Abstract

This study aims to describe students' perceptions of the social attitudes gap at Primbana Junior High School in Medan. The social attitude gap here refers to differences in the way students perceive and treat their peers based on social, economic and cultural backgrounds. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations of students in grades VII to IX at SMP Primbana Medan. The results showed that most of the students were aware of the social inequality in their school, which was reflected in discriminatory behaviours, stereotyping, and segregation of social groups based on economic status and race. However, there is also a segment of students who are trying to build an inclusive attitude and be more open to differences. Factors such as the influence of family environment, education and social interactions outside of school also influence students' perceptions of the social gap. This study illustrates the importance of more inclusive educational efforts and awareness of social diversity in the school environment, in order to create a more harmonious and respectful atmosphere among students. Keywords: Students' perceptions, social attitude gap, SMP Primbana Medan, discrimination, inclusiveness.

Abstract

Through the works of Ebrahim Moosa (South Africa, India, and the United States) and al-Ṭāhir Amīn (Tunisia), this article examines how critical Islam might be used to address the problems facing the Muslim world. It contends that the ethical thesis—that emancipation begins with the formation of a Muslim autonomous self via a reexamination of the Muslim heritage—is highlighted by critical Islam.  It is demonstrated that critical Islam is open to modernity and critical of Western imperialism, emphasizes the individual's religious experience, historizes the understanding of religious literature, and deviates from tradition. However, it prioritizes deconstruction above novel theological concepts, ignores spirituality, and has little effect on the majority of theologians.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyse the ideal marriage age based on the Islamic family law philosophy perspective in Indonesia. In the context of Islamic family law, the age of marriage is not only seen from the biological aspect, but also from the physical, mental, and social readiness of the individuals involved. This study uses a qualitative method with a legal philosophy approach to explore the values contained in Islamic family law related to the age of marriage. The results of the study show that the ideal age to carry out marriage in Indonesia according to the perspective of Islamic family law philosophy is 21 years old, which is considered the right age to achieve emotional, physical, and mental maturity, so that it can form a family that is sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah. These findings can be considered in marriage legal policies in Indonesia that prioritise family welfare and social harmony. Keywords: Marital Age, Ideal, Islamic Family Law Philosophy, Indonesia, Legal Policy

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the inheritance of dzawil arham (distant relatives) in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in Indonesia, which is identified as not regulated in existing regulations. Although KHI regulates the distribution of inheritance in detail for the closer heirs, the lack of clarity regarding inheritance rights for dzawil arham creates legal uncertainty in the implementation of inheritance distribution. This research aims to examine the importance of clearer arrangements regarding the inheritance rights of Dzawil Arham in KHI to provide legal certainty and justice for all related parties. Through a qualitative approach and normative analysis, it was found that more specific and detailed regulations regarding dzawil arham were needed so that the distribution of inheritance could be fairer and more equitable. This study recommends that KHI accommodate clearer rules related to the inheritance rights of dzawil arham, to ensure justice in the application of Islamic inheritance law in Indonesia. Keywords: Inheritance, Dzawil Arham, Compilation of Islamic Law, Distribution of Inheritance, Legal Certainty

Abstract

This article discusses the legal transformation of movable waqf in the context of current laws and regulations in Indonesia, particularly in the modern era. This study outlines the changes in legal perspectives that have occurred in line with the development of regulations and policies related to the waqf of movable objects, including Law No. 41/2004 on Waqf, as well as its implementing regulations. In addition, the article also highlights the challenges and opportunities that arise in the implementation of movable waqf in Indonesia, as well as the role of religious institutions and the government in regulating and ensuring the sustainability of movable waqf. Abstract

Abstract: The Islamic Religious Education curriculum has an important role in shaping the character and spiritual abilities of students in accordance with the demands of the competency-based curriculum. Objectives, content/materials, learning strategies, and evaluation are the main components of the Islamic Education curriculum. This study used a qualitative approach, using descriptive-analytical methods and document studies, to analyse the relationship and role of each component to ensure that educational goals are optimally achieved. The results showed that the four elements encourage each other and must be planned in an integrated manner so that PAI learning can run effectively, contextually, and in accordance with the times. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for developing a customised PAI curriculum that is able to form a competent and characterful Muslim generation. Keywords: Islamic Education Curriculum, Curriculum Components, Islamic Religious Education
