Abstract

This study aims to see how the influence of communication and leadership on conflict resolution. Communication and leadership, which is an integral part of the organization, generally have a strong influence on the organization or even not, depending on how they communicate and use their leadership in managing the organization. The research method used is correlational research which aims to detect the extent to which variations in one factor are related to variations in other factors based on the correlation coefficient. Organizational communication structure is defined as a system of pathways through which messages flow or as a pattern of interaction between the people who make up the organization (Nica in Hener, 2010). Leaders influence others through their ability to motivate, inform, inspire, have technical competence, communicate effectively, and convey a vision (Pierce & Newstrom in Kaimenyi, 2014). Organizational conflict is a disagreement between individuals or groups within the organization, focusing on factors ranging from resource allocation and division of responsibilities to the employee organization as a whole (Hossain, 2017).

Abstract

The study x-rayed the positive-negative effects of social media networks: the mediating role of media house in Nigeria. It was organized into six sections; introduction, positive effects, negative effects, the Nigerian experience, the mediating role of the media and conclusion. The main objective was to dissect the intricacies (benefits and abuses or harms) surrounding the use of the social media and to find measures of curtailing the excesses or negative effects of the social media on young persons. The study found that young persons are glued to the social media and it will be very difficult to gag or censor its use. However, the media house has enormous task by constantly deploying sensitization, and advocacy mechanisms to abreast young people of the ills associated or interfacing with social media networks. It is therefore suggested that there should collaborations among all stakeholders; governments, media house, families, churches, mosques and educational institutions towards educating and enlightening juveniles on proper use of the social media networks.

Abstract

Auctions are universally believed to be the most accountable and fair trading system. This is also recognized by the Republic of Indonesia in administering the state treasury and the Management of State Property, where all sales of State Property must be carried out through auctions. The problem is, there is a legal Politics (legal policy) of differential treatment ("discrimination") for residents/civil servants in the regulation that the sale of Class III State Houses (Idle State Property) is carried out without having to go through an auction and even with a price of 50% of the fair market price assessment. . The difference in treatment raises legal (juridical) issues. The juridical problem that arises is the existence of a conflict of norms between what should be (das sollen) in the constitution contrary to the norms written in the laws and regulations (das sein). Between Article 27 paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia which states "all citizens have the same status in law and government............." is contrary to statutory regulations which is below that relates to the sale of State Houses to occupants/civil servants without an auction. From the juridical problems mentioned above, the "question" is: how is the legal politics that provides differential treatment to residents/public servants seen from the perspective of the philosophy of social justice that is in line with the goals of the Indonesian nation, namely realizing Social Justice for All Indonesian People? From the results of the analysis carried out using the evaluative-deductive analysis method, the results of the research are that legal politics that apply differential treatment of occupants/civil servants in the arrangement of selling Class III State Houses (Idle State Property) without auction are not in accordance with the meaning of "Justice of Fairness" as meant by John Rawls

Abstract

The surge in housing prices in cities has triggered the emergence of many problems related to urban settlements, starting from the construction of housing that is far from the city center, congestion problems, pollution, to encouraging the occurrence of many informal slum settlements. This causes a shift in settlements to supporting areas, especially Jabodetabek. Residential prices are dominantly influenced by high land prices. Infrastructure development has a major influence on economic growth and the development of an urban area. However, this is not easy to apply in the Depok City area, especially in the Cinere and Beji District areas. Housing development is very rapid but must be followed by the development of facilities and infrastructure. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of infrastructure development factors such as road network (accessibility), availability of facilities (transportation network, electricity network, telephone network, clean water network, educational facilities, health facilities) and residential neighborhoods based on the opinions of housing residents on land prices in residential neighborhoods in Depok City, especially in Cinere Dan Beji Districts. The research method used is research using a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods in stages considering the complexity of the problem. Quantitative methods will be used to look at housing-related data as a basis, then to NJOP analysis as a basis for land prices. The results of this study indicate that in general, the data analysis shows compatibility with the literature that has been done, that land prices are very significantly influenced by the accessibility of the main highway network and the presence of commercial equipment to fulfill needs.

Abstract

Effects of globalization are reverberating across human endeavours in modern times and the social media being drivers of globalization are serving as veritable channels for transmitting information and communication from person to person, group to group and nation to nation as well as continent to continent. The unrestrained attitude of youth in the use of social media is rather contagious. It seems to demonstrate the indispensability and high premium placed on social media networks, maybe, due to the rewardable exercise derivable from social networking. Hence, the study seeks to examine social media and youth engagement in a dynamic world: the Nigerian perspective. The main objectives are to demonstrate the indispensable significance of the social media networks in a dynamic world and to secure or devise profitable measures of engaging the youths through the social media. The study is therefore, structured into six perspectives; introduction, general significance of the social media, effects of social media networks, the Nigerian perspective on the use of the social media, engaging the youth through social media, conclusion and recommendations.

Abstract

There has been widespread concern about children’s emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) within mainstream schools in Libya. Parents’ accounts of children experiencing EBD are underrepresented in the literature, effectively giving prominence to the views and interpretations of professionals. This qualitative study used semi-structured interviews with 30 parents representing two different Libyan educational authority; this was with the intention of exploring children’s EBD and the contributing factors. Although the results echoed the generally accepted tropes, parents were not often ready to accept that their children have EBD, nor willing to attribute children’s EBD to solely individual or psychological inner conflicts. Instead, they referred children’s difficulties to a wider context in which schools and teachers contribute significantly. They maintained that mainstream schools in Libya failed to address children’s specific learning needs, reflecting deficiencies within the school system. In addition, traditional factors were found to obstruct parents from making practical contributions to children’s education, thus creating more tension and conflicts between home and school rather than solving those which already exist. The implications of this study on the attributions of EBD underline the role and responsibility of teachers leading to EBD and consequently preparing the ground for exclusion.

Abstract

Unsustainable development has often threatened watershed ecology in many parts of the world, and population growth has played a major role in this process. Our study consists of the development of a watershed management plan. The degradation of environments by bushfire, timber exploitation, and firewood harvesting dew soil and pollutes spring water, in addition, there are also negative impacts on the physicochemical property of the soil. This research aims to put in place a watershed management plan to restore the soil and the soil pit against erosion. The development also allows for the protection of water resources and the pollution generated by this degradation. The study specifies the physical characteristics of the watershed: altitude, slope, and constant of Graveluis. We also examine the physicochemical properties of the soil: structure, texture, and pH. After the study of the soil, we also determined the measure of the flow of the source, the organoleptic analysis, and also the physicochemical and bacteriological analysis. The results of this work once made available to the authorities of the basic data could be exploited in the framework of the improvement of the quality of water intended for human consumption. To fight against water pollution, the easiest measure to apply is a large awareness campaign.
