Abstract

This study aims to analyze the willingness of long-distance train passengers to pay for a special valuable item storage service. Despite PT KAI recording an increase in passenger numbers in 2023, issues of lost belongings remain a significant concern, as experienced by passengers on the Tawang Jaya Premium and Kaligung trains. The study involved 276 respondents selected from long-distance train passengers. The Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) and binary logistic regression were used to understand the factors influencing the willingness to pay for this service. The findings indicate that 35% to 71% of passengers are willing to pay for the valuable item storage service. The price range considered reasonable by passengers is between Rp 5,000 and Rp 50,000. Several key factors influencing passengers’ willingness to pay include the reliability of the storage facilities provided, the security of the storage procedures, and the perceived risk of losing belongings on the train. These findings offer insights for PT KAI to consider providing this service, which could enhance passenger comfort and security while reducing the risk of lost items during travel.

Abstract

Digital financial literacy is a new concept that is an important part of financial literacy, especially in the context of Indonesia where the majority of the population is dominated by the younger generation. This study aims to measure the level of digital financial literacy in Generation Z in Indonesia, namely those aged between 17 and 26 years. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a good understanding of digital finance, including their awareness of financial risks, rights as consumers, and their understanding and experience in using various digital financial products. However, understanding of consumer rights and protection in digital financial services still varies. Most respondents felt uninformed about these aspects. On the other hand, adoption of digital payment solutions is very high, reflecting the convenience and widespread acceptance of the technology. However, knowledge about digital asset management products and fintech services related to financing and investment is still limited. These findings indicate that although digital financial literacy has developed, further educational efforts are needed to improve consumer understanding, especially regarding consumer protection and fintech services in financing and investment.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the marketing mix and purchase intention, focusing on premium coffee shops in Jakarta. The research employs the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) framework to assess how attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control mediate the effects of the marketing mix—product, price, place, and promotion—on consumer purchasing decisions. Data was gathered from 135 respondents, aged 15-46, who frequent coffee shops such as Starbucks Reserve and Djournal Coffee, using an online survey. The analysis was conducted through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using Smart PLS 4. The results indicate that the marketing mix enhances perceived customer value and shapes positive consumer attitudes towards premium coffee brands. While the marketing mix positively influences customer attitudes and subjective norms, it was found that subjective norms and perceived behavioral control do not significantly affect purchase intentions. This may be due to external factors such as market conditions and customer preferences playing a stronger role. Interestingly, value was not a direct driver of purchase intention, suggesting that cultural and social contexts, as well as personal experiences, might have a greater influence. The findings provide practical insights for premium coffee shop owners to refine their marketing strategies by focusing on enhancing the customer experience, maintaining product quality, and offering engaging promotions to encourage repeat purchases. The study contributes to the growing body of research on consumer behavior in the coffee shop industry and provides a foundation for future studies to explore additional variables influencing purchase decisions.
