Abstract

Malaria reinfection is one of the concerns in the management of malaria in endemic areas. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the incidence of malaria reinfection. The study used an analytical observational approach with a cross-sectional study design which was conducted in Mei-June 2021 in Keerom Regency, Papua. The research sample amounted to 127 respondents who were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used fisher's exact test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there was an effect of using mosquito repellent (p = 0.001), the habit of hanging clothes (p = 0.046) and the presence of standing water (p = 0.042) on the incidence of malaria reinfection. Meanwhile, adherence to taking malaria medication (p= 0.623), habit of going out (p= 0.441), habit of using mosquito nets (p= 1,000) and the presence of mosquito netting (p= 0.706) did not affect the incidence of malaria reinfection. It is necessary to conduct health education about the use of mosquito repellent, the habit of hanging clothes and intervention in the community's living environment.

Abstract

The deficiency of micronutrients and anemia are nutritional problems in pregnancy. WHO in 2019 and Riskesdas in 2018 reported that anemic pregnant women in Indonesia were 44.2% and 48.9%. Public Health Service also reported there was an increased prevalence of this problem in West Sumatra and Padang City in 2019 which was 18.1% and 11.2%. Micronutrient deficiency affected the hemoglobin (Hb) level, which is one of the indicators marking anemia in pregnancy. The objective was to determine the correlation between zinc and folic acid with hemoglobin levels in the third trimester of pregnancy. This analytical cross-sectional research was held in the Health Center and laboratory of Lubuk Kilangan on May-July 2022. The population and samples were 64 third-trimester pregnant women with total sampling. Intake data were collected through interviews using the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Hemoglobin levels were examined by a hematology analyzer. Pearson correlation was used to identify the correlation of the variables (P< 0.05) . The mean levels of zinc and folic acid intake and hemoglobin levels were 7.35 mg, 215.56 mcg, and 11.08 g/dL. There was a positive correlation between zinc (p=0,015) and folic acid (p=0.004) with hemoglobin levels in the third trimester of pregnancy.

The samples of this research were 49 IUD users and 149 non-IUD users. The instruments were a questionnaire. The bivariate analysis used Chi-Squere. The results the bivariate study found that there was a not significant relationship between occupation with the selection of IUD contraceptives (p = 0.251) and there was a significant relationship between education and the selection of IUD contraceptives (p = 0.001) This study concludes that there is no relationship between occupation with the choice of IUD contraceptives and there is a relationship between education and the choice of IUD contraceptives

Abstract

One of the reasons for the failure to provide exclusive breastfeeding is their perception of insufficient milk production so that they cannot breastfeed their babies optimally. The decrease in milk production in the first days after giving birth is triggered by a lack of stimulation of the hormones prolactin and oxytocin which play a very important role in the smooth production of mother's milk. One of the efforts made to improve the smoothness of breastfeeding is Hypnobreastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Hypnobreastfeeding on the Fluency of Breastfeeding in Postpartum Mothers at Leni Langsa Independent Maternity Homes in 2022 This type of research is experimental research with the research design used being Pre-Experimental with the One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers at the Leni Langsa Maternity Home in September 2022 as many as 14 respondents. sampling technique with purposive sampling obtained as many as 12 respondents. Bivariate data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results of this study indicate that the mean value of each is 2.9167 (Pre) and 5.5833 (Post). The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test are known that the p value (0.001) < (0.05) means Ho is rejected. The conclusion of the study is that there is a significant effect of hypnobreastfeeding on the smoothness of breastfeeding in postpartum mothers at the Leni Langsa Maternity Home in 2022. It is recommended for midwives can apply hypnobreastfeeding in overcoming the inability of breastfeeding so that postpartum mothers can exclusively breastfeed without obstacles
