan pemesanan kembali untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Cabretta Leather pada saat stok di gudang tersisa 13.454,09 sf, sedangkan untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Batting Leather baru dilakukan pemesanan kembali saat stok digudang tersisa 2.350,94 sf. Dari pengolahan data yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai total biaya persediaan untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Cabretta Leather sebesar Rp. 344.477.987,00 per tahun, dan nilai total biaya persediaan untuk kulit domba jenis Sheep Batting Leather sebesar Rp. 143.997.462,00 per tahun.

Abstract

An experimental study on the boiling phenomena and bubble dynamics from the porous graphite foams of different thermophysical properties with FC-72 dielectric coolant under saturated pool boiling condition is presented in this paper.  The pool boiling process from different graphite foams viz. “Pocofoam” of 61%, “Pocofoam” of 75%, “Kfoam” of 78% and “Kfoam” of 72% porosities were captured by using a high speed camera at 2005 frames per second and analyzed by using “Image Pro” image processing software. The bubble departure diameter and frequency from the porous foams are presented and discussed in this study. The results show that “Pocofoam” of 61% porosity has produced the smallest bubble departure diameter and highest bubble departure frequency as compared to other porous foams. It was found that the average bubble departure diameter and bubble frequency of “Pocofoam” of 61% porosity is 480.8 µm and 173 Hz, respectively.  The experimental results have also shown that the thermal properties of the porous graphite foam affected the bubble departure diameter and frequency.

Abstract

The quality of an electrical connection engine shaft which is not straight and not exactly center can damage the engine crankshaft and the rotated engine. The Power used will be enlarged and the temperature of the equipment will increase. Increasing temperatures will shorten the life of the equipment. Previously, to test the quality of the connection shaft, we use a waterpas. Disadvantage of this method is a waterpas, only measures the flatness of the field in one or two areas only. Watpasdroid application developed as a quality improvement solution for shaft connection which is cheaper and easier. With this app, android phones can be used to measure how much the value of the tilt on the axis x, y and z. The value-added applications are high level of accuracy and simplicity. Without the need to add another device, the Android phone quite put on the field to be measured. Watpasdroid already used in Electric Drive laboratory in Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (PENS), to check the connections of the engine shaft on motor loading test. Application developed using Basic4Android program (B4A), which uses the Basic programming language, which is easier than the other developer programs based on Java.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kinerja pengelolaan dan pelayanan praktikum pada Laboratorium Teknik Perancangan Sistem Kerja di Politeknik ATI Makassar. Laboratorium Teknik Perancangan Sistem Kerja (TPSK) merupakan sarana dan prasarana pendukung proses belajar mengajar, baik yang bersifat rutinitas kegiatan praktikum maupun eksidental berupa suatu tempat yang digunakan untuk percobaan dan pengamatan yang berhubungan dengan bidang ilmu teknik industri. Metode pengumpulan data adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan studi kepustakaan. Sumber data dari hasil observasi, kuisioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Skala Likert dipadukan dengan aplikasi SwanStat digunakan untuk pengolahan data hasil kuisioner. Penilaian peneliti melalui observasi, hasil pengolahan data kuisioner menggunakan skala likert dan hasil wawancara kepala laboratorium, dosen, asisten laboratorium dan mahasiswa. Wawancara dilakukan kepada mahasiswa, tenaga asisten, dosen, dan kepala laboratorium. Hasil kuisioner diperoleh dari 83 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan teknik stratified sampling dengan jumlah total mahasiswa 157 orang. Hasil uji validitas setiap pertanyaan dinyatakan valid melalui olah data SwanStat dan hasil uji reliabilitas diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,8447 jika dipresentasikan data reliabel 84,47%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan kegiatan praktikum  86,60% (sangat baik), Pelaksanaan praktikum 81,54 % (sangat baik) dan evaluasi kegiatan praktikum 76,13 % (baik). Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa pengelolaan dan pelayanan kegiatan praktikum berjalan baik dan disiplin.

Abstract

The prototype of a permanent magnet generator using eight double stator coils has been successfully constructed.  This paper focuses on the prove of the double coil existences and the effect iron core addition to the coil in increasing the output potentials.  The equipment resulted in this work is expected to be able to enrich the experiment of electricity and magnetism in the Physics study program at the undergraduate level. The results show that the addition of iron core on the coil causes an increase in output potential, i.e., from 2.5 Volts without iron core to 8.3 Volts with the iron core.  Further, the tests by combining the four coils also resulted in an increase of output potentials from 10 Volts to 30 volts, in the case of without and with iron cores. Furthermore, the incorporation of eight coils in the front and rear double stator also increase the output voltage from 20 Volts without iron cores to 61.3 Volts with iron cores.

Abstract

Waduk Saguling selain berfungsi sebagai pembangkit listrik, digunakan juga untuk budidaya perikanan. Kegiatan tersebut menyebabkan peningkatan kandungan materi organik dan anorganik di badan perairan. Hal tersebut akan direspon oleh kehadiran fitoplankton. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2011 – Februari 2012 pada lokasi inlet (In) dan outlet (out) di Waduk Saguling. Dari hasil penelitian secara kseluruhan ditemukan 31 spesies dan terbagi kedalam empat fungsional group, yaitu alga koloni, alga uniseluler, alga filamentik, dan diatom pennate. Populasi fitoplankton yang dominan di kedua lokasi kajian adalah Stanierasp., Synedra sp. dan S. Ulna.Ketiga spesies tersebut dapat hadir pada kedalaman 5 dan 10 karena dipengaruhi oleh tingginya kandungan kandungan ammonium (In: 0,65 mg/l; Out: 0,74 mg/l) dan nitrit (In: 0,46 mg/l; Out: 0,58 mg/l).

Abstract

Design research of upright darkfield microscope to produce visual micrography of Daphnia magna in laboratory engineering practicum carried out at the Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UINSunan Kalijaga. The purpose of this study is to document Daphnia magna using the darkfield observation method. The darkfield method is obtained by making a darkfield condenser ring on an upright brightfield microscope which in its application can change the observation method on a microscope from brightfield to darkfield. The results of this study are in the form of Daphnia magna with the darkfield and brightfield method which this method can be applied in laboratory engineering labs.

Abstract

Workload can be defined as difference between the capacity or ability and the amount of work in specified periods. This research at PT. X in the printing and lathe jobs which exposed to environmental factors to identify and evaluate the workload of employees on the job of printing and lathe based on the pulse and the optimal rest time. The method of this research is physiological approach using measurement data of pulse and physical data of respondent to calculate %CVL, energy consumption level, and optimal rest time. The results obtained that workload significant  with  work environment factors(independent t test) with %CVL 33.67%  for lathe and for %CVL 21.21% for printing unit. Based on paired T test the significant , working pulse significantly difference with resting pulse with 35.60 beats/ min working pulse for lathe  and 23.95 beats/min for printing. Optimal rest time through calculation of energy consumption is 217.79 minutes for lathe unit and 98.69 minutes for printing unit.
