Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui relasi yang terdapat dalam naskah Memaling Anak Umat. Tulisan ini menggunakan teori kuasa dari Michael Foucault. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menjadikan kata-kata dalam naskah sebagai data utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua bentuk relasi, yaitu (1) relasi antara Amaq Umat dengan Inaq Raudah dan Halimah dan (2) relasi adat dengan pemegangnya: sebuah kekuatan dan alat perlawanan perempuan.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the main characters on the movie “Joker” by Todd Phillips. This research were categorized as descriptive qualitative research. The data were taken by watching the movie and reading the scripts repeatedly.The theory of the psychological aspect is based on Sigmund Freud theory. They are the Id, ego, and superego. The main character’s Id is about his negative thought to the unfair life due to the negative response from his surrounding. It is a pleasure principle that works through primary process thinking. The main character’s ego is killing people who are wrong. It is a reality principle which works to satisfy all of the Id’s demand through secondary process thinking. The main character’s superego is keeping a good people alive. It is a moral principle that reflects to an idealistic standard through the rules of parents and society. Abstract

The linguistic situation a group of people is influenced by linguistic aspects and context. This research was conducted to see the Balinese speakers' diglossia, among teens of Balinese and the factors that influence the situation. Ethnic Balinese in the city of Mataram, have the ability to speak Balinese (B1), Sasak (B2) and Indonesian (B3). Teens of Balinese in Mataram have a high mobility, interacting with various speech partners with different backgrounds and domains. That affects the choice of language based on domain factors, participant, speech event and topic. This situation is interesting topic to study using the Sociolinguistic studies. This study identifies the factors that influence the choice of language by Balinese speakers, especially teens of Balinese in a speech event in a particular domain. This research is a qualitative study used the data were collected using the methods and techniques: Survey, interview and observation. The sample used was 30 teens of Balinese aged 18-25 years who lived in the city of Mataram. The findings out the research revealed. First: the language situation of Balinese speakers of Mataram city becomes the background there is a process of language choice B1, B2 or B3. Second: This study conducted observations in four domains: family, friendship, education and vogue. Third: This research finding three main factors as influencing the choice of speakers' language in social interactions : (1) time and place; (2) participans in the interaction, (3) and topic in the speech event.

Abstract

This study analyze the messages that imply and how the author sends the messages in graphic novel The Hobbit. The data in this study are in the form of utterances and pictures that refer to the moral values also direct and indirect messages. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative. The method that the researcher used is library research. The data of this research are in the form of pictures and utterances. The steps of data collection are reading graphic novel The Hobbit, finding the messages in the form of utterances and pictures in every chapter in graphic novel The Hobbit, writing / noting down the utterances and pictures that imply a message. The steps of data analysis are doing data reduction by choosing the relevant messages, describing the messages found using Nurgiyantoro’s theory on messages (2007), describing how the author sends messages based on its types using Mahsuri’s theory (2015), concluding the data. From the data, the researcher found thirty four data for the messages. The messages are mostly about how to behave well and to have good atitude towards others. There are three data showing the messages are delivered in a direct way by the author, and there are thirty one data that shows indirect way.

Abstract

This objectives of this study are to discuss and describe the ideology and techniques of. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis. The data of this study are qualitative based on types and sentences that use ideology and translation techniques based on Molina and Albir's theories taken from the translation texts of STIBA Bumigora students for the academic year 2017/2018. In gathering data, the researchers use the observation method. The results showed of the 18 translation techniques, there are 8 techniques used by the students consisting of; Adaptation (1.35%), Amplification (2.70%), Borrowing (27.02%), calque (30.40%), Established Equivalent (2.70%), Generalization (1.35%), Literal Translation (33.78%), and Particularization (0.67%). The most widely used of translation technique is Literal Translation with 33.78% occurance. Based on the findings of the translation techniques used by students in translating texts, it can be concluded that the ideology used is forenisation. The the translation techniques that focus on the source language, namely borrowing, Calque and Literal Translation are more dominant, with an average frequency of 25% occurrence in each text according to the use of techniques which is oriented towards the target language which only plays 5 techniques with a frequency of occurrence of less than 10% in each text.

Abstract

Authentic assessment becomes a crucial impression in its implementation in which teachers should comprehensively implement it in every teaching and learning process. The curriculum implementation needs some supporting factors including teachers' familiarity of the curriculum being implemented and their professional competence (Lengkanawati, 2004). However, a number of teachers still have lack understanding about the concept of authentic assessment impacting its implementation. 1) How comprehensively this assessment has been implemented by teachers (tools mostly used, aspect mostly assessed and the level of comprehensiveness of its implementation)? and 2) what problems are encountered by teachers? By employing mixed-method, this study revealed that less than 40% teachers have comprehensively implemented this assessment and most of them still face difficulties in implementing authentic assessment: lack of comprehensive knowledge and understanding about authentic assessment, their low readiness, low support and cooperation from stakeholders and time limitation. Hopefully, this study can be used as a scientific reflection and information for teachers and stakeholders to improve the quality of curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Not every child book is good for children, even a book was written by children. It needs adult supervision in choosing a book to read. The content inside the book rarely contains the information which continuing gender stereotype. This study aims to see the meaning inside KKPK works, Car Free Day by Alma. Semiotics (Pierce) used to find the meaning of the work. With triangular meaning by pierce (object, sign, and interpretant ) will help us to find the conceiving meaning inside the text. While gender and performativity (Judith Butler) use to assess the meaning. This research is a qualitative study. The data consist of words and pictures. This research found there are three female stereotypes: feminine symbol, woman and hedonism, and weakness of woman.

Abstract

Redewendungen is a group of words that have an idiomatic meaning. This study discusses the using of Redewendungen contained in several sentences from Brigitte magazine and der Stern magazine as a semantic review. From the analysis that writers have done on the advertisement script, it can be concluded that Redewendungen has an idiomatic meaning. In the analysis found some meaning idiomatic, the are (1) metaphorical Redewendung, (2) orthonymische Redewendung, (3) allusive Redewendung, (4) remotivier bare Redewendung, (5) emotional Redewendung.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan meneliti makna simbol dalam ritual perkawinan suku Sasak di pulau Lombok ditinjau dari perspektif semiotik. Agar tercapai tujuan penelitian, peneliti mengajukan satu pertanyaan menyangkut makna tanda yang ada pada properti yang digunakan dalam prosesi sorong serah aji kerama masyarakat Sasak, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif etnografi kualitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dipilih secara purposive informan menjawab interview dan angket yang terdiri dari tiga bagian. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga instrumen yakni: melakukan survei, tanya jawab, dan menyebarkan angket. Jawaban terhadap dari tanya jawab dan angket (kuesioner) dianalisis dengan menggunakan semiotik Pierce. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan makna tanda pada properti atau piranti yang dipergunakan dalam ritual perkawinan suku Sasak di pulau Lombok seperti benang rajut, emas, perak, keris, uang bolong, kain dsb. Properti atau piranti tersebut harus ada dalam perkawinan masyarakat Sasak sebagai simbol penyerahan tanggung jawab orang tua mempelai pengantin perempuan kepada mempelai pengantin laki – laki.

Abstract

Keberadaan iklan sebagai salah satu media promosi tidak hanya memberikan dampak positif tetapi juga negatif. Iklan kecantikan memiliki pengaruh yang besar dalam memengaruhi dan merekonstruksi persepsi publik, khususnya tentang makna kecantikan. Kecantikan didefinisikan sedemikian rupa sesuai dengan selera dan kebutuhan pasar, sehingga menyebabkan definisi cantik mengalami penyempitan. Pemaknaan cantik hanya pada sebatas kecantikan fisik belaka. Iklan dijadikan sebagai alat dominasi dan hegemoni melalui ideologi yang disebarkan dalam representasi kecantikan versi mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ideologi dalam teks iklan Ponds yang dimodeli oleh Raisa Andriani sekaligus mendekonstruksi makna cantik itu sendiri. Penulis menggunakan teori AWK Fairclough dengan pendekatan SFL Halliday dan teori Dekonstruksinya Derrida. Dari analisis disimpulkan bahwa ideologi yang terkandung dalam teks iklan tersebut adalah ‘cantik itu putih’. Dekonstruksi yang dihasilkan adalah cantik itu tidak selalu putih.
