Abstract

Panji Tourism Village that is located in Buleleng Regency, Bali has various tourism potentials such as nature, history, culture, and man-made attractions which are generally developed through training and education for micro small, and medium enterprises products as valuable and highly competitive tourist souvenirs from Panji Village. However, these various potentials have not been properly promoted in order to attract tourists. In the era of information and technology, digital marketing has become one of the keys in developing Panji Tourism Village to provide information and effective promotions to introduce cultural wisdom and natural beauty. Departing from this condition, this community service program aimed at assisting the village in increasing the promotion and branding of Panji Tourism Village through providing socialization and training related to digital marketing to POKDARWIS members in Panji Village with various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, virtual tours, and websites, providing profiles, developing and managing the https://ecovilllagepanji.id website. The methods of the community service program were mainly in the form of a workshop that included lectures, discussion, and practice. The result of the community service program is the creation of creative and innovative web-based digitization of tourism village profiles. This promotional media is able to bring in tourists thereby increasing the welfare of the community.

Abstract

Antibiotics are drugs that are used to treat bacterial infections. The thing that must be considered by pharmacists is the use of antibiotics without a doctor's prescription where if used incorrectly it will cause the problem of antibiotic resistance in a population. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase public basic knowledge of current treatment by providing drug information or education to the community. This activity was carried out by gathering 50 respondents to conduct interviews (pre-test and post-test) and public education on the theme of antibiotic resistance. Based on the results obtained, the community's understanding in terms of the use of antibiotics is increasing regarding the rules for use and when to use antibiotics. The public understands for free buying antibiotics without a doctor's prescription is a bad choice and there are people who based knowledge on antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial resistance, or drug resistance addition. Public understanding of the use of antibiotics is still low. This was proven when people bought antibiotics freely anywhere.

Abstract

Pasimarannu village as one of the villages experiencing coastal abrasion and threatening the settlements of residents living in coastal areas. During the high tide, several houses were submerged by sea water, and during the east and west seasons the wind was strong enough so that the high waves reached under the houses. Attention and effort are needed in anticipating the level of damage that will occur.  The community service program is carried out by providing awareness and active participation of the community in protecting the coast through participatory mangrove planting. The method of implementing the activities consists of socialization and FGD on the implementation of the activity plan, Formation of Forest Farmer Groups (KTH), mangrove nurseries, participatory mangrove planting, embroidery, and maintenance, as well as program monitoring and evaluation. Technical activities involve extension workers and forestry technical personnel. The key to the success of this participatory planting is the right planting time to avoid the strong currents and waves in the east monsoon. Routine maintenance activities to anticipate and eradicate oyster pests that damage plants during the vulnerable phase, which is up to 4 months of planting.

Abstract

Shrimp cultivation is a very profitable business in Gresik. However, shrimp farmers in Mojopuro Gede Village, Gresik admitted that they did not optimize their cultivation process. The farmer did not realize that water quality is essential to be considered in aquaculture. Based on these problems, the team held a community service in Mojopuro Gede Village, Gresik by introducing the water quality meter module and giving it to several shrimp farmers in the area. This activity was carried out so that the farmers can improve their cultivation process which has not been optimal and also introduce them to technological developments. Technology use in cultivation is expected to increase the quality of the farmers' crops. The implementation methods used in this activity are socialization and training. In this community service program, education has been given to the farmers so that they understand and care about the condition of their ponds in the cultivation process. The purpose of this program is for introducing the importance of technology in the cultivation process, even though it is actually not easy to provide education to shrimp farmers, especially traditional farmers. Therefore, related parties (NU Gresik Maritime Institute and Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office of East Java Province) are expected to be more active in providing understanding to the farmers regarding the importance of applying technology in the cultivation process.

Abstract

Proper handling of biomass waste can turn waste into something beneficial for society. One way that can be done is to convert biomass waste into quality biochar for energy needs and agriculture as a planting medium. This partnership program is intended to provide education and practical knowledge to the community regarding utilizing biomass waste for biochar production using a double tube reactor. The activities consisted of socialization of the impact of the abandonment of biomass and the benefits of biomass for household energy needs, as well as practical experience of carbonizing biomass by directly involving partner communities. This activity was carried out at Pambulaan Jaya Village Hall attended by 32 community partners and 9 teams from Halu Oleo University. This partnership activity is very relevant for people in the village where most of the population lives as rice and field farmers. The practical knowledge on carbonizing biomass waste was conducted in two days for the two types of biomasses, namely wood chips and coconut shells. The community was very enthusiastic about continuing the carbonization process after they learned about the great benefits of this biochar product for household energy needs, growing media for plantations, and increasing their income.

Abstract

The importance of reproductive health education in Islamic boarding schools is often overlooked. Whereas the prevalence of reproductive health issues among teenage females in Islamic boarding schools remains high, including anemia, vaginal discharge, dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, and personal hygiene. These difficulties have an impact such as absenteeism at school, wasting and infertility. Peer education is seen to be capable of addressing these issues since adolescents in Islamic boarding schools engage with their peers more frequently than with their families, instructors, or health workers. The purpose of this activity is to increase participants' knowledge, attitudes, and skills on peer education and adolescent reproductive health. Adolescent reproductive health education, peer education training, and assistance in extracurricular activities that have the potential to help establish healthy madrasas are among the activities carried out. Thirty students who wanted to become peer educators took part in this activity. The results of the activities were evaluated using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, as well as the practice of health education and counseling. The result of this activity is an increase in participants' knowledge about adolescent reproductive health by 8.28 and peer education by 5.17 after participating in the activity. Participants are also able to recognize reproductive health issues that commonly arise in teens and how to prevent them.

Abstract

Sukapura Village, located in Bandung Regency, has a Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) program that includes various activities, such as the production of cassava chips. Currently, there is a high demand for cassava chips that cannot be met. Through analysis conducted by the community service team, it has been determined that the demand for cassava chips exceeds the production capacity. One of the contributing factors is the manual process involved in making cassava chips, which takes a relatively long time. One specific manual process is the mixing of cassava chips with dry seasoning. The cassava chips are placed in a container, and then dry spices are added. The mixing process is carried out by hand, ensuring that the spices are evenly distributed throughout the cassava chips. This manual process typically takes around 10-14 minutes for every 1.5 kg of cassava chips. To address this issue and improve efficiency, the community service team has designed and constructed a machine specifically for mixing dry seasoning. With this machine, the mixing process is significantly more efficient, taking less than 5 minutes to achieve optimal results. As a result, the time efficiency and productivity of the mixing process have greatly increased.
