Abstract

This study aims to see a picture of mothers' knowledge and attitudes in providing exclusive breastfeeding to prevent diarrhea in children under five. The method used is descriptive-analytic. The results of the study showed that the majority of mothers' knowledge was still lacking, namely 101 mothers (56.4%), mothers' attitudes were good, namely 126 mothers (70.4%), and 148 (82.7%) children under five were exclusively breastfed. The conclusion is that mothers' knowledge is still lacking, mothers' attitudes are positive, and most children under five already receive exclusive breast milk. Abstract

This study aims to assess mothers' knowledge level in the pediatric ward of Bandung Adventist Hospital regarding the management of diarrhea in children aged 1 to 5 years. The method used is quantitative descriptive. This study used a questionnaire assessing maternal awareness of childhood diarrhea. Fifty women randomly selected from the Bandung Adventist Hospital pediatric ward became the research sample. The research results showed that 20% of respondents were in the excellent group, while 80% were in the poor category. In conclusion, based on research findings, mothers' knowledge level in treating diarrhea in children aged 1 to 5 years in the children's room at Bandung Adventist Hospital is in the poor category, with 40 respondents. Efforts that can be made to increase mothers' knowledge are by educating parents about preventing and treating diarrhea in toddlers so that it can increase or improve mothers' knowledge. Abstract

This research aims to develop a Ventilator-Associated Events (VAE) surveillance instrument based on the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) in the intensive care unit (ICU). The method used is Research and Development with stages including literature study, observation evaluation, validity and reliability testing, and focus group discussions (FGD). The research results show that the development of an NHSN-based VAE surveillance instrument in the ICU consists of two sheets, namely the first sheet (patient identity, minimum daily PEEP, and FiO2) and the second sheet (IVAC PVAP criteria). The I-CVI test result is 1.00, and the KR 20 test is 0.96, which means it is valid and reliable. In conclusion, developing an NHSN-based VAE surveillance instrument in the ICU can be applied in hospitals to refine Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) surveillance. This can objectively detect complications from using a ventilator due to infection or non-infection. Keywords: Infection, Instruments, Surveillance, VAE, VAP

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of information technology in nursing practices. The method used is a systematic review with the preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis (prism). The search uses the Boolean phrase "information," "Technology," "Nursing Care," and "Nursing Practice". Literature studies consider original articles, sources from journals, and articles in English. They are available as complete text from international databases, e.g., Science Direct, Scopus, Sage, PubMed, and Proquest. To analyze using Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). The results showed that information technology can help nurses in increasing collaboration and clinical, supporting decisions in facilitating the integration of clinical workflow between nurses and other medical professionals, improving the quality and efficiency of medical and maintenance services, facilitating communication management in the technology environment, increasing information documentation, Management, and monitoring, improving resource management, improving performance and satisfaction management, policy making, and facilitating the path of organizational and professional growth. CONCLUSION: IT can help nurses increase collaboration and clinical decision support in promoting the integration of clinical workflows between nurses and other medical professionals, satisfaction management, policy making, and reducing the path of organizational and professional growth. Abstract

This research aims to identify the benefits of comic books as an educational medium for children's physiological and psychological maladaptive responses before surgery. The method used in this research is a descriptive research method with a case study approach. The study results show that perioperative use of comic book educational media can reduce children's physiological and psychological maladaptive responses before surgery. There was a decrease in preoperative anxiety based on APAIS scores in both research subjects, namely from high stress to mild anxiety after reading perioperative comic books. In conclusion, using perioperative comic book educational media can reduce maladaptive responses in children before surgery. Abstract

This research aims to identify the optimization of the implementation of tiered supervision for the completeness of nursing documentation in inpatient rooms. The method used is a case study approach with interviews, document review, observation, and problem analysis using fishbone analysis. The research results show that all nursing managers can optimize the implementation of tiered supervision for the completeness of nursing documentation. Nursing managers can carry out routine maintenance of staff under them regarding the suitability of the diagnoses raised with subjective and objective data collected from the results of assessments carried out by nurses, proven by trials of implementing tiered supervision in three inpatient rooms with observational evaluations, and data obtained that there is an increase in the percentage of conformity of diagnoses. First nursing with subjective and objective data from 43.4% to 82.6%, and second diagnosis from 52.1% to 95.65%. The room is in the refreezing change stage where, after implementation or trial, the Nursing Services Department and the head of the room, along with the PPJA and PA, are trying to maintain its continuity and become an organizational culture in the hospital. The conclusion of the activities carried out during the socialization and mentoring process has provided changes in behavior and mindset for nurses in implementing tiered supervision for completeness of nursing documentation on a routine and scheduled schedule. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Plasmodium Falciparum infection in pregnancy and impaired receptive and expressive language development in children under five. The research method uses an observational analytical design with a case-control approach. The results of the study showed that there was no significant relationship between a history of plasmodium falciparum infection in pregnancy and receptive language disorders in children under five, and there was no meaningful relationship between a history of plasmodium falciparum infection in pregnancy and expressive language disorders in children under five. In conclusion, a history of Plasmodium falciparum infection during pregnancy is not associated with impaired receptive and expressive language development in children under five. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Android-based educational model for handling post-immunization adverse events (AEFI) on behavior in dealing with AEFI in mothers who have children aged 1-24 months. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) and the Quasy Experimental Control Group Pre-test and Post-test Design study model test. The research subjects were 36 mothers with children aged 1-24 months and were divided into two groups. Risha, an Android-based AEFI handling education model, gave the treatment for one week with three meetings. The control group will receive education using leaflets for one week with three sessions—dependent variables: knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The data collection process uses a knowledge, attitudes, and skills questionnaire regarding handling AEFI. The model data was tested using the Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxone difference tests. The research results show that Risha's Android-based educational model for managing AEFI is effective in increasing knowledge (0.000), attitudes (0.000), and skills (0.011) of mothers who have children 1-24 months. This research concludes that Risha's Android-based educational model for handling AEFI is suitable for use to improve maternal behavior in dealing with AEFI in children aged 1-24 months. Abstract

This study aims to determine the important role of critical care nurses in preventing nosocomial infections caused by Multidrug-Resistant Organisms (MDROs). This review conducted a systematic search of electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science (WoS), and ScienceDirect, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. As a result of the study, Chlorhexidine baths, oral care, and environmental cleaning were identified as the most effective strategies for preventing MDROs in critical care settings and the impact of these strategies varied across studies. Caps containing alcohol to prevent bloodstream infections have also been shown to be effective. In conclusion, this review highlights the importance of implementing effective prevention strategies to reduce the incidence of MDROs in critical care settings. Critical care nurses must know the most effective strategies for preventing infections and implement them consistently. The findings of this review have important implications for clinical practice and policy development.
