Abstract

This study proposes transforming PT Bukit Asam’s underutilized Wisma Ombilin land into a modern 4-star hotel to diversify revenue, reduce coal dependency, and align with sustainability goals. Located in Padang City, the project aims to boost economic value, create jobs, and support local growth. Combining qualitative and quantitative methods, the research analyzes Padang’s hotel market, financial feasibility, and project risks. Market analysis reveals strong demand for 4-star hotels, with post-pandemic occupancy rates and room prices surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Financial modeling estimates a Net Present Value (NPV) of RP 188.38 billion, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 16.38%, and a payback period of 10.9 years, indicating solid profitability. Sensitivity analysis identifies key risks related to room rates, occupancy, and interest rates, recommending dynamic pricing and financing strategies for mitigation. Strategic risk management includes disaster-resilient design and operational efficiencies. The project supports PTBA’s transition from coal reliance, improves ESG performance, and enhances competitiveness. With strong market potential and effective risk controls, the hotel development offers sustainable returns and stakeholder value, warranting progression to detailed planning and financing.

Abstract

High employee turnover in Tangerang City’s retail industry signals dissatisfaction, prompting this study to examine the influence of compensation systems and career development on job satisfaction. The objective is to quantify their individual and combined effects using a quantitative survey approach. Data were collected from 100 retail employees via questionnaires, analyzed through multiple linear regression, instrument testing, and hypothesis testing with SPSS. Results show compensation systems positively affect job satisfaction (β = 0.412, p < 0.05), as does career development (β = 0.378, p < 0.05), with a simultaneous effect (F = 37.214, p < 0.05, R² = 0.427). These findings indicate that fair, transparent compensation and structured career paths significantly enhance employee satisfaction. Practically, retail firms should implement competitive salary structures, performance-based bonuses, and clear promotion pathways to boost loyalty and reduce turnover. The study suggests regular evaluation of these systems to align with market standards and employee expectations, fostering a supportive work environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of price, brand trust, and brand image on smartphone purchasing decisions among college students. College students are young consumers with special characteristics, such as limited budget but have a high orientation towards trends, quality, and brand value. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative design. A sample of 150 respondents was determined through a purposive sampling technique, namely active students who have used smartphones in the last six months. Data collection was carried out through a closed questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. The instrument was tested through validity and reliability tests, and continued with testing classical assumptions such as normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression and the F test. The results showed that price, brand trust, and brand image had a significant effect on purchasing decisions, both partially and simultaneously. Among the three variables, brand image is the most dominant factor influencing purchasing decisions. This shows that the perception of a brand as a symbol of trends, lifestyle, and identity greatly influences college students in choosing a product, although they still consider the aspects of price and trust in quality

Abstract

The poverty rate in the region has consistently remained above 12% over the past five years, indicating a persistent socioeconomic challenge. This study aims to analyze the effect of population, economic growth, regional spending, inflation, and education on poverty levels by utilizing secondary data obtained from official national statistics and financial institutions. The method used is multiple regression analysis with the aid of SPSS 21 software. The findings show that population and inflation have a positive but statistically insignificant influence on poverty, while regional spending also exerts a positive and insignificant effect. In contrast, economic growth and education have a negative and statistically significant effect on poverty, with probability values of 0.003 and 0.042, respectively. Simultaneously, the five variables examined show a significant collective influence on poverty levels during the 2009–2023 period. These results emphasize that economic growth and education play key roles in poverty reduction. The study provides important insights for policymakers to formulate targeted, evidence-based strategies aimed at addressing poverty more effectively and sustainably in the long term.

Abstract

Cooking oil is a vital household commodity in Indonesia, yet its demand faces challenges from rising prices, limited availability, varying income levels, and shifting market preferences. These factors influence consumption patterns, particularly in rural areas where economic and market conditions differ from urban settings. This study aims to examine household characteristics, explore the nature of cooking oil demand, and identify factors influencing this demand in Pematang Tebih Village, Ujungbatu Subdistrict, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Using a survey method, data were collected from 86 households across five hamlets, selected via simple random sampling. Descriptive analysis outlined household profiles and consumption patterns, while multiple linear regression analysis determined key influencing factors. Findings reveal that households, with an average age of 32 to 36 years and three family members, earn approximately 5,701,163 Indonesian Rupiah monthly. Most prefer packaged cooking oil priced between 15,000 and 17,000 Indonesian Rupiah per liter, with Minyakita as the dominant brand, consuming up to 4 liters monthly. Key factors affecting demand include prices of palm, bulk, and coconut cooking oils, wheat flour price, population income, and population size, explaining 85.1 percent of demand variation. In conclusion, these insights highlight the need for stable pricing and supply strategies to enhance affordability and food security in rural communities.

Abstract

High turnover intention among married female nurses at Fatmawati Hospital increases operational costs and risks compromising the quality of healthcare services. This study investigated the impact of work-family conflict (WFC) on turnover intention (TI), emphasizing the mediating role of psychological well-being (PWB). Using a mixed-methods approach, primary data were collected through structured questionnaires from married female nurses, while secondary data supported the theoretical framework. WFC was measured through two dimensions: work interference with family and family interference with work. PWB encompasses six dimensions, and TI was assessed based on six indicators related to job satisfaction and turnover intention. Data analysis using SPSS revealed that WFC negatively impacted PWB and positively impacted TI. In addition, higher psychological well-being reduced turnover intention and partially mediated the WFC–TI relationship. These findings highlight the importance of managing work-family conflict and improving nurses’ psychological well-being to reduce turnover risk. Limitations include a single hospital sample and cross-sectional design, and the need for larger longitudinal studies that can incorporate qualitative insights.

Abstract

The development of the equity crowdfunding ecosystem in Indonesia, focusing on campaign sustainability is seen to increase the chances of fundraising success by increasing investor trust, social legitimacy, and emotional engagement. This study aims to analyze the effect of sustainability orientation on Equity Crowdfunding campaign performance on platforms regulated by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, and to describe the mediating role of Crowdfunding Engagement Motivation. The approach applied is a systematic conceptual literature review, by searching for references related to sustainability, investor participation, and crowdfunding performance, then compiled through narrative synthesis. The results of the study indicate that campaigns that prioritize environmental and social elements can increase Crowdfunding Engagement Motivation such as individual value encouragement, community support, and mission alignment which ultimately encourage active investor behavior and success in fundraising. Thus, Crowdfunding Engagement Motivation functions as a positive link between sustainability orientation and Equity Crowdfunding outcomes. The practical implication is that entrepreneurs and managers of Equity Crowdfunding platforms in Indonesia should strategically prioritize sustainability values in campaigns to increase investor participation and funding efficiency. This study is not an empirical study, but a conceptual synthesis that explains theoretical pathways and practical strategies in local Equity Crowdfunding.

Abstract

The beauty industry relies heavily on fostering consumer loyalty through trust and engaging experiences, particularly for competitive urban markets. This study aims to examine the effects of brand experience and brand trust on brand loyalty, including the moderating role of brand experience in the trust-loyalty relationship. A quantitative approach with a causal-explanatory design was employed, using a purposive sample of 308 consumers, primarily young females. Data were collected via online surveys with a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares. The findings reveal that brand trust significantly influences brand loyalty, while brand experience has no direct effect. Brand experience significantly moderates the trust-loyalty relationship negatively, suggesting that intense experiences may weaken loyalty by raising unmet expectations. In conclusion, brand trust is a key driver, but brands must carefully manage experiences to align with consumer expectations, offering insights for building sustained loyalty in Indonesia’s beauty market.

Abstract

In deflationary economic conditions, where price sensitivity rises, understanding repurchase intention in e-commerce is crucial. This study explores how customer experience dimensions influence repurchase intention in Indonesia’s home and living e-commerce sector. Adopting the Stimulus–Organism–Response theory, it examines the roles of hedonic, utilitarian, and social values, mediated by customer trust and satisfaction. Data from 340 upper-middle-class respondents were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that customer satisfaction, rather than trust, primarily drives repurchase intention. Perceived privacy and security significantly enhance satisfaction, while hedonic motivation influences trust but not directly satisfaction. Contrary to expectations, personalization, online reviews, and social pressure showed no significant impact, challenging common digital marketing assumptions. Trust and satisfaction act as key mediators, with satisfaction being the dominant pathway to loyalty. These results highlight the critical role of emotional engagement and security in fostering customer loyalty during economic uncertainty. The study suggests e-commerce platforms prioritize secure, emotionally engaging experiences over functional attributes to retain customers in deflationary contexts, offering valuable insights for digital marketers navigating economic downturns.
