Abstract

Changes in learning patterns both before and after the COVID-19 Pandemic require students to have adjustment abilities. The ability of students to adjust academically in blended learning does require not only teachers' support at school but also the role of parents at home. Well-functioning family is also an important supporting environment for students to have an excellent academic adjustment. To assist parents in helping and guiding students in academics, a workshop for parents was carried out to optimize family functions and parental support in improving students' academic adjustment. A total of 15 parents of Junior High School 4 Jatinangor students participated in this activity. Participants were representatives' parents from grades 7 to 9 of junior high school. The results indicate an increase in parental understanding regarding the role of family functions and parental support for students' academic adjustment. Parents also responded well and were satisfied with the materials and activities.

Abstract

The Student and Teacher Empowerment Program of Food Technology (STEP TP) is one of the flagship intracurricular programs at SMAK Santo Hendrikus Surabaya. However, the teachers who assist the STEP TP do not have any background in food technology, thus limiting their ability to provide comprehensive food technology learning materials to the students. This community service aims to assist the teachers in creating STEP TP learning materials in the form of teaching modules and videos, conduct a guest lecture, and hold a food processing workshop guided by food technology lecturers. The methodologies included conducting a focus group discussion with the school’s principal and teacher, surveying students’ interests and school facilities providing guest lectures and workshops, designing learning instruments, and evaluating the activities. The survey showed that most students were enthusiastic to learn about bread and cake processing, followed by beverage processing. In addition, the guest lecturer on the subject of food packaging was delivered to supplement the teachers' and students' knowledge other than food processing technology. Furthermore, students and teachers were taught to make pumpkin flour, which is applicable to bread and cake. Overall, the community service was fully supported by the partner's contribution. Modules and video had accepted by the school’s partner.

Abstract

The development of information technology is accelerating. Many activities use information technology to do their jobs better. Currently, promotional media is not only through print media but can also use websites as a means of reaching consumers widely. The presence of a website has a positive impact, one of which is being able to get information from anywhere and anytime. This provides a good solution to one of Surabaya's micro, small, and medium enterprises engaged in furniture, namely UD Rozi Rachmad, whose business has been in Surabaya for a long time. The development of this website uses parallel development, and this website is assisted by the use of WordPress, additional themes, and additional plugins. Website testing has been carried out and is in accordance with the expected results with the black box testing method. So that the quality of the web is quite good when several black box tests have been carried out with procedures that have been carried out on testing, It is hoped that the presence of this website can help with promotional media and introduce their products to a wider audience of consumers. Consumers can also transact through the website, making it easier for consumers to shop when they are outside of Surabaya.

Abstract

The use of online media in the process of selling products is intended to help the community more easily in terms of marketing in line with the post-Covid 19. The implementation of this community empowerment depends on the ability of the community or mothers who have small businesses in Tebing Gerinting Village, South Indralaya. One of the main pillars of the Indonesian economy is to develop small businesses in villages that are run directly by the local community without any third party. Villages are something that the government must raise in order to increase new independence for the community. The result of the implementation of this community empowerment activity is the competence of partners, namely being able to carry out good management strategies during the training. Universities provide full support to the community in Tebing Gerinting Village by carrying out implementation methods in the form of observation, formulation of dodol product planning, product branding assistance, dodol manufacture, and product marketing through online media Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to improve product quality, and evaluation of product rebranding with a new name according to the story behind the product. The ultimate goal of this activity is to increase the profits of the Tebing Gerinting Village community and partners. The implementation of assistance related to productivity and product rebranding, insight into sustainable innovation, and activities by providing product sticker logos and product banners help partners to be known in the national market

Abstract

Al-Fashdu therapy is an Islamic-based alternative treatment that is one of the community's options for dealing with health problems. In addition to reducing disease, this therapy is inexpensive because it does not use chemical drugs. This Community Service aims to introduce treatment using the Al-Fashdu method to residents of RT 06 RW 05, Perum Lembah Harapan, Lidah Wetan Village, Lakarsantri District, Surabaya City. Residents of RT 06 mostly complain of various illnesses and have to consume a lot of chemical drugs, but chemical drugs also cause complaints of pain in other body organs. The method of implementing this community service program uses application, training, and assistance on how to do Al-Fasdhu therapy. The training was attended by more than 75 partners, with an average age of 50 years and over. After being treated with Al-Fashdu therapy, the next activity is to provide Al-Fashdu therapy training to the community with the aim of being able to carry out Al-Fashdu therapy independently. As a result of this community service activity, many residents feel their bodies are healthier and are able to independently apply Al-Fashdu therapy.

Abstract

Environmental management has become a major issue for Partner Groups, especially those in the Losari Beach area. Awareness regarding the importance of environmental cleanliness has been established with the existence of regulations that regulate environmental management, especially waste management. However, the socialization related to government programs has not touched business actors in Losari Beach. Therefore, this community service aims to provide socialization of PP No. 4 of 2011 regarding the waste management program as an effort to increase awareness of environmental cleanliness. A clean environment can attract domestic and foreign tourists which will directly have an impact on increasing the income of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The stages of implementing the activities are the preparation stage and the implementation stage using the socialization method. The result of the service is that the community understands the purpose of the PP Regional Regulation No. 4 of 2011 for MSMEs, one of which is protecting the environment as a tourist attraction. The high number of tourists visiting has an impact on purchasing power, thus Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to exist to maintain their business.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education is a very important period in forming one's character. Moreover, the education of the main character of nationalism must be instilled early on because the global challenges in this era are enormous. There are several methods of learning nationalism in early childhood, one of which is learning through singing. Currently, in Kindergarten Dinar Nasyiah 2 Rogojampi, nationalism education is still lacking because facilities are constrained by infrastructure and teacher skills. This problem encouraged the community service team to carry out this activity. It is hoped that this will increase the participants' knowledge and improve school facilities that can support the growth of national values from an early age. This activity is carried out through workshops and training for teachers, students, and parents of students. From the implementation of these activities, it can be seen that all participants were very enthusiastic to participate. In addition, the teachers felt they were getting additional knowledge about nationalism learning methods for children. This activity also gave rise to a new extracurricular activity at school, namely the drum band for Kindergarten students Dinar Nasyiah 2 Rogojampi.

Abstract

Wisma Gaharu as one of the plantations assisted by the Malang Regency Perhutani Service conducts an agarwood nursery with the species Gyrinops Versteegii. However, the agarwood plants cultivated at Wisma Gaharu are attacked by caterpillars annually, causing damage to the agarwood leaves. Accordingly, the growth of agarwood plants is hampered, and further dry out and die. This causes the owner of Wisma Gaharu to suffer huge losses, especially if the pest attacks the plant which is ready for the inoculation process in the dry season. To overcome this, agarwood farmers must pay high attention and vigilance to fight agarwood caterpillar attacks that occur throughout the year since it is considered the most dangerous pest for plants. The unavailability of production support equipment is one of the problems faced by Wisma Gaharu; there is also a need for work safety training (K3) regarding proper supporting equipment use considering the risks faced by workers in the agriculture sector. The above problems underline the main reasons for supporting equipment procurement and administering work safety training.
