Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Increased DHF incidences caused by the unclean lifestyle of people. This study was an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The aim was to determine the relationship between individual characteristics, behavior, and environment on the incidence of DHF. Data were collected by interview and observation using a questionnaire and observation sheet. Data analyzed by univariate and bivariate methods with a chisquare analysis test. The number of samples was 107 people with the sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The results showed that 15.9% of the community had dengue fever in the last six months. There were 4 variables that have a relationship to the incidence of DHF, namely age (p-value = 0,000), gender (pvalue = 0.017, OR = 4.146), knowledge (p-value = 0.034, OR = 5.231), actions (p-value = 0.045, OR = 3.740), while education (pvalue = 0.086), work (p-value = 0.748), attitude (p-value = 0.078), the existence of larvae (p-value = 0.716) does not have a relationship to the incidence of DHF and 1 variable cannot be connected namely the existence of a water reservoir because 100% have a water reservoir and 1 variable only looks at the description of DHF events by season.

The daily activity independence score after health education showed an increasing trend. Respondents belonging to the independent category experienced an increase from 3 people (30%) at the pre-test to 8 people (80%) at the posttest with the strength of the influence p=0.016. Respondents belonging to the "know" category experienced an increase from 6 people (60%) in the pre-test to 9 people (90%), from the test statistical test results showed that there was an effect of health education on the independence of daily activities where the strength of the effect was obtained with a value of p=0.004, Attitude (affective) independence score of Daily Activities after health education showed an increasing trend. Respondents who were included in the "responding" category experienced an increase from 3 people (30%) in the pre-test to 8 people (80%) from the results of statistical tests that showed an influence on attitudes (affective) in terms of daily activities of mild stroke sufferers in Indonesia.Where the strength of the influence is obtained with a value of p=0.010. Respondents belonging to the "doing" category experienced an increase from 2 people (20%) in the pre-test to 6 people (60%), from the results of the test statistic that there was a positive influence on actions/practices (psychomotor) in terms of daily activities. Abstract

Indonesia, especially West Papua, which is a malaria endemic area, is still facing malaria as a health problem. Malaria is one of the causes of death of pregnant women, children and toddlers which can reduce labor productivity. If not treated immediately, pregnant women who contract malaria can experience complications that affect the mother and the fetus in her womb. In endemic areas, malaria is often considered a common disease, causing differences in people's mindsets in seeking treatment for malaria. There has been no previous research in West Papua regarding knowledge and attitudes about malaria with the behavior of pregnant women to seek malaria treatment in pregnancy. The study was conducted in three PKM in Sorong Regency to 81 respondents with a cross sectional study design using consecutive sampling. The research instrument used is using a questionnaire. The results obtained are the proportion of self-medication behavior is low, the level of knowledge is moderate and the attitude is high in pregnant women. However, the results of the analysis test were found to be insignificant between the level of knowledge and behavior of selfmedication and the level of attitudes and behavior (p>0.05). However, good knowledge and attitude can prevent pregnant women from self-medication. There is no relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes with self-medication behavior. Increased knowledge of malaria can be done to help pregnant women better understand malaria, and malaria screening for pregnant women is carried out more actively to prevent pregnant women from self-medication.
