Abstract

This research aims to develop the activities-based instructional material in junior high school natural science learning on sense of hearing and sonar systems topic through Media Interactive CD to improve learning achievement. This research use research and development. The model used is taken from Dick and Carey?s developmental model. The tests used are one group pre-test and post-test. The data analysis technique used descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that (1) the validation of teaching materials id categorized as feasible, (2) the feasibility of teaching materials with the average score of 3.7 is categorized as good, the percentages of students' response to learning and media are 98.81% and 90.48% , categorized as very good, 99,29% legibility of media is categorized as very good, (3) the effective teaching materials to reach the achievement of students? competency and activate students gets an average score of 3.25, the cognitive aspect of learning outcomes is categorized as "B+", the aspect of skill is 3.58, categorized as " A- ", aspects of spiritual attitude is 3.67, categorized as very good, aspects of social attitudes is 3.60, categorized as very good. Based on the research findings, we can conclude that the activities-based instructional material in junior high school natural science learning on sense of hearing and sonar systems topic through Media Interactive CD is feasible, practical and effective to be used in the teaching and learning process.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis aktivitas dengan media CD interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP pada materi indera pendengaran dan sistem sonar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan bahan ajar. Model pengembangan yang  digunakan  adalah  model  Dick  and  Carey.  Uji  coba  bahan  ajar  di  dalam  kelas  menggunakan rancangan one group pre-test and post-test design. Teknik analisis yang dikembangkan adalah deskriptif kuantitaif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) validasi bahan ajar berkategori layak, (2) kepraktisan bahan ajar berkategori baik dengan skor rata-rata keterlaksanaan 3,7 berkategori baik, persentase respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran dan media 98,81% dan 90,48% berkategori sangat baik, keterbacaan media 99,29% berkategori sangat baik, (3)  bahan  ajar  efektif untuk menfasilitasi siswa mencapai ketercapaian kompetensi dan mengaktifkan siswa dengan skor rata-rata hasil belajar aspek pengetahuan 3,25 berkategori ?B+?, aspek keterampilan 3,58 berkategori ?A-?, aspek sikap spiritual 3,67 berkategori sangat  baik,  aspek  sikap  sosial  3,60  berkategori  sangat  baik.  Berdasarkan temuan  hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahan ajar berbasis aktivitas dengan media CD interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP pada materi indera pendengaran dan sistem sonar layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop instructional package using 5E model of instruction to foster student?s scientific reasoning. The instructional package consisting of lesson plan, handout, student?s worksheet, and scientific reasoning test was developed by using the four-D model. Subject of research in this study was instructional package using 5E model of instruction which was tried out on tenth grade students of SMAN 15 Surabaya. The tryout was conducted by using the one-group pre-test post- test design. This study used three techniques for collecting data, namely observation, test, and questionnaire. The obtained data were processed with descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings revealed that the developed instructional package reflecting th e 5E model was valid to be implemented in classroom, the completion of the lesson plan was categorized excellent, and students were engaged actively in the instruction of the 5E model as shown by their dominant activities namely performing experiment and discussion. The other findings showed that the 5E model of instruction is effective to foster student?s scientific reasoning skills and students gave positive responses to the implementation of the developed instructional package. However, there were obstacles that teacher and students faced during instructional process. Regarding to the findings, then it can be concluded that the developed instructional package reflecting 5E model of instruction is effective to be implemented to foster student?s scientific reasoning.

Abstract

Advances technology and communications take positive and negative impacts that could affect the attitudes and thoughts of students, so it is necessary to teach positive attitude to become a fortress, selector and controller. The problem can be solved by the innovation of learning by analogy to teach attitude. The aims this research are: (1) Describe the adherence study using analogy,(2) Describe achievment test of student attitude competency (the persistent attitude, the attitude of helping, loyalty  and discipline) as taught using analogy (3) Describe achievement test of students knowledge competency taught using the analogy, (4) Describe achievement test of students skills competency taught using the following analogy. (5) Describe the students respons after taught using analogy. To achieve these objectives have conducted result using replication class is the class XA and XB class. the number of respondents in this trial 33 students to a class XA and XB 32 SMA Darul Ulum Lamongan by using one group pretest-posttest design. Results of research indicate feasibility study of the two classes of replication done very well. The student  positive response/very strong on applied learning by teacher. The results of students' learning attitudes which consists of persistent attitude, the attitude of mutual help, loyalty and discipline to get good results because of the percentage of students are observed in accordance with accepted indicators are higher than what has not observed. Learning outcomes of cognitive in both classes of replication after learning by analogy with the average value obtained posttest all the students completed having reached the predicate ?B-. Based on these results it can be concluded that teach biology through analogy can to teach attitude. Kemajuan teknologi dan komunikasi  membawa dampak positif dan negatif yang dapat mempengaruhi sikap dan pemikiran siswa, sehingga perlu membelajarkan sikap positif untuk menjadi benteng, selector dan pengontrol. Problem  tersebut dapat dipecahkan dengan adanya inovasi pembelajaran melalui analogi untuk mengajarkan sikap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran biologi menggunakan analogi (2) Mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kompetensi sikap (sikap gigih, sikap tolong menolong, sikap rela berkorban dan sikap disiplin) siswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan analogi. (3) Mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kompetensi pengetahuan siswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan analogi. (4) Mendeskripsikan hasil belajar kompetensi keterampilan siswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan analogi (5) Mendeskripsikan respon siswa setelah diajarkan menggunakan analogi. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut telah dilakukan uji coba dengan menggunakan kelas replikasi yaitu kelas XA dan kelas XB. Jumlah responden dalam uji coba ini 33 siswa untuk kelas XA dan 32 XB SMA Darul Ulum Lamongan dengan menggunakan rancangan.penelitian One Group pretest-posttest Design. Data hasil penelitiaan ini menunjukkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sikap menggunakan analogi pada kedua kelas replikasi terlaksana sangat baik. Siswa memberikan respon sangat kuat pada pembelajaran yang diterapkan guru. Hasil belajar sikap siswa yang terdiri dari sikap gigih, sikap tolong menolong, sikap rela berkorban dan sikap disiplin mendapatkan hasil yang baik karena persentase siswa yang teramati sesuai dengan indikator yang telah ditetapkan yaitu lebih tinggi dibandingkan yang tidak teramati. Hasil belajar kognitif pada kedua kelas replikasi setelah dilakukan pembelajaran dengan analogi diperoleh rata-rata nilai posttest semua siswa tuntas karena telah mencapai predikat ?B-. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa mengajarkan biologi melalui analogi dapat mengajarkan sikap siswa.

Abstract

This study aims at examining the effects of use of Interview technique and worksheets together on the subject of matter geometric optics of senior high school 11th grade students on the creative thinking skills. Simple experimental method was used in the present study. Study group of  the  research comprises  of  108 11th grade students studying in public school in Balongpanggang district of East Java province. The prepared Test for Creative Thinking Skills and Interview Technique (TCT-IT) was administered to the students as pre-test-post-test. Data obtained via pre-test-post-test were transferred to SPSS 15.00 program was applied on these data. Frequency and percentage table was constituted. Considering the analysis results, it was concluded that use of worksheets and interview technique together has positive effects on students? creative thinking skills

Abstract

This study is aimed at teaching the ability of creative thinking and the comprehension of concept for students by developing science learning kit which mainly refer to guided discovery method. This is development research. The learning kit being validated by experts are syllabus, lesson plan, student work sheet, student learning book, mastering concept questions, and creative thingking questions. The learning kit was tested to 35 Grade X students in SMAN 1 Manyar. The design of study applies one group pretest-posttest with descriptive qualitative data analysis technique. The test results of learning kit are: the feasibility of lesson plan for three meetings has very good category; mastering concept ability, assessed from the mastery of indicators, reached  80% is in accomplished category; individual mastery reached70% is in accomplished category. Students? creative thinking ability before the learning was 28,6%. It is categorized as less creative. After students having guided discovery in learning, students achieved 84,86% or creative category and the average of students? conceptual comprehension is N-Gain > 0,70. This shows a high comprehension of concept on environment changes and waste recycling topic. Based on the test results, it is concluded that science learning kit developed is feasible, practical, and effective to teach creative thinking ability for students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep siswa yang dilakukan dengan cara mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan.Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi silabus, RPP, LKS, buku ajar siswa, soal penguasaan konsep, dan soal berpikir kreatif yang divalidasi oleh pakar.Ujicoba perangkat dilakukan pada 35 siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Manyar. Desain Penelitian menggunakan one group pretest-postest. Parameter yang diukur meliputi keterlaksanaan RPP, tes hasil belajar, kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan penguasaan konsep.Teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif.Hasil uji coba perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan: keterlaksanaan RPP selama tiga kali pertemuan berkategori sangat baik, kemampuan penguasaan konsep dilihat dari ketuntasan indikator ? 80% dikategorikan tuntas, ketuntasan individu ? 75 dikategorikan tuntas. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebelum pembelajaran adalah 28,6% dengan kategori kurang kreatif dan rata-rata perolehan siswa setelah pembelajaran 84,86% dengan kategori kreatif, rata-rata kemampuan penguasaan konsep setelah mengikuti pelajaran N-Gain ? 0,70, ini menunjukkan penguasaaan konsep yang tinggi terhadap materi perubahan lingkungan dan daur ulang limbah. Berdasarkan hasil ujicoba, disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran sains dengan metode guided discovery yang telah dikembangkan layak, praktis dan efektif untuk mengajarkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa

Abstract

This study aims to accustome the ability of critical thinking skills of students who managed CTL approach using model Group Investigation. This study was conducted in two phases, the preparation phase which aims to develop learning package and the second phases of the trail of the device. Learning package  developed in the form of lesson plan (RPP), Students worksheet (LKS), text books (BAS),  and critical thingking skills test (TBK). Critical thinking skills are trained include formulating the problem, provide argument, analize and conclude. The device was developed with the development step of Borg and Gall, then proceed with the trial in the classroom by using pretest-posttest design. Data collected by expert judgement, observation, testing, and legibility BAS were collected using techniques close procedure. The collected data were then analized using descriptive analysis. Results of data analysis obtained as follows the quality of learning package developed by expert declared valid by validator. extremely high level of legibility and easy to understand, RPP achieve excellent, student activity that stand out is formulating a problem; student activity that stands out is formulating a problem; obstades that occur in the learning process is that students are not familiar investigations, thus requiring a briefing before hand. Critical thinking skills of students in the high category. Students' response to the lessons learned, so of data analysis can be concluded that the learning package by using CTL approach GI type cooperative model in the static fluid material can be used to train students' critical thinking skill Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang dikelola dengan pendekatan CTL menggunakan model Group Investigation. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan yang bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran dan tahap kedua tahap uji coba perangkat. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), Buku Ajar Siswa (BAS), dan tes Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis (KBK). Keterampilan berpikir kritis yang dilatihkan meliputi merumuskan masalah, memberikan argumen, menganalisis, dan menyimpulkan. Perangkat dikembangkan dengan langkah-langkah pengembangan dari Borg and Gall, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji coba di SMA Plus Sabilur Rosyad di kelas X-IPA1 dan X-IPA2 dengan menggunakan rancangan pretest-postest design. Data dikumpul berdasarkan penilaian validator, observasi, tes, dan  keterbacaan BAS yang dikumpul dengan menggunakan teknik close procedure. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis data diperoleh sebagai berikut: kualitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid oleh pakar/validator; tingkat keterbacaan BAS sangat tinggi dan mudah dipahami; RPP mencapai keterlaksanaan yang sangat baik; aktivitas siswa yang menonjol adalah merumuskan masalah; kendala yang terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran adalah siswa belum terbiasa melakukan penyelidikan, sehingga membutuhkan pengarahan terlebih dahulu. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran baik, sehingga dari hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran dengan pendekatan CTL menggunakan model kooperatif Group Investigation pada materi fluida statis dapat digunakan untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Research learning characterized biology with Thinking Actively in Social Context (TASC) approach to increase creative thinking skills of students has been done tested to applied in 30 students of class X SMA Negeri 1Kebomas-Gresik with one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of this research are learning performance categorized good (3.82) in the score range 1-4, the ability to think creatively students increased due to treatment (Gain Score = 0.9 and T test = -tmearure < -ttable = -21.028 -2.045), thoroughness student learning outcomes in classical (0.93) and the individual (0.86) and thoroughness indicators (0.92) increased by the treatment (Gain score = 0.8) and categories are complete, and the response students positive (98 percent). The conclusions this research, learning with TASC approach can improve the creative thinking ability of senior high school student.Telah dilakukan penelitian pembelajaran biologi dengan pendekatan Thinking Actively in Social Context (TASC) dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dan diujicobakan pada 30 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kebomas-Gresik dengan  desain  one  group  pretest-posttest.  Analisis  data  secara  deskriptif  kualitatif  dengan  hasil  pengamatan  keterlaksanaan pembelajaran kategori baik (3,82) dalam rentang skor 1-4, kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa meningkat akibat perlakuan (Gain Score = 0,9 dan uji T = -thitung < -ttabel = - 21,028 < -2,045), ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal (0,93) dan individu (0,86) serta ketuntasan indikator (0,92) meningkat akibat perlakuan (Gain score = 0,8) dan kategori tuntas, serta respon siswa positif (98%). Simpulan penelitian ini, pembelajaran dengan pendekatan TASC dapat meningkatkan kemampuan  berpikir kreatif siswa SMA.

Abstract

This research aims to produce physics teaching material through guided inquiry model which is valid, practical, and effective to facilitate the students? scientific skill  in senior high school. The development of teaching material used the Kemp model and was tested in class X MIA of SMAN 1 Pasir Belengkong first semester in academic year 2014/2015 by using the one-group pretest-posttest design. The data collection used Validation, observation, tets, and questionnaire student responses. The data analysis techniques used quantitativ and qualitativ descriptive analysis. The results of this research are:1) Teaching material developed has a valid category; 2) The practicality of teaching material in terms of a good category in feasibility of lesson plans and the students? activities in accordance with steps of guided inquiry model; and 3) The teaching material effectiveness in terms of: (a) Improving students? learning achievement seen with high gain scores; (b)  Percentage of scientific skill of students indicated by the increased of each meeting; and (c) The students?responds toward material and implementation of learning are positive. Based on the result of the above  It?s conclusion that the teaching material through guided inquiry model are valid, practical, and effective  so that used to facilitate the students scientific skill in senior high school. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran fisika model inkuiri terbimbing yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan kinerja ilmiah siswa SMA. Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model Kemp dan diujicobakan di kelas X MIA SMAN 1 Pasir Belenkong semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015 dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode validasi, observasi, tes, dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan deskriptip kualitatif. Temuan hasil penelitian, yaitu: 1) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berkategori valid; 2) Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari keterlaksanaan RPP berkategori baik dan aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pada model inkuiri terbimbing; dan 3) Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran ditinjau dari: (a) Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa rata-rata tinggi; (b) Persentase kinerja ilmiah siswa ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya setiap pertemuannya; dan (c) Respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran positif. Berdasarkan hasil-hasil di atas disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif  sehingga layak digunakan untuk melatihkan kinerja ilmiah siswa SMA.

Abstract

This research was done by developing learning materials (lesson plans, student?s worksheets, textbooks students, test understanding of the concept, Thinking skill and Social Skill) nested models based guided inquiry by using 4D development model to improve the understanding of the concept, thinking skills and social skills on the subject of light. The objective of this research is trial learning materials for 32 of junior high school?s students with the design of the one-group pretest-posttest design. Result was analyzed by descriptive quantitative - qualitative with: (a) validity of learning material is very valid category; (b) learning realization with good category; (c) the students response are positive; (d) student?s understanding of the concept is increased (high criteria); (e) thinking skill is increased (high criteria); (f) social skill increased in every meeting. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effect of the TEQ - DLS   learning on critical students? critical thinking skill. This research was conducted in two stages, developed teaching learning material followed by the implementation phase of learning in the classroom. This research was a quasi experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest design and the subject of this research was  34  eighth  grade  students  of  SMP  Al  Hikmah  Surabaya. Research  data  collection  was  taken  through  observation,  tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of research data validation were analyzed descriptively. The empirical analysis includes the calculation of validity, reliability and sensitivity of the items test instrument. Critical thinking scores were analyzed using normalized gain and paired t-test to determine the effect of TEQ - DLS on learning outcomes of students. The results were obtained as follows: the learning implementation indicated good category. T-paired test on students? critical thinking results showed sig (2-tailed) = 0.00 so there were significant differences in students' critical thinking skills after learning. Students score had increased with normalized gain = 0.67 medium category (0,3? (<g>) ? 0,7). Students? completeness viewed from critical thinking indicator as big as 88.24%..  Research was concluded that the TEQ-DLS learning has an effect significantly in improving students' critical thinking skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran PBMP-SDL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua  tahap, yaitu tahap pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dilanjutkan dengan tahap implementasi pembelajaran di kelas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pretest-postest design dan subyek 34 siswa kelas VIII SMP Al Hikmah Surabaya. Pengumpulan data penelitian diambil melalui observasi, tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Data hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis secara deskriptif. Analisis empiris instrumen tes meliputi perhitungan validitas, reabilitas dan sensitivitas butir soal dari hasil belajar siswa. Skor berpikir kritis dianalisis menggunakan gain ternormalisasi dan uji t-berpasangan. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan bahwa  keterlaksanaan pembelajaran  menunjukkan  kategori  baik.  Hasil  uji  t-  berpasangan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi zat aditif makanan menunjukkan sig (2-tailed) = 0,00 artinya terdapat  perbedaan  secara   signifikan  setelah  pembelajaran.  Skor   siswa   mengalami  peningkatan  dengan   gain ternormalisasi = 0,67 berkategori sedang (0,3? (<g>) ? 0,7). Ketuntasan siswa ditinjau dari indikator berpikir kritis sebesar 88,24%. Kesimpulannya pembelajaran PBMP-SDL berpengaruh secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
