Abstract

This program is a community service activities with the activity of the title isPreservation and Processing of Fish Waste and Fresh Fish that can be Income GeneratingProducts for Fishermen Household in Village Malabro Bengkulu. This activity aims toequip the housewives of fishermen about fish preservation and processing of fish wasteinto products that can be sold to raise additional revenue for fishermen family in thevillage of Malabro. The results achieved from this activity is fishermen housewives havegained new knowledge about fish preservation and processing of fish waste into fishcrackers, fishermen housewives eager and motivated to immediately apply the knowledgeand skills gained from this activity, establishment of home industry by housewives offishermen engaged in the processing of fish crackers processed fish waste, fishermenhousewives have been able to preserve the fish in order to survive longer, fishermenhousewives have learned how to market their product or distributed crackers they made,which has been formed a new source of income for women in the fishing village Malabro.Keyword: Preservation, Processing, Fish Waste, Fish Crackers

Abstract

Permasalahan yang dihadapi warga masyarakat Desa Tanjung Terdana adalah kondisi perekonomian masyarakat yang rendah, yaitu hanya mengandalkan penghasilan dari bertani, dan masyarakat belum memiliki keterampilan teknologi tepat guna sederhana yang memadai. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk : 1) Meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah organik rumah tangga menggunakan teknologi kompos Takakura sebagai salah satu potensi sumber industri rumah tangga untuk menambah penghasilan masyarakat, 2) Meningkatkan keterampilan bagi masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan teknologi kompos Takakura sebagai salah satu cara untuk meningkatan keterampilan dan perubahan pola pikir masyarakat sadar lingkungan. Metode kegiatan yang diberikan meliputi pelatihan, pengerjaan tugas terbimbing, dan monitoring serta evaluasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 4 Agustus 2018 di rumah kepala desa Tanjung Terdana. Kegiatan ini telah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan skill masyarakat Desa Tanjung Terdana dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga menggunakan teknologi sederhana pembuatan kompos Takakura.

Abstract

Changing the learning culture of teacher centered learning to student centered learning requires teachers to be able to choose a teaching method that is able to enhance the activity of students in learning. Based on observations, teachers in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 and 4 are generally still using conventional methods. This condition causes the students tend to be passive in the learning process, resulting in the average value of students in several areas of study under standard KKM of School. Besides, the school is less stimulating teachers to make innovations in learning. Forms of activity to be undertaken is the lesson study workshop for teachers in partner schools. Open lesson followed by reflection and evaluation of the implementation of lesson study workshop. Science and technology activities for the Community (IbM) which has been implemented can improve the knowledge and understanding of teachers about lesson study based learning. This activity can change the learning patterns from teacher centered learning to student centered learning. Abstract

It has been devoted an activity in community in application of science and technology with the title: Design and Utilization Hydroponic Vertical Hydro 40 Hole for Karang Taruna Tri Tunggal in Talang Pauh Village, Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu. This dedication destination to design and utilize hydroponic vertical hydro technology as one of the ground breaking technological break throughs in rural areas to complement the vegetable needs for house hold scale. From the results of the implementation of dedication can be concluded that hydroponic technology vertical model of 40 holes hydro can be well received by the participant’s devotion. The plant species are mustard, this plant can grow well from two weeks old, although the harvest period for mustard plants is estimated to 35-50 days. Keywords: hydroponic, vertical hydro, 40 hole, house hold scale, Talang Pauh Village

Abstract

Pematang Gubernur, Muara Bangkahulu District, Bengkulu City, is a town where many people do small business making and selling traditional cakes or fried foods. This business uses vegetables, such as potato, carrot, cabbage   as base ingredients.  However, the people have not yet used technology to help them do the work, especially for the vegetable cutting process. Hence, they lack of time efficiency and consistency in size of the cut food. To overcome this, technology is needed in the form of a multipurpose vegetable cutting machine capable of cutting large capacity vegetables in no time. This community service activity aims to assist technology transfer programs to the community. The team of this program introduces the vegetable cutting machines, as well as providing and motivating ways to create, install and use vegetable cutting machines. Methods used in this program include assisting in the identification of vegetable / grass cutting machine components, design assistance, material selection and manufacturing of cutting machines and practice using cutting machines. The results show that participants are very interested in making and using the equipment. They expect the sustainability of this activity. Participants hope that this activity will be continued with training in making various forms of vegetable cutting mold. Different shapes of cutting is expected to get more attractive look of the food.

Abstract

Thehigh rates of Transfusion-Transmitted Infections (TTI) in Indonesia, especially in Bengkulu Province is quite high and becoming a problem that must be tackled. As reported up to June 2012 the number of cumulative AIDS cases in Indonesia according to gender were 30.931 cases, whilethe cumulative number of HIV and AIDS as many as 611 cases on Bengkulu province.PMI Bengkulu City in 2015 found 61 cases of Hepatitis B, two cases of Hepatitis C and Syphilis 29 cases. WHO Global Database on bloody Safety reported that 20% the population in developed countries as much as 80% have been using donor blood safely, while 80% of the world's population circulating in developing countries only 20% wassafe. The training appliesvarious methods of learning such as: interactive lectures, case relateddiscussions, donor screening practices skills, pre-test and post-test with feedback training. The training was attendedby 14 donor recruitment personnel of UTD PMI Bengkulu with most age range 31 to 40 years old,most of them high school have education level and they have less knowledge and skill. In addition, ongoing education and up-to-date information regarding infectious agent that are potentially transmitted via blood components are crucial for protecting TTI.Keywords: blood transfusion, blood donor recruitment personnel

Abstract

The population of cattle and goats, in Tugu Rejo village, is poorly developed, characterized by lower calf cow production, prolonged calving/kidding interval. The main problem identified from Tugu Rejo Village is the lack of knowledge of farmers on breeding and feed management. The purpose of this activity was to improve farmer knowledge about reproductive and feeding management  through an extension and guidance to the farmers. The results of the activity can increase knowledge breeding management, about prevention of distocia, arrangement of cross breeding, prevention of inbreeding for goats. To improve the efficiency of breeding, breeders should be able to utilize breeding diagrams to regulate the mating system in livestock and feeding management during lactation. Keyword: management, reproductive, feed, livestock

Abstract

Pepper plants that grow in coastal areas facing a multiple stress i.e high temperatures, strong winds, drought, salinity, and nutrient deficiencies. Cultivation of plants in coastal areas requires specific technology, but cheap and environmentally friendly.Socialization, training, and mentoring implemented to improve the ability of farmers to implement the cultivation of high yielded chillies in coastal areas. The methods implemented namely (1) socialization potential of coastal land for plant cultivation and the technology needed, (2) training production of biocompost and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inoculant, and (3) demoplot pepper cultivation in coastal lands. The activities carried out in the Desa Pekik Nyaring and Beringin Raya, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu province. Demoplot arranged Split-split plot with a randomized block design Complete two-factor with the location, genotype chili and fertilizer as the main plot, subplot, and sub-sub plot. The results show that farmers can absorb the information and training well to produce biocompost and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi inculant. Desa Beringin Raya is more potential for pepper cultivation compared Desa Pekik Nyaring. Abstract

Bengkulu Province has many potentials such as beaches, conservation forests, plantations and others. Plantations in Bengkulu consist of smallholders and private / BUMN businesses. Smallholder plantations include coffee, black pepper, palm, rubber, areca nut and other gardens. The results of this plantation are still traditionally processed, which is drying and drying in the open with the help of solar heat. This drying process is still being implemented where the quality is poorly controlled. This has caused the yield of the plantation in Bengkulu to be unknown to other regions. like coffee in the Bengkulu area which has a distinctive taste characteristic compared to other regions. Coffee that is processed is Robusta or Arabica coffee which is the mainstay of the people of Air Raman Village, Bengkulu Province. The processing process is dried in the yard of the house, field, roadside and others. This drying and processing process is easily polluted from dust, animal waste, uneven drying. And the erratic drying time causes the villagers to need a machine or garden processing technology. One technology is a rotary dryer. Rotary drying machines can be used by utilizing regional potential such as solar energy, wind energy, water energy and others. In addition to Coffee, this village also has garden products such as black pepper, Pinang and others where the process is the same as the coffee harvest. The advantage of this dryer is a shorter drying time, the use of solar energy can minimize operational costs for drying coffee and black pepper. The dried coffee and black pepper are free from animal waste, dust and various other types of garbage and the process of drying more than 4 days from drying is done manually / in the public yard. This is because the temperature inside the drying machine is rotary higher than the open air, the level of dryness of coffee and black pepper is produced evenly, because the temperature in the rotary dryer is equipped with a stirrer evenly spread so that the stirring process is no longer necessary. . The working mechanism of this tool is expected to help people producing coffee and black pepper to dry their crops so that the quality of coffee and black pepper is good and the selling value is high. The output of PPM activities The application of science and technology is a high selling value that will increase people's income, improve people's welfare to be better and also create new jobs for the community as a producer of rotary drying machines. The availability of appropriate technology for the design and construction of rotary drying machines. Scientific publications at the national level are published in the national journal Dharma Raflesia December 2018

Abstract

ABSTRACTMost of Kota Niur population is farmer, consisting more than 90% of the population. The three most important of cultivated plants are coffee, rubber, and palm oil, cultivated intraditional system, with relatively low productivity. The purposes of these projects aretraining the farmers to prepare a good seedling for their plantation, and practicing a goodmanagement for their farm. This project has been conducted since May to the December2013 by establishing 3000 plants of coffee seedling, 11000 plants ofrubber seedling, and2000 plants of oil palm seedling. Demonstration plots have also been developed for coffee,rubber and oil palm plantations. One-hectare demo plots for coffee, two locations of onehectaredemoplots for rubber, and two locations of one-hectaredemo plots for oil palmplantations. Nursery area of about 1000 m2has also been established with fence,irrigation, and shading facilities. Training of grafting, occultation, and nursery have alsobeen conducted to prepare for coffee, rubber, and oil palmnursery, resulting in threegroups of 5-people well trained in coffee grafting, rubber oculation and oilpalm nursery.
