Abstract

Acne vulgaris affects about 85% of people ages 12 to 25 in the United States. In Indonesia, around 95-100% of young men and 83-85% of young women suffer from acne. The prevalence of acne in adult women is about 12% and 3% in adult men. One of the principles of treating acne is to reduce the P. acne population and suppress inflammation. Inflammation in acne can be treated with medications, including erythromycin and clindamycin, and acne treatments. Many sufferers are switching from conventional medicine and looking for alternative treatments. Aloe vera is known to have anthraquinone active compounds (Aloe-emodin) which are structural analogues of tetracyclines and polysaccharides (Acemannan) which can trigger bacterial phagocytosis, thereby contributing to its benefits as an antibacterial. The results of a literature study show that Aloe Vera has an antibacterial effect against acne vulgaris bacteria because it contains saponins and anthroquinones.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is currently a disease that epidemiologically shows a tendency to increase in incidence and prevalence in various parts of the world, including Indonesia. Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy is divided into two groups, namely DM that was previously known and later became pregnant (pregestational DM) and DM that was newly discovered during pregnancy (GDM). Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy is a public health problem because this disease has a direct impact on the health of the mother and fetus. This disease is one of the most common medical complications during pregnancy, with an incidence of 3-5% of all pregnancies. Uncontrolled diabetes during pregnancy results in an increased risk of miscarriage in the first trimester, congenital abnormalities of the fetus, especially heart and central nervous system disorders, increased fetal death, premature labor, preeclampsia, ketoacidosis, polyhydramnios, macrosomia, birth trauma, delayed lung maturation, respiratory distress syndrome. , jaundice, hypoglycemia, and increased perinatal mortality. Therefore, a comprehensive treatment is needed in dealing with gestational diabetes.

Methods: This study used observational analytic research with a cross-sectional study design using primary data obtained directly from respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data was collected using a questionnaire that was distributed online via Google Forms. The sampling method used in this study was consecutive sampling, with a total of 107 samples. The data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: There is a significant relationship between the level of physical activity and musculoskeletal pain during the COVID-19 pandemic in college students, with a p-value of 0.002 (P <0.05). Conclusion: Musculoskeletal pain is significantly related to the level of physical activity among college students, with a percentage of 47.7% experiencing moderate-high category musculoskeletal pain and 52.3% experiencing low category musculoskeletal pain.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease–Mineral and Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) is a common complication that occurs in CKD in the early stages of the disease. This condition can persist and progress as the CKD stage increases. Bone biopsy is still considered as the gold standard tool in determining the mechanism of turnover, mineralization and bone volume defects in CKD patients. Currently, CKD-MBD and its complication management have been focusing on correcting biochemical and hormonal abnormalities to limit their potential effects This case is a picture where the diagnosis can be established clearly and gave the proper management. We report a case with CKD-MBD and received comprehensive treatment of internal medicine and orthopaedic surgery so that the patient was able to improve on laboratory and physical activity. Seeing the importance of the relationship between CKD and its progression towards CKD-MBD, it is necessary to make an accurate and effective diagnosis early to determine the right therapy so as not to fall into side effects or fatal complications. The proper diagnosis and treatment of CKD is very important because it is often associated with morbidity or mortality.

Method: This was a cross-sectional design study with a sample size of 60 infants. Information was obtained through interviews and medical record when admission. Univariate data were presented in distribution frequency table form and bivariate analysis data were analyzed by using Mann-Whitney test. Results: The incidence of diarrhea in children aged 0-12 years was dominated by children who consumed formula milk (68.3%) from the total study sample. The results also found that there was a nonsignificant difference between exclusive breastfeeding compared to infant formula milk and the incidence of diarrhea in infants under 1 year of age. Conclusion: The incidence of diarrhea was lower among infants with exclusive breastfeeding compared to infants with formula milk, although the difference is insignificant.
