Abstract

Nigeria adopted TVET programs in her education strategy to educate and train qualified workers and develop middle-level personnel who will be self-sufficient to grow the economy and national stability. Nigeria's economy and national cohesion are threatened by various concerns. The country's problems include high unemployment, deep poverty, and increased insecurity. Nigeria's TVET program must be redesigned to develop 21st-century workers to stabilize and build the economy to avoid these challenges. This study aimed at redesigning TVET for sustainable economic development through the provision of skilled and competent work force for industries and for self-reliant. The study took a review method where secondary data were uncovered through reviewing of variety of literatures, newspapers, National reports, policy documents, national data etc. A possible explanation for the country's part of continued economic instability and low levels of productivity, unstable GDP growth, and high rate of unemployment can be traced to poor quality of TVET. Findings from the review of empirical literature discovered lack of employable skills, inadequate technical skills, and the incapacity of TVET graduates to compete in the global workplace. All these findings necessitated the redesigning of TVET in the following regards: updating the curriculum, TVET institutions partnership with industries, adopting a new model of programme operation, adequate funding and teachers’ training. Recommendations such as government in collaboration with private sectors and Multinational companies to invest more in human capital through education, mainly TVET, remains the key to sustainable economic development in Nigeria.

Articles are found via publish or perish software and the Google Scholar database. Scanning by scimagojr.com (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4), we analyzed 42 articles from 26 leading journals from January 1, 2010 to June  30, 2022. Mendeley software is used to manage and resume references. We have reviewed this database and tried to classify articles using the VOSviewer software. Three groups were reviewed; The words that appear most often in each group are ‘vocational education’, ‘apprentices’, teaching’, ‘e-learning’, professioanl competence’, dan ‘competence based education’ This cluster represents the flow of teacher digital competence (TDC) research.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a concept aimed at addressing the negative impacts of the tourism industry on the environment, society, and culture. In this context, research on the identification of competencies for green jobs in the field of tourism is crucial for the development of a responsible and sustainable tourism industry. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between green competencies and green jobs, and to identify the competencies required for green jobs in the tourism sector. This research adopts the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA guidelines. A total of 520 articles were collected from Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect, and after applying the predetermined criteria, 58 relevant articles were included for analysis. The findings of the study indicate that TVET plays a vital role in preparing the workforce for the transition towards sustainable tourism and there is a link between green competencies and green jobs in the tourism sector as seen from the fact that there is an increasing demand for green workers who must master green competencies, the implication is that it is important to implement green competency-based learning on TVET and this all needs support from the government, the tourism industry sector and the community.

Abstract

The important to remember that technological progress is unpredictable, and the landscape of immersive and interactive systems may have seen significant progress. Developers and innovators are constantly exploring and experimenting with new possibilities, making the future of immersive technology exciting and full of potential as a means to improve education. The research seems to adopt a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both qualitative methods for needs analysis and design stages, and quantitative methods for testing the product's effectiveness. By involving both teachers and students in the development process, the application can better meet their specific needs and preferences. The validation data collected from the assessment by validators suggests that the application has been well-received and is considered valid for use in food service learning. With an average percentage of 85.25% in the valid category, it implies that the application meets the required standards and requirements for an effective learning tool. Overall, the Android-based learning media application holds the potential to contribute significantly to the field of education, particularly in cooking learning. As technology continues to advance, similar applications tailored to other industries and fields of study can also play a crucial role in addressing the increasing demand for skilled human resources in various industries.

Abstract

Sand mining in the area around Sumber Ringin Village, Sri Gading Village, Jati Dukuh Village and around the coast of the Rantas River is a blessing for the people around Mojokerto City and Regency. Mining activities in this area cannot be separated from the attention of many parties and the community, so researchers want to know how much silt content is in the sand and apply it to the basic competencies of concrete specifications and characteristics. This study aims to determine the knowledge, abilities and learning motivation of students in carrying out the practice of silt content in sand on the learning outcomes of basic competency specifications and characteristics of concrete. including research ex post facto. The research design used path analysis. The prerequisite test used is the homogeneity of the F test and the normality test of the Chi Square distribution. Instrument validation was analyzed using the Rasch Model. The research was conducted in class X Modeling Design and Building Information (DPIB)  for State Vocational High School (SMK) 1 Mojokerto with a total of 100 students. The results of the research: (1) there is an effect of knowledge on learning outcomes, (2) there is an effect of ability on learning outcomes, (3) there is an effect of knowledge on student learning motivation, (4) there is an influence of ability on student learning motivation, (5) there is an effect of student learning motivation on learning outcomes, (6) there is an influence of knowledge on learning outcomes through learning motivation, (7) there is an effect of ability on learning outcomes through learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Android-based cooling system maintenance learning media using Smart Apps Creator, determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the media, and determine students' responses after using the learning media that has been developed. This research is a type of research and development developed using the ADDIE development model. The resulting product is an Android application made using Smart Apps Creator. Product trials were carried out using a one-group pretest-posttest design, while the instruments used were questionnaires and test instruments. The results of this study are that this learning media gets "Very Feasible" results based on the assessment results from material experts and media experts, with an average percentage of 93.13% feasibility from material experts and 87.73% from media experts. Learning media is effective for use in the learning process. This is based on the t-test results, which get a value of t-score. 11.65, or it can be concluded that there is a significant increase in learning outcomes after using learning media. Students also responded excellently to using learning media, with a percentage of 86.71%.
