Abstract

This research discusses the effectiveness of the modified palm oil loose fruit collecting tool at the productive plant. This research was conducted in community oil palm plantations in Desa Lubuk Bento Village, Kecamatan Pondok Suguh, Kabupaten Mukomuko, Provinsi Bengkulu, from 2020, 26th May to 2020, 30th July. The research purpose was to obtain alternative palm oil loose fruit collecting tool at the productive plant, as well as to determine the effect the use of modified palm oil loose fruit collecting tool to the effectiveness and efficiency of palm oil loose fruit collecting activities. The research method used is a functional design in terms of function or usefulness of the modified collecting tool. This research consist of two stages, ie: 1) literature study and tool design; and 2) the process of assembling and testing the tool. The parameters observed were the palm oil loose fruit collecting time, as well as the number and quality of palm oil loose fruit collected. The result showed that the use of modified palm oil loose fruit collecting tool could increase work performance from 0.21 WD/ha to 0.13 WD/ha.

Abstract

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is a concept or action taken by the company as a sense of corporate responsibility towards the social and environmental surroundings of the company. PT Manakarra Unggul Lestari is an oil palm company that has a responsibility to improve the welfare of the community around the plantation in various aspects. This study aims to determine the implementation of CSR programs in oil palm plantation companies and analyze priority CSR programs for communities around oil palm plantations. The method used in this research is a direct survey to the field and structured interviews with key persons. The field survey was conducted to see the condition of the community and the results of the implementation of the CSR program. Structured interviews were conducted with key persons, namely parties in the community who are considered to have knowledge and know in detail about the implementation of CSR programs. The results show that the implementation of PT Manakarra Unggul Lestari's CSR program has been well implemented in the fields of education, and infrastructure, while the health and socio-economic sectors are still considered lacking. There are several CSR programs that are not evenly distributed to all areas of the community, so further socialization is needed.

Abstract

Maturity level is a very important parameter of palm fruit bunch quality. There are two levels of maturity that are often used, ie unripe ripe, which are determined based on the number of loose fruit or the color of fruit. This method has several drawbacks, such as the quantity of oil that will decrease if many fruits fall from the bunch and the subjective assessment of fruit color. This research will discuss about making an application for scanning the maturity level of palm fruit bunches using the Oriented fast and Rotated Brief (ORB) method which is able to recognize the image contained in palm fruit bunches based on keypoint features. Matching will be done using the template matching method, so that it can find similarities between the images on palm fruit bunches. The result show that the scanner application can recognize every image being tested, but the success rate is only 50%, so this application cannot be fully implemented in the field to replace the method used so far. Thus, this research still needs further development.

Abstract

The carbon content of oil palm shells has the potential to be used as an energy source, namely as fuel briquettes. This study discusses the effect of using arpus adhesive with a composition of 17.5% and 20% on the quality of briquettes. Parameters observed were moisture content, burning time, calorific value when wet and dry, ash content when wet and dry, carbon content when wet and dry, and volatile matter content when wet and dry. The results showed that the use of arpus adhesive with a composition of 17.5% and 20% affected the quality of briquettes from oil palm shells. The best composition is 17.5% which shows better results on all briquette quality parameters.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has spread to all corners of the world including Indonesia, so the Indonesian government is trying to prevent and reduce its spread by restricting community activities known as Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). These restrictions will directly affect the economic cycle and industrial activities, so that the problem faced in the industrial world is the disruption of the supply of goods due to the company's limited operating hours. The same thing is also faced by automotive companies during this PPKM period, where being able to produce depends on the readiness of their suppliers. The purpose of this study was to determine the readiness of automotive companies (suppliers) in this PPKM period. The research was conducted by sending a questionnaire to 138 automotive supply companies regarding the readiness to supply components during the PPKM period. The results of this study indicate that most of the suppliers (97.1%) stated their ability to supply components and a small part (1.45%) said they were unable and some 1.45% did not give an answer. Most of the companies that provide delivery capability (93.48%) state that they are able to fulfill 80.01% to 100% of the production forecast. This means, not all suppliers can meet the producer's demand 100%, so producers must reconsider their production plans according to the ability and conditions of their suppliers.

Abstract

Tissue culture succes is affected by medium composition. Murashige and Skoog (MS) basic medium composition is a medium tissue culture made from pure chemical substances which relatively expensive. Complete fertilizer commonly used as a replacement for MS basic medium is a complete fertilizer, which is relatively inexpensive and practical. Besides use suitable of basic medium composition, the addition of certain organic compound can also increase growth, development and resistance to disease of plant, such as chitosan. The research aims were to study the effect of complete fertilizer and chitosan on growth of PLBs and planlet Phalaenopsis Orchid Hybrids. The results showed that the basic medium composition complete fertilizer (N: P: K = 20:20:20) (2 g L-1) can be used as an alternative basal medium, because it can be increased the number of leaves , PLBs and plantlets higher than MS1/2 medium. Chitosan 5 ppm could not increased PLBs clump growth.

Abstract

The daily report is a form of data display as evidence of the implementation of daily work. The daily process report is a report that contains the daily operations of the factory, and the daily production report is a report that contains data on the daily production results of the factory. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of the daily process report and production daily report, to find out the parts of the daily production report, to find out the contents of the daily process report and to know how to fill in the daily production report. The data needed is daily laboratory data, weighbridge station and sorting, production process department and data on CPO and Kernel sounding results. The results show that the daily production report contains various information related to the production achievements of a palm oil mill.

Abstract

Pengerjaan beberapa order pada sistem job shop dikerjakan dalam satu waktu. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya penjadwalan yang baik dan terencana. Metode yang dapat digunakan adalah network analysis yang pada umumnya digunakan untuk penjadwalan proyek pada penelitian ini akan digunakan untuk penjadwalan job shop. Dengan menggambarkan kegiatan dengan urutan yang logis, mengidentifikasikan kegiatan kritis, membandingkan pekerjaan yang di kerjakan secara seri, paralel ataupun overlapping sehingga dapat mengetahui perbandingannya dan dapat mengetahui sistem mana yang paling efektif dan efesien. Objek penelitian yang digunakan adalah fibre cylone, LTDS 1 coloum dan LTDS 2 column,. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan sistem paralel membutuhkan waktu penyelesaian selama 19 hari, tetapi lebih banyak membutuhkan sumber daya. Sistem seri membutuhkan waktu 60 hari, tetapi sumber daya yang dibutuhkan tidak sebanyak sistem paralel. Sedangkan sistem overlapping membutuhkan waktu 43 hari, dan sumber daya yang digunakan sama dengan sistem seri.

Abstract

Plant growth can be increased with balanced fertilization. Various types of fertilizers can be used to increase the availability of nutrients in the soil such as manure and biological fertilizers. This research aims to determine the effects and best dose of combined with cow dung compost on the growth and nutrient content of mature oil palm. This research was conducted at Teaching Farm of Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Bekasi from December 2019 to July 2020. The research used descriptive method with 3 treatments: 50 kg cow dung, 50 kg cow dung + 500 gr fungi michoriza, and 50 kg cow dung + 1000 gr fungi michoriza. The result showed that the results of measurements of all growth parameters and nutrient levels of N, P, and K showed an increase before and after being given fungi michoriza arbuscula and cow dung compost and the best dose of fungi michoriza arbuscula for the growth of palm oil yields was 1000 g mycorrhizal.

Abstract

Imperata cylindrica contains allelochemical compounds that could be used as natural active inggredients to control weeds, especially the rhizome. Bioherbicide pre-emergence was expected to be able controlling weeds from germination so that the population of weeds will be reduced later. The objectives of this experiment were to obtain the alternative material for pre-emergence bioherbicide, to know the effectivity of pre-emergence Imperata cylindrica to growth, height and biomass of weeds, and also identify the dominant weeds in treatment area. This research conducted at Teaching Farm Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi Bekasi, from Januari until Juli 2021. This research was arranged in a factorial random block design with three replications and five treatments. The treatments are P0 (Control), P1 (Herbisida 1%), P2 (Bioherbicide 5%), P3 (Bioherbicide 10%), P4 (Bioherbicide 15%). Each of treatments repeated three times, so that there were 15 experimental unit. The data was analysis of variance. If the analysis variance test result was significant at 5%, then it continued by Least Significance Different Test (LSD Test). The result showed Imperata cylindrica could be as alternative material for pre-emergence bioherbicide and significantly affected to weed’s growth in 1 until 2 weeks after application (WAP), and heigt’s weed in 3 WAP. The lowest weed’s growth showed in control and not significantly different with all treatments. The weed dominance it showed in area is Axonopus compressus. The allelochemical compound contained in pre-emergence bioherbicide Imperata cylindrica are flavonoids 0,097% and tanin 0,105%.
